Portions a huge but I’m nervous I might get sick after eating here. The place is clean, but the food isn’t to par. I’d would of rather gone to pick up sticks. Tangerine chicken was decent but the spicy beef was weird… Never had beef with that kind of texture before. So I’d probably never come back especially since I got a fortune cookie with no fortune in it.

We went about 830 just prior to closing I guess. Orange Chicken as well as spicy beef were cold. The chow mien noodles were real mushy. Not, pleased and would, not go back again

We discovered this magical place while taking a stroll around our neighborhood! My husband loves, Loves, LOVES the Tangerine Chicken, and Ruby Chicken, and their humongous portion sizes. And since he rates his favor of Chinese places by comparing it to Panda Express, it was a huge compliment for him to say that he liked this place Better than Panda. Magic Wok has larger servings, more reasonable prices, and fresher food. And unlike Panda and a lot of other fast food Chinese places, Vegetarians/Vegans are accommodated here, too. They have a bunch of tofu entrees and they make them fresh and to your specifications. For those veggie-heads with a more neutral palate: the Tofu with Vegetables is non-fried and sauce-less(my mom’s favorite). And for those craving some spice and crunch; my favorites are the Tofu and Broccoli and Szechuan Tofu.

Loved the food! It’s a perfect place to bring your family and friends. They have great prices and the lunch and dinner specials are just too amazing. I love it here.

Update: they now charge an additional 50¢ for some menu items. This is insane because those items are already prepared in the back and just need to be heated. This place is not that busy where there is a need for a charge. Very disappointed!

If you have been going here for decades, rethink your decision. The new owners have made the food just terrible. You probably remember the orange chicken… they replaced the large pieces of good chicken with terrible little giblets. Their rice was hard and the noodles were missing something. You can tell they are losing businesses because the place is empty when usually it would be quite busy at dinner time. Most of the locals have figured it out. As said before by others, the new owner does not care and they do not speak to you when you walk in. If you remember the old place, there is nothing left here. If they do read this over there, I hope they understand its all about the quality they are cutting corners on.

this place just keeps getting worse and worse… ive sporadically come to this place since high school… thats just over 20 years… like a fine wine… left out with the cork off… this place gets more vinegary sour with age… it use to be solid… about eight so years ago… the owners were super cool asians who knew what they were doing… food was great, portions were ample and the price was competitive to say the least… then around six years or so ago they sold it… new owners where some other kind of asians… portions stayed good, prices went up a bit; at some point, it was an extra buck for bbq pork which was solid so why not, and some of the other stuff didnt taste as great… like the noodles… but we were regulars so they treated us well and we still enjoyed it… went in a month or so ago… new owners… whole different kind of asians… and now… holy baby jebus crying over a soiled diaper causing rash on his heavenly booty… its awful… prices arent worth the food… and the food isnt worth the price… i had my wife bring me lunch from this place earlier this week… simple… broccoli beef and vegetables… i ate the four strips of beef and six broccoli… but the vegetables… tasted… putrid… like they were from last week… out of the throw away of another restaurant… i kid you not… they were the worst vegetables i have ever seen or tasted in my life… i imagine… if you would go out in a field… pick vegetables… bring them home and not wash them… just cook the vegetables with the residue manure and pesticides on them and then… for good measure… flick a single solitary booger on them… they might not taste as bad as the offering from magic wok… it was seriously that bad… the only way to maybe make it worse was if like… they sold bottled tap water from mexico so you could wash down your meal… maybe… so anyhow… i didnt like it… this has become the kind of place that disappoints so much, that if they offered me like a free weekly meal for the entire year to make up for their shortcomings, i wouldnt even bother thinking of a hypothetical situation where they would offer me free weekly meals for the whole year… they are lucky to get one star… for like… the sake of sentimentality… but man not even that… the only reason is cause stupid Unilocal makes you give at least a star… seriously Unilocal… some places literally deserve minus stars… work on an algorithm for that… thats it… im dropping the mic… this place officially blows…

The Orange chicken was so old I could have bounced it off the wall I spit it back into my bowl and took it back to the the girl that worked behind the counter. She then dumped my food that I had chewed on and spit in to the bowl and put it back in with the rest of the orange chicken under the heat lamp. Then handed the same tray to the cook who just added more chicken and mixed it up. I told the girl that I had spit into the bowl and seen what she did she wild shrugged her shoulders and said yes my bosses are very cheap that’s what they do

The food at this specific location of Magik wok appears simple but the flavors have remarkable depth. The food that is being served is really hot and fresh with perfect blend of spices. I really like the service as the staff is also very courteous. There lunch special has no comparisons and is the ice breaker. I like the chow Mein and the Orange chicken. I visit usually 1 – 2 times a week. A must visit for all the food lovers!

I love this place! I eat here once a month, I work across the street so when I work late I stop by for a bite :) I love their $ 4.99 lunch special! Very sweet girl that works there, always smiling and talking to me in her cute accent :) I usually order chow mein, rice, and orange chicken and an ice tea :) I love how they play 80’s music on the radio… memories… :) And a large flat screen tv? how about some vh1 classic? :-D

I’ve been coming here for years. The food is still good but they’ve recently raised their prices and lowered their portions. It seems like they’ve changed ownership. I’ll probably look for a new option for Chinese in my area.

Worst chow mein I’ve ever eaten in my whole life. I know you get what you pay for but come on its like they didn’t even try cooking it. Can’t even try to explain the consistency of it, it was just awful. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone else at least the Hong Kong express down the street in Newport is more decent and has more selection. One thing that was good about the place was the staff and that was it.

My mom is a bus driver and has been coming to this location for years. She comes in on her breaks and always grabs something to bring home. I’ve always been a fan and finally got to come in and try this place full on. Walking in, we got greeted right away. The ladies know my mom so that is very sweet. The food looks fresh, smells amazing, and looks even better. I ordered the Sweet and Sour chicken, Chow Mein, and Broccoli Beef with 2 veggie egg rolls and sweet and sour sauce. My fiancé ordered the rice, and a chicken side and a beef side(I was not paying attention) my mom got her usual, whatever that is. The food is AMAZING. I haven’t had Chinese food this good in a very long time. The place itself is very cute, clean, and kept up. The bathrooms are clean and stocked. I can see why my mom loves this place. I cant wait to come back.

Very BIG portions! Food is good quality fast food. If you want something really fresh, order the Pad Thai or a War Wonton Soup! Been coming here for years, foods been very consistent. I recommend Magic Wok to Chinese food lovers!

I guess it would be worth it to come for the $ 4.99 lunch special that comes with a drink, but if you purchase a 2 entrée meal with a soda(only one refill) you’ll pay almost $ 10. The food isn’t great but edible.
