Garlic truffle French fries, so good. Staffs are all very friendly and helpful Prices seems to be reasonable considering how much work went into the food. Not a fan of the Porchetta though. Just a bunch of dried, hard, pork belly crumbs and fell all over the place as you tried to eat them.

My first time here and it lived up to the hype. The prime ribeye dip is to die for! I’ll definitely be back to try the fried cheese curds and everything on the menu sounds amazing! You won’t leave here hungry or disappointed.

I ordered a poutine, tbh forgot which one, but probably short rib. It took forever and the associate offered to give me a free… yes, POTATOSALAD! It was honestly a really nice gesture, but alas, I hate potato salad and I really wanted to try the brussel sprouts, but I wasn’t allowed to get brussel sprouts instead so I felt like a jerk overall. Didn’t really know how to handle this without feeling like a jerk for not liking what was offered as a kind gesture for taking 20 minutes for my order. That was my first kroft experience ever. When the poutine did come, I thought it was pretty good. So did my friend. Every time I’ve come back, which has been three times, was for the new chicken parmesan sandwich. It’s so good and I know I could definitively whip something similar at home, but I don’t have the kind of time to bread my own chicken breast right now and the three chicken parmesan experiences have been great. Except I always get it to go and when I open up the bag there are never any napkins inside and I feel defeated. I should probably get my own napkins but a girl forgets you know. So besides all the awkward experiences, I give it a 4 because it’s pricey-ish for its simplicity and the workers are a bit spacey sometimes, but it’s tasty and keeps me coming back since life’s been hectic and the Kroft has conveniently fed me during this busy season.

4 stars overall, 2 of them go for the service of this place. They screwed up our order(just garlic fries), so they ended up putting extra fries in our order and gave us fried cheese curds AND a dipping sauce for free. 1 star for the location. I HATE going to the Packing District because the lines to every eateries in there are just ridiculously long. I love this location because its not too busy. 1 star for good food. We tried the garlic fries(and they didn’t joke around about the«garlic» part. it was seriously so garlicky, which I love) and short rib poutine, which has plenty of meats in there. We also got fried cheese curds as freebies from them screwing up our order, and I think its pretty tasty too. Here’s ONE thing that made me take one star out: salt. EVERYTHING was just sooooo damn salty. There is just too much salt! They put salt on the fries itself and top it with some salty topping. Gravy for the short rib poutine was a bit too salty too. The fried cheese curds. oh man. How could the breading be saltier than the cheese itself I had no idea. Its good food, too bad I won’t be returning because aside of the 1 hour drive, their food in general is too salty(I could count one dish being salty as coincidence, but all three?!)

To my extended family in Toronto, I no longer have to visit you. We have poutine in America now. Take that, eh! The Kroft’s menu is not elaborate but some of the items they do very well. I have tried most of the main things you would want to try, except for the porchetta. Short Rib Poutine — Hands down their best dish! Lots of fries buried under big chunks of marinated beef short rib, mushrooms, cheese curds, pickled red onions and lots of gravy. Crunchy and soggy, salty and sweet and tart, there’s a little of all the opposites that mix together just right. Shareable between 2 – 4 people, depending on what else you order. Country Fried Chicken Poutine(Country Gravy, Chicken Nuggets, Bacon, Cheese Curds, Green Onion) — Unfortunately this just can’t match up with Short Rib Poutine. The chicken doesn’t pop, the gravy is more on the tame side. Kroft Fried Chicken Sandwich — The fried chicken on the poutine isn’t anything whoa, but the fried chicken sandwich is very good. A very large chicken breast piece with cabbage jalapeño slaw and garlic mayo on a French roll. Chicken was tender and juicy inside and crispy and freshly fried on the outside. The first location opened at the Packing House in Anaheim. This location at the District is much more chill. No crazy waits, plenty of seating. Food quality is the same. It took awhile for them to finish construction but I’m glad they finally opened up at the District!

