Mr Volberding did NONE of the talking and None of the negotiating. He was terribly passive and seemed to want to drag the whole thing out to get as many hours and appearances as possible. We have retained dozens of lawyers for lots of other circumstances, as we are business owners ourselves. This was to be the easiest open and shut negotiation for the least experienced of attorneys. A simple presentation of facts between attorneys and a quick resolution. His«experience» prompted him to drag it out passively to get as deep into our pockets as possible. At the one short meeting we had with the opposing attorney, Volberding did not say 10 words and presented absolutely nothing. I did every bit of the talking and presented all of the pictures and everything they needed to see to dispute their claim. After that, I had to call and email him repeatedly to ever even make an offer, because he insisted that we go to a mediation without even offering. Once I INSISTED he call immediately and offer $ 2500 to be done with it, they responded within 20 minutes taking the very first offer we made. After it was all over I ended up paying over $ 11,000 on a dispute that originally started over $ 10,000, but was settled for $ 2500. Volberding got the rest with the only court appearance he had to make was HIM Suing ME for services he did not do. No mediation, no preparations for court and only three short office visits . My own attorney became a bigger problem than the original dispute itself. He made a mountain out of a mole hill. Worst attorney ever!
