El Torito

Went for brunch their Sunday brunch. Around a 15 minute wait. Hostess were very nice. Invited us for coffee and pastries while we waited. Were seated. Great service by our waiter and food was very good! Very enjoyable experience :)

I would give this location 4 stars, because the food here is delicious. But I have been here for the lunch buffet three times in last 2 weeks and they never have any chocolate items for desert. This is a deal breaker for me, the orange location has brownies. I need chocolate after my meal. I will not return to this one until I hear they are serving some sort of chocolate desert again. Be consistent in your desert and your customers will be consistent.

Great food! Great service! Was disappointed at first because it wasn’t busy for Super Bowl but the food and kindness of the manager and bartenders made up for it by FAR! Totally going to come back!

This is the nastiest place to eat if your looking to eat Mexican food. There food is not even a traditional Mexican plate. I was disgusted and disappointed when I asked for chilaqilles it’s suppose to be a mexican restaurant that’s why the name is el torito!!’ Well I guess not because the waiter said it’s mainly for white people! Im so disappointed never coming back here that’s for sure

Good food. Me and my wife got a table right away. We order our food and we got it in the next 10 minutes. Fast service. Probably in and out in like 30 minutes.

I have been going here for years. The food is always very good. I love Thursday’s special BBQ ribs. They are so so good. There like no other rib you have ever tasted. They give you so many there is no way to eat them all. They come with great sides. Going tonight again!

Usually go every Monday for all you can eat fajitas and drinks. Jeff the manager was awesome. Came over and chatted with us. Had a bad experience in the location by the John Wayne airport however this location is a huge difference.

Dinner here was a struggle. Coupon reads 2 fajitas– 2 margaritas = $ 25. We had an Extra margarita @ $ 6.99 X 2 = $ 39.00 bill read 55.00. Should be $ 39.00 w coupon. Wait person then took bill to $ 47.00 bc salads were extra she says now. We Asked wait staff to substitute salad for rice– she said okay, no charge as substitution. She said she could get a manager now. Thank you but my math is fine, no need. So is my memory .
Dinner was wrong when she brought it over — it’s a vegan meal. No butter no oils please … Wrong X 2. She literally looked at me, as I am looked at veggies covered in oil and said «I saw the chef put no oil on it «. I took out a napkin and placed the non oily veggies on napkin to show the «non oil» oil. Apparently I can’t tell oil from water .
When she came back w the change from bill, she put it on the table. Said nothing. Walked away. Turned around and glared at me .
I have worked in the restaurant industry for years and NEVER have I ever — 1) lied to customers about what their food was cooked in 2) sneered at them bf I still had a fighting chance for a tip (we still tipped 15%) and 3) ignored a coupon after being showed the coupon prior to dinner.
If u go to eat here — ask for Juan. He has waited on us a few times and been wonderful. Food is usually good also .
I know my order can be a pain, no meat no dairy — don’t cover my healthy veggies in butter and oil. I won’t eat it .
Don’t be a tall strawberry blond ass bc u don’t understand that order. It’s not that complicated. And honor coupons that u claim you will bf the meal begins .
Won’t go back there bc of her alone.

Amazing service!!! Staff was super friendly and helpful. After a horrible day, we decided to hit el torito to just watch the game. The manager Jim greeted us and put the game on for us. Our drinks were always full, and food was great! Jim is the man! Even though he isn’t a clipper fan!

The lunch buffet was good. The service was slow and the waiter was not attentive. Had an empty glass for at least 15 min till I asked for a refill.

I don’t know why it took me soo long to write a review for this place.

Customer service here has always bee spot on! Every waiter or waitress who’ve helped us have always been on top of things.
Food has always arrived fresh. Freshly made chips and salsa are the BOMB!
Their happy hour is pretty good as well. They do get a little stingy when it comes to alcohol drinks sometimes. Which is one of their bad parts, but the price for them is decent.

