Chrissie Vocal Studio

My son has always been a pretty good singer, but trying to get him to the next level, we decided to reach out to a professional vocal coach and found Chrissie. Working with Chrissie has pushed him to the next level. All those hard to reach notes are now well within his vocal range. Our son’s goal was to audition for Orange County School of the Arts’ Commercial Music program. Not only did he get into OCSA on his first try, but he also tried out for, and was selected to be a part of Montage (OCSA’s premier performance group). This would not have happened without Chrissie. Chrissie is the best!

I highly recommend Chrissie as a vocal instructor! I have been taking weekly lessons with Chrissie for the past month and a half, and I have noticed significant improvements in my voice every week. When I was looking for a vocal instructor, I was most concerned about finding someone who could train my voice with the proper technique. I have struggled for years with a significant break in my voice, and although I had taken lessons with a couple of different teachers in the past, no one had been able to teach me solid technique — until Chrissie.
I knew in my very first lesson with Chrissie that she is exceptional. Chrissie is not only able to hear exactly what my voice is doing, but she is also able to explain to me so that I understand. Every lesson, she works my voice and designs exercises that are specific to my vocal needs, and the exercises work! I practice with the exercises daily, and each week I see improvement. Chrissie demonstrates every vocal exercise, and she herself is an accomplished singer with a beautiful, well-​trained voice.
I am so thankful to have found Chrissie. She is not only extremely knowledgeable, but she is also truly enjoyable to see every week. I only wish that I could have started taking lessons with her sooner!

I found Chrissie though Unilocal and checked her out in January to see how it was. With no formal training, I told her my goal was to sing in my church choir. She made me feel very relaxed and explained exercises and musical/​vocal terms whenever I didn’t understand something. Well, I tried out for my choir in February and made it! I returned in May and signed-​up for a package (4 sessions) and with each visit, I learned so much and improved. She records each session and she sets time at the end for you to sing a song of your choice. She’s a great teacher!

Chrissie is FANTASTIC! My daughter (17) started voice lessons with her a few months ago to get ready for a musical she was cast in and now that it is over she is continuing to work with Chrissie. Chrissie really knows what she is doing and she really works to find what works for her students to get the most out of the lessons. She even came to see her show and support her. She tapes each lesson for her students to work on at home and she is very reasonably priced compared to many voice teachers we contacted. I would recommend Chrissie to everyone!

Chrissie was a God send. I feel bad that I had not thought of writing a review. My daughter has had voice lessons for some time, but had gone as far as she could go with her previous voice teacher. Chrissie has brought her to a new level.
She challenges my daughter which is very important. She is teaches her more then just how to sing, she is helping her with auditioning which is an area she needs to grow in.

I’ve been going to Chrissie since last October, but it wasn’t until maybe 3 months ago that I was able to go every week. My voice has changed for the better, and my aspirations seem so much more tangible. Every time I have a lesson with Chrissie, my voice grows in quality and clarity. Thankful for her gift of music and charisma.

We’ve enrolled our daughter for voice lessons with Chrissie for about a month now, and she has been amazing! Our daughter began taking lessons with a different studio in January, but I was concerned she needed to be introduced to vocal techniques more so than reading music and singing songs. Of course the latter is important, but my kid likes to take a stab at songs well beyond her years, which could be harmful to her without the correct approach.
Anyway, after the first lesson with Chrissie I knew she was the one for our girl. She makes our daughter feel so welcome, and speaks to her with a genuine interest in the kid stuff she loves to blab about. All of the vocal exercises that have been introduced have already helped my daughter’s range. One of the things we’re most excited with is the introduction of stage presence and acting. Our daughter really loves the idea of it, and she’s inspired to try out a few musical theater camps this summer. We’re so thankful to have found Chrissie and her studio! Such a wonderful experience so far.

My family moved to CA about 6 months ago, and Chrissie was recommended to us through a friend. My daughter never had voice lessons before, but she is very interested in musical theater and so Chrissie, who is actively involved in theater, was a good choice.
Honestly, our experience with Chrissie has been nothing short of wonderful. Most vocal coaches often resort to just asking kids to «sing this» or «sing that» and try offer advice. Chrissie on the other hand understands the fundamentals of singing and coaching. She does special singing exercises to help strengthen the parts my daughters voice (the way the vocal chords are used, the throat, the diaphragm, breathing), and knows how to overcome weaknesses in her singing, such as having her change the way some words are pronounced so as to allow her to hit notes that she couldn’t previously, or make the words sound clearer when sung.
Chrissie also takes a lot of personal time and attention with our daughter, and makes her feel like a friend instead of a student. I recommend her whole-​heartedly, and I am sure you will love her as much as we do.

I have been studying with Chrissie for a little over 6 months now. I came to her with little experience, basically a small talent with high aspirations, however over the months I have noticed a tremendous improvement in not only my voice, but also my stage presence and confidence. Chrissie is devoted to helping her students become better singers, and it shows in her dedication to learning new techniques herself.
I would highly recommend Chrissie Vocal Studio as a music teacher.
