Value Place

DO NOT STAY HERE! This is a barebones, cheap motel chain with dishonest policies. My proof:
1) They did not have my 1 bed room so they UPCHARGED me for a 2 bed room. It was non-​negotiable. It was an Alabama football game weekend so I had no choice. Unethical!
2) They charge you a $ 100 deposit without telling you at the time of your reservation. Dishonest!
3) The beds have no box springs, there are no table lamps, they make you take out your garbage, they have a cheap Chinese TV set, no closet, nothing. Cheap.
4) There is no desk clerk after 2:00PM on a Saturday afternoon. You have to call them! Unsafe! Cheap!
Avoid this motel at all costs! I will never stay at one again.

This place was different from a traditional hotel in that it is actually a place where people live that also includes the personnel. Some of the residents were relocated from the tornado that struck earlier this year.
Upon getting to my room I found only a mattress on my bed. However, a young man and lady soon knocked and entered my room providing bedding and multiple apologies. Both were down to earth, friendly, and engaged in small talk while cleaning the room and making the bed.
The room included a fridge, microwave and even a stove for cooking. Unfortunately I lost my key card but was able to call the after hours number to get in.
Only minor quibble was that the room was not cleaned prior to my arrival, but just shortly after as I mentioned it was with sincere apologies. More importantly, the room was clean, it was comfy, staff was very friendly, hotel is not too far from UBama, cost per night at $ 100 during football season was very reasonable, and as a result my stay was pleasant.
