Well we walked in made one tour and walked out. The«deli» had food that had been sitting for quite awhile and you could smell the burnt grease. The person working there was unfriendly and didn’t want to be bothered. I wouldn’t waste your time stoping.

Tygh Valley General Store is a regular country market. It’s a gathering place for the locals, and a stop to pick up snacks and refuel the car for travelers. Need to stock up on your beef jerky and corn dogs for the road? They’ve got ‘em. Plus plenty of gum, candy, drinks, crackers, cookies and coffee to go. They’ve also got a few items of fresh produce and things like dry goods, pet food, hunting and fishing supplies, and entertainment like books and movies. The prices are sky-high, but they’re the only shop around, so, tough; remember, you’re paying for the«convenience.» My mom and I went in there a few days ago for lunch on our jaunt through central Oregon. I think one of the store employees overheard me lament the lack of nutritious/healthy options in the store because she gave me the stank-eye every subsequent time I walked past her. So city slickers beware – you will stick out like a sore thumb here. Also, fair warning: the bathroom is a bright yellow outhouse around back. That’s not entirely bad, but scrawled on the inside of the outhouse were a smattering of racial epithets and slurs against Obama and his supposed 2nd Amendment policies. I grew up in this area and to see that the attitude of at least some of the locals is still so backwards was fairly disturbing/disappointing. I’d say hold your business until you get somewhere else.
