I don’t like giving places one star and I hesitated to give one here because of how good the doctors are at their jobs and with their patients. Sadly, the rude and unprepared office staff, that probably can’t even spell«customer service», ruin this otherwise fine medical establishment. The staff make us redo the office paperwork, even though we had filled out this same paperwork on previous visits. Why do we need to do it again? After a very good visit with the doctor, who deserves 5 stars, the office staff tells us we need to pay $ 100 or 10% of the visit(which is not correct). We have been down this same road before multiple times with this same office staff. We tell them we only need to pay $ 30 – 40 and they insist on $ 100. Two months later we will get a check in the mail for $ 60 – 70. This is absurd. We pay the $ 100 to avoid a major scene and we will have to wait to get our $ 60 – 70 refund back in two months. We will not be returning to this office. Which is sad since the doctor is so much better than his office staff.

You would think things were better after first visit, nope. Office was extremely rude & unprepared. They must have lost my original file since I had to fill out all the paperwork again. What was really irritating was no matter how many times I mentioned I was deaf/hard-of-hearing, they would shrug it off, keep walking & talking, or ask/talk while looking away. Staff wasted most of the time just trying to figure out which room I was supposed to go to. Doctor did good, just a quick 5 – 10 minute checkup and we were done. Whole ordeal took 65min.

I had a great experience with ENT associates of East TX. I had a great deal of sinus infections which lead to a chronic problem. I saw Dr. Callander and he was very personable and knowledgeable. He recommended a CT scan which showed all the blockages. It was pretty serious. Per his recommendation I had the balloon sinuplasty which is less invasive in order to open the sinuses. The procedure was as good as any procedure can be. I was sedated so I don’t remember much. Recovery was not bad and I can tell a week later it is going to be a success. Dr. Calendar is wonderful and really helped me.

I had a very frustrating experience at ENT Associates of East Texas. We arrived and waited in the waiting room for more than half and hour past the scheduled appointment time. When they did bring us into a room, we waited again for an excessive amount of time. A technician came and took my son back to have his hearing tested. They were gone for 15 minutes max. While testing him the tech advised my wife there was a delay in his response time on one ear. They send him back to the room and we wait some more. When the doctor comes in he advises us that Elijah is fine and nothing is wrong with him. Unfortunately this conflicts with the two tests he had at his school and the information provided by the tech. When we went to check out I explained we have a large deductible and we would be responsible for the entire bill. I was a little shocked that the cost was nearly $ 300 but paid it and moved on. We’re now receiving an additional bill for another $ 100 and the explanation I received is that the office administrator just failed to bill us for a portion of the treatment. The staff was friendly, but our overall experience with this facility will prevent me from using them again in the future. We left $ 400 poorer with a poor understanding of exactly what, if any issues exist.
