My husband had gotten a sleep study done at a hospital. While they were able to capture some data supporting apnea he had recalled it being very uncomfortable.(We would not have expected anything more given that it IS a hospital.) So when my two boys had to get this study done, I was a little nervous about it given that they were 9 and 7 and used to their very comfortable beds and the«plush» surroundings of their own bedrooms. Thankfully, my husband offered to stay with the boys during this study. I was picturing him being put in an uncomfortable chair trying to get in a few hours of sleep. We were so pleasantly surprised when he was given his own bed to sleep in! And the boys were both put in very comfortable beds, as well, with very nice bedding. The gentleman who was conducting the study was excellent with the boys and very professional. What did we expect? I’m sorry but normally when you have people working graveyard shifts in any other job… well…ya gotta keep those expectations low. That was not the case here! I might also add that my brother-in-law also got a sleep study done at a sleep lab around us and he said that it was so incredibly uncomfortable that he was tossing and turning all night. He swears that he didn’t sleep all night. So you can only imagine how surprised he was when he got a sleep report saying that he had slept long enough and that the data collected on him supported no apnea. Given that he is a mouth breather(and has been all his life) and a snorer he would’ve expected the report to have addressed these issues. Nothing. The report that we received on the boys addressed teeth grinding, restless legs, etc. Talk about a comprehensive report. To find a place with accommodations such as these is a no brainer for our family. I would not want to go to a lab, get all hooked up and find that I did not sleep long enough to have had adequate data captured. No way! So we would come here again!