Dear Ashley, if you were less concerned with running around the floor on your cell phone And more concerned with the guests you are serving this might be a better review. Put your dang phone away! You’re at work! Unacceptable and unprofessional. Not to mention unsanitary.

I went for the Sunday Brunch; oh my gosh. There was so much good food, I wanted to eat everything! They offer a variety of food for kids and adults. It was worth the price. The place is very beautifully decorated! The restrooms are like little Mexican houses. I loved it, I would definitely go there again!

The staff is very friendly but aside from Buffet where we get food ourselves, I have had less than stellar experiences.
I will say the manager on duty was very helpful when we had a coupon issue but my issue is that we always get forgotten about and I don’t care for the way the fajita plates are set up-​makes me nervous
As well the food is good but I wish they had refried beans like Acapulco

Anyhoo it’s a nice place but the service needs to be improved so we’re not always waiting for our server

My go to spot with the best friends from high school. Although the food here is gone way down hill. Taco Tuesday’s is always fun though! And it’s always empty so easy to find seats in the bar area. Their service could use some tweaking. Always super slow and you have to keep asking the waiters for things like salsa and water, which they should know to re fill themselves.

This place is a staple of Tustin. The staff is great, the place is comfortable, and the food is clean and well prepared. I especially love the fresh tableside guacamole. Taco Tuesday nights are great, and the cantina provides for a friendly environment when it’s time to knock back some tequila.

I’m a big fan of Taco Tuesday.
I’ve been to several of these chains and recently moved near this location. I find that no matter what time of day or day in the week service is terribly slow.
We waited about 10 minutes for our waiter to return to take our order. Another seven for table side guacamole. We asked the man serving the guacamole if we can order drinks from him and he said «yeah, I can take your drink order what do you want?»
So 15 minutes later no drinks. Waiter is running around but never stops to check in with us. We flag the manager down. He comes back & tells us we didn’t order any drinks. We told him we did from the man serving the guacamole. He leaves comes back and takes our drink order again.
35 minutes later our food arrives along with napkins & silverware. Nothing fancy just a Mexican salad & fajitas. Food is usually good and I had no complaints there.
40 minutes later our drinks arrive. Both are not what we ordered. I didn’t drink mine and my bf didn’t put the shot in his. When he came with the bill he brought my bf a shot of patron like he originally asked for and told him he was going to take my drink off the bill. When the new bill came out he had the drink I asked for but the bill only $ 2 off.
The manager and waiter blamed the whole mix up on the other man and apologized before we left.
This by far the worst customer service at this chain I’ve ever had & had to post.
If you want good service go elsewhere.

This place has really gone down hill in the last 10 years. I had the breakfast buffet and it was terrible. Really really bad! This place used to have such good food, now it’s just bad…
Our server was very good, but it doesn’t make up for the bad food. I really hope that someone of not gets wind of this and actually LOOKS into the quality of food being made there.

We went to lunch at 1pm today. There were only 3 other tables with customers. We ordered the all-​you-​can eat taco, enchilada & salsa lunch. There were 3 cold cheese enchiladas and no one to give us the tortillas or meats for the soft tacos. Once we found someone, she seemed a bit bothered by us asking for food. We asked for guacamole and she told us they didn’t have any. A Mexican food restaurant with no guacamole? Our waiter got us our drinks (2 sodas & a beer) and we never saw him again until he dropped the bill off and was gone.
Horrible service, bland & cold food.

El Torito is, at least, predictable. You know what you’re going to get and you know what it will taste like… no matter which El Torito you go to. The only thing that I found somewhat annoying was, of all things, the service level. It almost felt forced. My server was spot on and attentive but every time I said «Thank you» he would respond «No, thank you!» … funny at first but after a while it became annoying.
Spinach enchiladas were good. The spinach could have been cooked a little more. I like fresh but this was borderline raw. BF enjoyed the steak fajitas and was quite pleased. The margaritas were yummy.
I think the fine line between good service and great service is authenticity. A customer can always tell if his server, hostess and wait staff are enjoying their job or just doing what they are told. I hate to think that latter was true here…
