I was just escorted out of this store by the police… REALLY? The first week of April 2012, the groom and his 8 guys were measured for suits they were going to purchase for the October 6, 2012 wedding. The suits were not ordered in a timely manor and arrived 2 weeks before the wedding. Being a slim fit suit they did not fit most of the groomsmen. No problem, we would reorder in larger sizes. Monday before the wedding the new order came in with only 3 suits fitting properly. Soooo, we decided to rent tuxes instead! I went to pick up my sons tux(brother of the bride) and his tux order had been canceled… again, REALLY? With that we were told they would overnight my sons tux along with a different jacket for the groom because his didn’t fit either. At this point, I(mother of the bride) did tell Shawn(Manager), «I am done and need some compensation for your mistakes». He said he would pick the tux and grooms jacket up from Fed Ex the morning of the wedding and deliver it to the church. NOPE, at 12:30 my son was picking up his tux at The Tux Shop for the 4:00 wedding. Shewwww… Thankfully it fit! I thank them for that. Back to the police story: After multiple phone calls and several NON-RETURNED phone calls, I went to The Tux Shop for a refund. I explained(AGAIN) my disappointment in their professionalism, courtesy, or ownership of mistakes they made. Then Shawn tried bargaining with a lesser refund amount and I refused. He asked(yelled) for me to get out of his shop. I refused to leave without a fair refund amount and I just sat down. So, he called the police! Hmmm… where did this go wrong? I will not apologize for standing my ground and expecting professional and courteous service(that had been paid for). I will however apologize to the officers for wasting their time. Not once in any of this LONG ordeal of ‘mistakes’ did I ever get an apology from Shawn or The Tux Shop owner. It was always someone else’s fault. As a business manager myself with employees as well as clients. I hope I am never accused of being disrespectful to anyone who enters my door. I have never used The Tux Shop on Old Bullard Road, Tyler, Texas and will NEVER enter their doors again.

I was in a wedding for my brother this weekend. Just some of the details they messed up: me and my two brothers both bought tuxes for this and future weddings and all three of us had buttons pop off(mine happened when getting the ring out at the ceremony). All 8 groomsmen ordered the same tux and he said it would all be $ 125 or lower but charged them all different prices ranging from $ 140 to $ 175. One pair of suspenders were children’s and couldn’t be used, one pair of pants was messed up, two of the shirts were too short. They had cancelled one order without us knowing, they had put one of our orders on another wedding party. They didn’t hem the bride’s father’s jacket sleeves and we had to use tape. Even when the bride went to go check on things multiple times there were other people in the shop absolutely irate with the owner for messing things up so it wasn’t just our party. The tux shop is unfortunately connected with Harley’s suit shop. I say unfortunately because I give Harley’s 5 stars and our family has known and used them for years. That’s why we used the tux shop. But they are in no way affiliated with the Tux Shop. Harley’s is great but we were very unhappy with the service we received from The Tux Shop.

What can i say about this place! The owner is a lifesaver! The other tux place in Tyler after getting the business of our entire wedding party, could not figure out the grooms tuxedo! Mainly me! I walked into the tux shop and was shown what a true professional is like! I was fitted, altered and made to look great in 1 day! I so appreciate how you made my Bride Happy!

Definitely the best place in Tyler to shop for high end and up to date men’s wear. We can always find a great gift for dad here. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it.
