I went to college with Shumaila of So Cal Event Planners and when I was looking for a day of coordinator for my wedding reception, she came highly recommended. After an initial meeting with Shumaila where we went over all the details of the event, I was completely convinced to hire her. And honestly hiring Shumaila as a coordinator was the BEST decision we made in regards to the wedding planning process. She is diligent, responsible, professional and a completely dependable person to rely on for all your needs for your big(and stressful) day. An example of Shumaila’s thoroughness: Right before our grand entrance, my husband and I had dinner in our bridal suite(which of course Shumaila had taken care of, to ensure we were fed) and I realized that my red lipstick had worn off after eating. I called Shumaila in a panic, and lo and behold she had the exact shade of lipstick stowed away in her bag. Now that’s being RESPONSIBLE. Shumaila coordinated with all the vendors prior to the event to ensure that everything would run smoothly. We met several times before the event to ensure she had all the items needed to setup our place card table etc. She made sure that the food was ok, and properly filled, and coordinated with our photographer to ensure that all our most important shots get taken. Shumaila also coordinated our entrances along with the wedding party and essentially made sure that the event was coordinated, organized and as seamless as possible. If you feel that you don’t need a day of coordinator you are wrong! Hiring Shumaila ensured that myself along with my husband and our families and bridal party did not have to worry about a single detail and everything was taken care off; and we basically enjoyed the day and had a great time with our guests. Just hire So Cal Event Planners, pass the baton to Shumaila and wait for the magic to happen.

I was introduced to SoCal Event Planners through my decorator Nafisa(Nafees Occasions). I needed a day of the event coordinator for my Reception event of 400 guests and I had very specific plans prepared for how I wanted everything to flow during the Reception day. Shumaila gave GREAT suggestions on how I can improve my vision for the event and make it flow in a way that would be SUPER enjoyable for family and guests. Her team was amazing on the day of the event! I didn’t worry about a single thing because the communication I had w/Shumaila prior to the event assured me that I would not have to worry about a single thing. We received numerous compliments on how amazing the reception was and how much our guests loved the flow or how everything was handled. Shumaila is professional, calm, sweet and an amazing coordinator. I couldn’t imagine my wedding event without her presence. If you’re looking for a coordinator that goes above and beyond I definitely recommend that you choose SoCal Event Planners for your wedding festivity needs.

I found Shumaila by attending another person’s wedding and came to her needing a friend to vent to. She worked with my budget perfectly(very affordable!) and deserved much more than she asked for. Shumaila is a gem and I recommend all my friends and family to book her as soon as they know their wedding date! Halfway through my planning, I hired her for day-of coordination and she helped me with practically everything else. I don’t know if this was included or out of the goodness of her heart but I can’t imagine my wedding planning or my wedding day without her. She’s friendly, kind and patient. She knows her stuff and she goes above and beyond to make sure I was calm and stress free. She took so much stress out of the wedding planning and I am grateful for her services. I now have a new friend and if I did my wedding over, she would be the first person I would call. =)