Yum! Porchetta sandwich and poutine! What a combination. And, these guys do a legit job with both of them. They come very close to being as good as Roli Roti. It’s just that Roli Roti does not chop up the meat as much as The Kroft and adds a bit more of the cracklings. Roli Roti’s got a bit for fattiness as well which I like. So far, this will be my «go to» place whenever I’m in SoCal. Their Short Rib Poutine was decadent and hit the spot! I will be sure to come back here with more people so that we can order some of the sides, etc. Great job guys!

We came here on an accident. We were checking out the menu to see if there was anything we wanted, but they were doing last calls and we were the last in line, so we thought we might as well try something out. So we ended up deciding to get the Chicken Pot Fries Poutine as well as the Kroft Fried Chicken Sandwich. I’ve had their poutine when they first opened at the Anaheim Packing District, and this time tasted the same as the first. Still really good. The sandwich was really good too. The flavors for both were on point! Really enjoyed my dinner that night! We came when they were about to close, but they were very accommodating with us even though we were their last customers of the night. So customer service here was exceptional! Really friendly and helpful! I’d say that the prices for these 2 items that we had were about average for the portion size that we got. Since this location is in The Union Market at The District, parking is a pain!!! I usually just park either by Whole Foods/Aqui Homes or closer to Ulta, and just walk over. All in all, really enjoyed the food we had that night. I fell in love with poutine when I first had it years ago from The Lime Truck when they first opened, and this place did not disappoint my craving! Highly recommend it!

The poutine was as close to what I had in Vancouver as I’ve had in the states. Fries covered with rich gravy and cheese curds. I do wish the cheese was more melted, though. I also ordered the porqueta sandwich. Chopped toasted pork with crackling skin, tender meat, arugula, between ciabatta bread. Again, I’ve had a better version in Vancouver, but this is a great sandwich.

Food is not bad here. The French dip sandwich was tender and juicy. I wolfed it down pretty fast :) The fried chicken poutine was very filling and heavy. It definitely is a meal in itself! We ate lunch at 1pm and I’m still feeling pretty stuffed at 4:45pm, so it appears it’s very heavy in fat. We didn’t even finish the poutine too. Guess it’s a dish best to share amongst several people.

Omgahhhhhhhhhhh why didn’t I come sooner?! I had been living across the street from this place for almost a year and decided to finally come when hubby and I were moving! We were referred to The Kroft by the bartender inside of the Union Market. So we got the short ribs fries with gravy and an added fried egg. My mouth is literally drooling as I write this review. Definitely a must try! It’s a big portion, and try it with their spicy mayo sauce(i think that’s what it’s called)

The Kroft has been popping up a lot lately as one of those places that looks really good, but I’m not always in the mood for. However, after having the poutine at Holsteins a few weeks ago, I was dying to compare it to a place that specializes in that wonderful mix of fries, sauce, cheese curds, and meat. So, what did we get here? I opted for a direct comparison with what I had at Holsteins – the Short Rib Poutine. My wife went for something a bit more unique and Katsu Chicken Curry Poutine. Both were delicious. And filling. Boy were they filling. Easily two meals out of one poutine kind of filling(and they microwave really well). Anyway, the short rib poutine was great. Nice mix between the perfectly tender short ribs, the mushrooms in the gravy, and the onions. I really liked the curry poutine though. Something about a massive heaping pile of curry sauce on top of fries was surprisingly good. Odd paring with the cheese curds(though they seem to be required for a poutine) and the carrots, but all in all, it was pretty amazing. Also had a chance to try their drink of the day, a cucumber-mint-lemonade. Being a fan of lemonade, cucumber, and mint, it was a no-brainer, and paired nicely with the poutines. And to top it all off, the staff was very friendly and helpful in recommending their favorites on the menu. We’ll definitely be back.

At last, it’s identical twin has made its way to Tustin. This place has the«poutine concept» just like the original location, but I think the consistency is a bit off. The cheeseburger fries were good, but a bit heavy handed on the salt and the fries were left in the fryer a couple seconds too long. I missed the crunchy exterior and soft interior on my fries as it was just crunchy all the way through. I was a bit turned off too, when leaving and peering into the window, the guy making a sandwich was also texting(or something on his phone), touching the food he was prepping and his phone at the same time. Don’t know if it was for himself or a customer, either way not something I want to know about, let alone see. P. s. Secret sauce is thousand island just in case you are a yay or nay to it.

