My uncle and his beloved companion poodle lived at Silverado Tustin Haciendo for eight years(January, 2008 to January, 2016) until he passed away from a brief illness. Throughout his years there, he was happy and healthy. Both he and his dog were loved and well cared for by the entire staff. I lived an hour away and visited weekly. No matter what day or what hour I came, residents were cared for and involved in a wide variety of activities. They were always well groomed and well dressed. Silverado helps them maintain their dignity. Over the eight years I interacted with all the staff — from housekeeping to administration. They work as a team and show great respect and concern for the residents and the residents’ families. The adminstration always worked with the family to ensure my uncle’s needs were met. The nursing staff and food services are excellent. The creative and compassionate Activities Director, Patty Riley, plans special events throughout the year for the residents and their families. This allows families to spend quality and fun time together. The entire facility received a «facelift» last year(new paint, new flooring, new carpets, new furniture and more). The grounds are well maintained. Silverado Tustin does not feel like an institution. It feels more like a boutique hotel. Yes, it is expensive. If you can afford it, I highly recommend Silverado Tustin Hacienda for your loved one with memory loss.

My father was a resident at Silverado for almost two years. He died, earlier this week. Although there were a few wonderful caregivers, and I am grateful to those individuals, I am highly dissatisfied with Silverado(I do agree that there are lots of smiles at the place.). It was not in my legal power to remove him from there. I spent thousands of hours at the facility, mostly being with my father, but also observing and trying to be an advocate for him. I will say much more at another time and«place». Substantially more than $ 7000 per month was paid for his being at Silverado. The following URL will take you to the 2013 Annual Report of Health Care REIT, which owns Silverado. The following quote is on page 3 of Form 10-K in the annual report: «Our primary objectives are to protect stockholder capital and enhance stockholder value.».

We placed a client at Silverado last year and could not be happier with the love, care and attention she has received. Silverado has such a warm, nurturing atmosphere. The activities and level of engagement are so good for the residents. All of the staff are well-trained and clearly care about the residents and enjoy their jobs. Unlike a lot of senior homes, this one is clean and does not smell. The rooms are kept tidy and feel homey. I love the dining area, food and service and how we can pop in anytime to eat, hang out or participate in one of the many activities offered. The weekly outings, trips to the farmers market and library are also wonderful. Silverado is expensive, but it is all inclusive and there are no hidden costs, especially as the level of care needed increases. I’ve already told my family that if I need to go to a memory care facility, this is where I want to be.

Run down environment! Unfriendly dog greets you at an old desk stuck in the entryway! It was confusing & immediately got the sense of disorganization… I had pre-screened my mom’s unique needs with Jasmine who although I stated we could not afford $ 5,000.00 per month she insisted I make appt. for a tour & discussion within 3 min. Of sitting in a dingy office she told me the monthly fee at this facility is $ 7,000.00 a month with ZERO negotiation… Wow hmmm 42 beds… that’s almost $ 300,000.00 per month!!! In downtown Tustin!!! I stated«What happens if a Resident runs out of assets & needs a Medi-Cal facility?» Her response«Oh that has never happened all our Residents have VAST wealth» So insulting & a sad commentary for Silverado Company! I walked out… and cried! A terrible money making operation!!!
