Chamblee’s Rose Nursery

First of all, the reason that Chamblee’s Rose Nursery is not « Unilocal’ed «is probably because most customers are mail order customers.

That’s 41 roses, if you are counting, back in February for planting in Georgetown, TX.
Since then, the roses have all doubled in size, and I have about 10 blooms so far. Survival rate: 100%
The roses from the Kordes development program are slightly more vigorous than the other roses… Least vigorous, Nacodoches, Grandma’s Yellow Rose. Most vigorous, Kordes Sunbeam Veranda…
I have another 100 – 200 roses to add, but my wife is making me stretch it over several years, to prolong the enjoyment… Seriously. Maybe I am weird, but planting roses, and watching them grow is entertaining!
I was a bit worried about the size of the roses I bought, but it all worked out fine.

Have made the trip from Dallas to Tyler as often as I can for roses here.
They are knowledgable, have a huge, healthy inventory, and prices are good.
Too bad other reviewer had issues w/​them not being open, they are after all a wholesale nursery, not a retail store. Chamblees is considered one of the premier rose growers in the state, if not in the nation. They are on top of the latest, EarthKind, Kordes, etc. Not pretty, but well worth the drive.

So my husband and I did our research, and this is the place to buy rose plants. We drove out to Tyler from Dallas this past saturday only to find the place closed, and their website had specifically listed that they would be open New Year’s Day. We called and left a message, and never received a response or an apology for flaking out on their posted hours. However, their stock looks amazing, so we will be back. Just a suggestion, call the day of and double-​check their hours. On our next visit, I’ll rerate them accordingly.