I visited the Kroft in the Anaheim Packing House and I became an instant Short Rib Poutine addict. When I heard that there’s now a new Kroft location in the Tustin District’s Union Market, I knew I needed to check it out and feed my addiction. What is Poutine? It’s a dish that originated in Quebec that brings together French fries, gravy, and cheese curds into a creation so rich I swear it’ll slow down your heart a little. It’s decidedly not healthy fare but OMG it’s delicious! The Kroft takes it one step further by putting a tender mound of shredded short rib on top. Praise the Lord, and pass the Poutine! :-) The lines at the new Union Market location aren’t as bad as the ones for the original location AND you can sit and sip a cup of premium java from Portola afterwards. Life is good, and I’ll be back :-)

3.5 stars. I ordered the Kroft Fried Chicken Sandwich, $ 8.50(generous piece of chicken, with the light batter providing a delightful crunch as you bite into it; the mildly-spicy jalapeño slaw paired well with the fried sandwich; I wasn’t too impressed with the French Roll… the bread can make or break it for me). Frying them twice must be the difference; the French Fries, $ 4, were fresh-off-the-fryer hot(love that!), tasty, and the pineapple habanero accompanying dip I chose had a nice kick! I’d want to sample more of their interesting menu items. Not much of a view, but good people-watching opportunities — wish they had purse hanger hooks under those counter-height tables.

I’ve been going to The Kroft at the Packing District in Anaheim for a while but frankly I think I might be getting sick of this place. There are only so many times I can eat fries smothered in gravy and cheese. They do have a nice variety of different things though, such as more varieties of fancy poutine(like loco moco and braised short rib), a good selection of drafts, and some sandwiches. I can’t vouch for the sandwiches though, so good luck everybody. I have an issue with this specific location because my poutine came out lukewarm and oversalted. I couldn’t finish more than half of it because it was so underwhelming. The first time I had this at the other location I was in junk food heaven, but after eating it 3 times in the last 3 weeks i’m out. They were also out of their cucumber lemonade(I didn’t like it too much at the other location, but I thought I would give it another shot), with no indication that they ever offered it at all.

HELLODELICIOUSFOOD… so i know the union market recently opened up at the district and i decided valentines day was the day to try out this new hipster food! i have heard about the kroft from the anaheim packing district and when frantically researching a place to impress a special somebody i came across this beauty. very casual but yes, if you’re wondering i did impress… hehe because the kroft has the come up with delicious sandwiches and poutines!!! so once you locate this gem inside the union market you wait in line, make your order with the super dope and friendly staff, retrieve your buzzer, find a place to sit, then pick up your food when the buzzer goes off! food: –braised short rib poutine($ 10): i never knew what a poutine was until coming here and bless the person who created this because it is bomb af!!! there is enough short rib to fries and veggies. seriously recommend this out of all the poutines! the only note is that honestly, finish it when you get it because its really not that great if you take it and microwave it the next day LOL if i didn’t order so much i would of finished. HIGHLYRECOMMEND! –short rib melt sandwich($ 10): HELLOOOO amazing. short rib seems to be a trend with me at this visit and i found this to be simple yet very delicious on that crispy ciabatta bread. only note was it did have a bit too much pickled onions but hey if it doesn’t suit your fancy just pick some off! recommend if you’re a first timer –kroft fried chicken sandwich($ 8.50): for the price it was packed with lots of fresh flavors and the add ins really complimented the chicken. this was great! not sure if i prefer this over the short rib but honestly if you’re coming with another person get both and split it :) thats what i did and my belly was pretty happy! –fried cheese curds($ 4): not sure if id get this again. i got it for the person i was with and he wasn’t too into the taste of the cheese but if you’re a big cheese lover then get it. quite simple and great price. kroft thanks for making feel so full that i couldn’t move after… literally i had to sit in my car and take in all the good food i had. highly recommend for a great lunch or dinner! come with someone and share all the goodness they have to offer :)

