The only port in a storm, or only restaurant in the area brought us to Boonies. the entrees seemed to over priced for what they were so we decided on burgers. turned out the the $ 12 burgers were made from frozen patties, not impressed. Beer was available on tap [good] or in cans [bad]. Next time we will travel the extra half hour and dine in Salisbury.

I always have a lovely time here! Food is always great! Some of the wait staff needs to learn their menu but other than that, I’ve never been disappointed.

We didn’t expect much because of previous negative reviews, but we had nothing to complain about. We enjoyed sitting outside under the beautiful conifers. We loved the jumbo steamed shrimp, mako fish tacos and a great burger. Evo 3 on tap enhanced the local experience.

Average food, slow service(10 min to get a beer), forgot the side with our sandwich, only reason I’ll go back is for convince.

Have been to Boonies at least 10 times over the last 5 or 6 years, and it’s never great, but this last time was not even good. Wife and I both got broiled seafood platter, which consists of a thin, frozen piece of flounder, with a couple of shrimp on it, some crab imperial, that was all cream and not much crab, then a really terrible, bread filled, fried crab cake. My wife got salad as a side and asked for it to be brought in advance of the meal, but had to ask again. The macaroni and cheese I got was just ok. My son’s meal was the best one at the table and it was free, bc kids eat free on Saturday nights. It seems to me that the Southern Boys are letting Boonies go downhill. Maybe the sandwiches are better. It’s a shame, because we really used to like going there, but now not worth the drive.

While the food was definitely worth the trip, $ 7.95 for a very small glass of sangria(which contained at least half ice) was egregious!

We sat outside and enjoyed the broiled seafood platter and apple cobbler. The drinks looked delicious. The kids played lawn games. We gave an extra tip for great service.

Ordered the broiled seafood platter at $ 24. The flounder, which had been frozen, was seriously dry from being over cooked. The crab cake was tolerable. The stuffed shrimp had a funny taste to them. The asparagus was the best thing on the plate. My date had the Chicken Chesapeake — crab imperial on top of a boneless, skinless chicken breast. The chicken was serious over cooked, tough and dry. The imperial was middle-of-the-road. Both entrees were a huge disappointment. At no time did our server ever ask how our food was. For dessert we ordered a chocolate bundt cake that was to be covered in chocolate sauce and include vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. We received it with just the cake and the sauce. When told about the missing ingredients, our server brought a bowl of ice cream. I then instructed her that I wanted the dessert to resemble the description in the menu. She went and made a new one. For the money, this was a huge disappointment. I’d go back for lunch or a burger, but it seems they’re over their head when it comes to dishes that go beyond simple, even the dessert.

Yeah it may be down the road a bit, but I guarantee it’s worth it to make the trip. The food is excellent, fresh locally grown meat, produce etc. This place is owned by the same folks who own SoBo’s, so you know it’s going to be top notch in freshness! The wait staff is very attentive .kudo’s to «Aspen» for turning me on to a Black Cherry Crush! Yummmmmm Great happy hour specials, live music and a tiki bar to quench your thirst. Wednesday is burger night and let me tell you, you won’t be disappointed!
