Was really excited about this place. Love Thai food and always order the pad Thai anytime I’m trying a new Thai place. Little Thai House in Longview spoiled me. It’s the absolute best. Friendly staff when ordering. She even offered to put extra spice on the side to see if I would like their«spicy». The pad Thai came out with some kind of reddish sauce covered all over. Never seen it like that. Also soggy red onion. Never saw that in pad Thai before. First bite had the spice I was looking for but it was very sweet. The chicken was not very good in the dish and also the meal was just too sweet. I was trying to place the flavor of the sauce with the couple of bites I took, but the only thing I could come up with was A cherry sauce. It just didn’t fit for me at all. Didn’t enjoy the meal at all. Couldn’t even take more than 5 bites. Left a full plate and was very disappointed. Will most likely not go back. For those who gave this place such a great rating, I encourage you to take a trip to Longview to eat at little Thai house or any other Thai restaurant.

BTC is always consistent and tasty. If you can catch the sticky rice mango available for desert be sure and pick up an order.

Delicious yellow curry! Customer service was fantastic. Staff went above and beyond normal counter service. Will even give you extra jasmine rice to take home with your leftovers! Definitely coming back soon!

My husband and I have been eating here for years. We moved away 3 years ago and every time we visit Tyler we stop on for a bite. It is always good. We order the Basil Fried Rice and the Massaman Curry. You can’t beat the consistency of their fantastic food. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy in an old strip center but don’t let that deter you. Well worth it every time.

Good food and friendly service. Simple and affordable place that offers the only Thai food that I’m aware of in Tyler.

I’ve experienced better for sure. I’m fairly convinced the purveyors are Thai, not actual Taiwanese, as it appears they were speaking Siamese to each other and not a Hokkien twist on Mandarin. Nevertheless, I’ll let the other reviewers guess their national/ethnic heritage as they see fit. The food is overpriced and not very good. I ordered the pineapple fried rice. I *love* real pineapple rice, and eat as much as I can when I’m in the Orient. This stuff, by comparison, was $#|+. It was a really, really grossly-sick sweet gooey rice with some canned pineapple tossed in. If I had to categorize it, I’d call it ‘dumpster fusion’. Also ordered the coconut soup. I won’t dwell on the negatives, but let’s say my thoughts are in-line with my feelings about the rice. Spendy…two items and a tea came to twenty bucks. On the lunch menu. Didn’t eat half of it. When Unilocal asks if it’s good for groups, I’d have to say yes, as the place is completely empty at noon, and there’s tons of tables and chairs available. Maybe grab some donuts from next door and sit here.

Ate spicy chicken fried rice, nothing to complain. Be careful with spices level.

Really enjoyed the food here! It tasted authentic for Tyler Texas. I ordered the pad Thai and it was a decent sized amount of food, but it was on the expensive side in my opinion. Really friendly staff there and not to far from the university, so it’s good for students who need to grab a quick lunch or something. All in all the place was pretty good. Definitely recommend going here and definitely coming back!

In my opinion, there was nothing special about this restaurant nor the food. The place was packed and evidently people liked what they were getting. But for the price of the food and the amount of the food, it was a tough sell. The two pictures that I’ve posted one was the teriyaki chicken, admittedly the lunch portion, but it was $ 9.99 and the red curry chicken which again was the lunch portion it was like 10.99. Look at the chicken teriyaki, you have some chunks of chicken and some broccoli, some carrots, and a big scoop of rice. That small amount of food for $ 10, I don’t think so. The taste was okay or good, but the value was not there. Just not my thing.

Kind of disappointed with this place. I was reading all the reviews and finally decide to drive an hour to try since it is the only Thai Restaurant in piney woods region near my town. The food is not authentic and it is pretty pricy comparing to other asian restaurants. The portion is so small with the price set averagely $ 10.99 per dish. Don’t wanna come again!