Enjoyed both this one and the one at Packing House. Can’t say I’ve tried something that I didn’t like. Here I will rank the poutines I’ve tried… 1. Braised Short Rib(Packing House) — Will always be the safe option. Rich in flavor with the mushrooms and pickled red onions. 2. Loco moco Poutine(Only available at Union Market) — Very unique in flavor. Definitely have never tried anything like it. 3. Country Fried Chicken(Packing House) — The country gravy, chicken nuggets, and bacon are all a great combination. Love the flavor profile of this poutine I am a huge fan of appetizers and sides; therefore, I was quite happy looking at the menu with the countless unhealthy options. Overall: Recommend! Go in and share one or all of their unique poutines’. I am sure the Brussel sprouts and chili mac n’ cheese will be delicious as well.

They’ve opened a location here at the Union Market in Tustin, and I’m elated! It’s a much larger, roomier location compared to the one in the Anaheim Packing House, and even on a Friday evening, I didn’t feel anywhere near claustrophobic or rushed like I do at the Packing House. I ordered my usual favorite, the Country Fried Chicken Poutine, and it was amazing! The chicken was freshly deep fried and still crispy, the fries weren’t soggy from the gravy, and the cheese curds were at that perfect melty, slightly chewy consistency. Poutine is honestly just the perfect comfort food! It’s a big portion, and very heavy, so I usually share it with someone. The Union Market is such a wonderful place, the Kroft was a wonderful addition!

I may upgrade the review, if I can get what I want next time and I also order a poutine. Funny thing, I’ve been wanting to come back to The Kroft ever since I went to a Unilocal event at the Anaheim packing house over a year ago LOL and I had that crack chicken pot pie pountine. I just didn’t want to deal with the clusterfuckness of it so I never went back really and now that I’m away from the area, Irvine is my new baby and it’s time to mark my territory in these parts: D SO, one day while I was drooling at all the Food porn on Instagram, I saw the Turkey Holiday sammie, basically Thanksgiving in between two buns and I knew how much I loved the interpretation of Thanksgiving sandwiches from my beloved dearly missed Soul Burger and my neighbor Burntzilla. So it only made sense to come to The Kroft and try their holiday sammie. Before I go to The district, I have to meditate before entering that horribly comings and going’s of a clusterfuck shopping center. So I said I shall go around 3:45, it’s after the Lunch rush and before the dinner rush. You’d think that was a good idea NOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! And I’ll tell you why. I stroll across the street and I walk in that bitch like I know exactly what I WANT! Until!!! I order o_O. I said I want the Holiday turkey sammie and the young lady wasted no time saying sorry we ran out. WTFWTFWTF! I’m starting to really dislike places who have 4 hours left to service and they say some dumbshit like we ran out. So no turkey sammies for dinner service either. This is the kind of thing that makes me put a place at the bottom of my return list. I’d get if I roll up an hour left to service but 3 plus is unacceptable. Thank god I had a second choice in mind. I went with the porchetta. I love Porchetta and it would have been my first choice if they didn’t serve a seasonal item but my taste buds weren’t in a porky mood and no way did I go through parking lot hell just to turn around and walk away. So I sat my fluffy ass down and OMG was I freezing. This was over a month ago when it was super cold!!! It would have been nice to close those windows and doors to the right. Also makes food colder much faster. Anywho, I got served my sammie and started tasting. It was good. Super fresh, crispy and flavorful. Somehow I got full after two bites and the cashier came by to check on me and I said can I get a to go bag. She said that’s all you’re eating. I said I’m full but she gave me this look like«Yea right bitch, you didn’t like this shit.» I did but my mental said«Bitch, I wanted the holiday sandwich, so my hunger isn’t cooperating.» I was turned off by this and it was so cold in there I wasn’t comfortable so alI I wanted to do was leave and off I went. My sandwich tasted so much better when I got home, slapped on a thin slice of provolone, sprinkled on pepper flakes and popped it in the toaster oven. So much better!!! So with that, my sandwich was good, it’s not what I wanted but it is what it is and The kroft is on my shit list with other places who have a shit ton of time left to make more food!!!
