We stayed for a night as we visited Two Harbors and the Duluth Area. The hotel is close to a grocery store, McDonalds, and smaller quaint shops. You are also very close to the harbor and to other big attractions in the area. Two Harbors is kinda small and not much to see, but Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse, Duluth, and many other attractions are close by. The rooms and service was great. We splurged and got a whirlpool Jacuzzi room. It was worth it, it was fun to watch TV and soak.

Service at the front desk was great. Bed was horribly uncomfortable. Walls are very thin. We could hear the conversation of the people next door. Be prepared to listen to snowmobiles late into the evening if it’s winter. Room was clean and neat.

The staff at check in was very pleasant and upbeat. She greeted and welcomed us as soon as we walked through the door then went through where all the hotel amenities were located(pool, hot tub, ice machine, free breakfast, mini golf). We enjoyed our stay in a jacuzzi king room along with the free round of mini golf and hot tub later in the night. The only negatives were that it is situated next to a graveyard and the morning breakfast wasn’t anything to write home about but was nice to have a few snack options before checking out.

Country Inn of Two Harbors was fine for one night but I wouldn’t recommend it for an extended stay. Our room had been recently remodeled and the furnishings were updated. But strangely the bathroom had not been remodeled and although it was clean and well maintained, it was old and dated looking. Our king bed was mostly comfortable but the comforter was rough and not very nice to sleep with. The room featured a large, two-person Jacuzzi tub right next to the bed… It was very peculiar. I guess they must have given us the honeymoon suite or something… During our stay the air conditier didn’t seem to be working correctly and was very loud throughout the night. I actually ended up wearing ear plugs because it was keeping me awake. After seeing the included breakfast in the morning we opted to just walk across the parking lot to McDonald’s.

Stayed here for Grandma’s Marathon and so happy I did. It is obvious from some prior reviews that a renovation took place because I find no fault with the hotel or the staff. Everybody went out of their way to make runners comfortable from complimentary water and fruit inn the room at check in to having breakfast service on race day start at 4am. I’ve travelled for a lot of races and never once has a hotel done as much as this one did. Taking the small town location into account I don’t hesitate to give it 5-stars, if I run Grandma’s again I’ll stay here.

The place is quite a worth for your money. It was neat, heard they remodeled recently and oh yeah they have a McDonalds and a Subway in the vicinity. The breakfast was like any other complimentary breakfast in hotels. Not the best, not the bad and the mini golf and swimming pool is a major plus for this place. The room was decent with an excellent collection of cable choices. We took a queen bed as it was the only available room when we planned the trip and it was comfy. The bath was good too and I have nothing to complain about. I missed the turn while on the US61 as it said 7th avenue in the address. Its really in the US61 on your right while traveling towards Split Rock from Duluth. Not to mention, they have coffee and it was just one blend(Breakfast blend) throughout the day. Again an average blend and I thought more choices would’ve been great. It is an overall satisfying experience however it could have been a lot better.

Had my parents come up from the cities and spend the week end at the country inn. Great place to stay. Nice sized room. Very comfortable bed. Very affordable. I manage a local business and will be recommending everyone to stay here. Also for local folks you can swim for $ 5 dollars a head. Pool was very warm a pleasant to spend time in.

Great place! New owner, all remodeled. Like a whole new place. Bright beautiful lobby. Nice breakfast spacious area. Remodeled modern rooms and comfortable quet beds and rooms! Nice that there’s a McDonalds next door. Mini gold and pool area, so that was nice with kids with. Sits back off the road, so quieter than the other hotels in the area. Friendly staff, no complaints here, A+ stay and place all around!

Nice place! Rooms recently updated. Comfortable beds… nice finishes… etc. Reasonable rate for a room with king bed. Also had a microwave and a decent size mini-fridge. I would not hesitate to stay there again, it’s a nice place to stay. I travel a lot and stay at a lot of places with more«stars» so I am picky with smaller motels. This one impressed me. My only minor nitpick is their cable TV is analog. Nice modern HDTV with a 70s era standard def signal which looks terrible and doesn’t fill the screen. Again– minor complaint but seriously, it’s not that hard to fix.

I have been here twice in 3 weeks for library author events. I’m glad I gave it a second shot because the first time didn’t do it for me. I was in the lumpiest double bed, and tossed and turned all night. Bathroom was standard, and all the rooms have the protective thing attached to the tub so you don’t slip. Last weekend I booked a king bed in a handicapped access room. Big difference. This bed I slept through the night. I was up at 5:30 and took a shower. This tub had all the bells and whistles. I even got the tall toilet which has been an obsession of mine for awhile. I was almost tempted to stay an extra night. Considering the other hotels and resorts around, this place is cheap. At the desk they have coupon discounts for the Vanilla Bean Café up the road. The landmark, right next to McDonalds, just in case. A nice location on the main road and the grounds are nice too.

The management is completely unprofessional and the staff follows suit. Mostly they just sit behind the front desk and talk(loudly) about all the gossip around town. The«free» round of mini golf seems nice, until you look outside and see that you will need to wade through dandelions and that the course is covered with pine needles. Taking a shower is fine, if you like cold water because it never got better than lukewarm. My kids liked the pool, but it is tiny, can’t really hold more than 6 – 8 people. The breakfast is OK, had better, had worse. Sadly, it was probably the best part of the stay, but I certainly won’t go back.