I ordered take out over the phone and my food was ready sooner than expected. Staff was friendly and I immediately knew I would be coming back. Their Pad Thai and Coconut Soup were delicious. I had enough for a few meals. Overall it was a great experience and I know I’ll become a regular there. Coming from Dallas where I have a variety of options to take care of my Asian food cravings, I feel limited here in Tyler but this place will work. It’s close to home and the food was great. I did feel like it’s a bit pricey(I have been to delicious Thai restaurants that give you more for less money) but I think it’s worth it.

We absolutely love Basil Thai café! The food is always wonderful! The spicy Basil dinner and the yellow curry are our favorites! We enjoy coming here as often as we can, best Thai food in East Texas!

Very disappointed in this place. I saw all the good reviews and was excited for great Thai food. First off, the inside was pretty sketchy looking. The spring rolls were delicious, I will give them that, but then we got our food and it was terrible. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and my mom ordered the Yellow Curry with Shrimp. We spent around $ 30 ordering two dishes and two drinks and we ended up eating a few bites, walking out, and going and grabbing burgers from Juicy’s instead of eating what we paid for. I am used to eating really good Thai food made by actual Taiwanese people and this place didn’t compare at all.

Absolute favorite restaurant in Tyler. We found this place about 9 months ago and it has become our favorite little spot. We order carry-out just about every week and 9 times out of 10 our food tastes exactly the same(delicious) every time. Thai fried rice with three stars for me, Kua Kai for my wife. You can get up to five stars but I don’t recommend it. I tried that the one of the first few times I came here and it was not fun. The restaurant isn’t anything spectacular to look at, it’s in a kind of crummy shopping center and the interior is just a large dining room with a counter that you order at. The place is always clean though and they keep it pretty cool in there. Highly recommended.

Any resemblance between the food served here and actual Thai food is poorly coincidental. The staff was nice. They don’t even have lime. The yum nuah was made with soy sauce. Lesson learned: eat bbq when in Texas.

Let me start by saying this, Tyler Texas and Thai food are not really two thing you put together. However this place is amazing! There is Wonderful customer service here and they are very helpful with explaining the menu. The Food is fabulous and the serving sizes are huge, so plenty of left overs. I’ve been to plenty of Thai restaurants in different areas, and truth be told, none are glamours really inside, and the best ones tend to be focused more on great food then a pretty building and décor. Don’t forget it’s a different culture, the place is clean and has quality food, and it is BYOB. This place gets 100%. I’ll be Coming back often!

Pad Thai Noodle is very good, substantial portions, plenty of chicken or shrimp. Portion is enough for two meals which validates the price. Appetizer pot stickers and fried shrimp both a little over cooked outside, but delicious inside. Atmosphere is blinding bright American café with a TV and Thai décor/treasures on the walls. Staff are extra friendly. Note: I hail from Portland OR which is known for its excellent Thai cuisine. Basil Thai Café in Tyler is pretty darn good.

This is the perfect place for a medium length lunch. Unfortunately, they don’t have a lunch menu or have lunch-sized portions. Located in a strip mall, the interior is unimpressive and has no ambiance. However, if the food is good, who cares. I’ve order the pad thai and pineapple fried rice. Both passed the grade, but weren’t anything to get too excited about. Probably the best in Tyler though. Requested spiciness is true to form, so don’t get brave unless you have the stones. Portions are much too large for lunch. I usually will take the rest to go and have it for lunch the next day. There isn’t much in the way of service. You order counter style and find an open table. They’ll bring you your food, but everything else is self-serve. However, I did find the people taking your order have been nice and patient in helping patrons pick from the menu. They explain the dishes without becoming impatient. 4 stars for decent quick Thai fare, although dinner is probably the better option.

You won’t come for the atmosphere, just some AMAZING Thai food. A very simple layout that’s perfect for a work lunch. I try to make it here at least once a week with some buddies of mine. I always get the yellow curry chicken with at least 2 – 3 stars(spiciness). You can’t go wrong with the pad thai as a first timer either. They also have the best egg rolls anywhere! Just do it! You know you want to…
