Super cool shop for any type of soda. Lots of candies and goodies from the past and future. There is something for everybody. Worth a visit if you are in Tyler!

Fun place to go visit and reminisce if nothing else! Had no idea there was such a variety of soda selections! Loved a key lime I found! Real treat to get a bit of this and that and the grandsons of course so loved it and had so much fun looking for what to spend their $ 3 on! Helped there seemed like dozens of taffy choices! So many cute contraptions that sure amused them as well! I bought and hid a few things for myself for when they go home too! :-) Plenty of unique things for gifts too!

Fun candy store with huge selection of odd and amazing bottled sodas at $ 1.99 a pop,(see what I did there?), such as bacon soda and Alien Poop, to just name two of the many flavors. Some retro candies you can’t find at mainstream candy counters, and many interesting tins on all the walls which are for sale. Most depict super heroes or comic book covers. Something for everyone.

I love this little shop soooo much! I literally spent ALL of my birthday money in this one place. They have an amazing variety of sodas that are hard to find anywhere else, a bunch of imported candy and chocolate from other parts of the world, and a lot of interesting little gag gifts, signs, and cardboard cutouts. The only complaint I have, is that they don’t have jafa cakes!(Little chocolate and orange jelly cakes from England) but jafa cakes are hard to find almost anywhere in east Texas, and Rocket Fizz still carries my favorite Bueno bars.(Kind of like kit-Kat meets white chocolate and nutella!!!). After all of the times I’ve been to this little shop, I STILL haven’t tried all the amazing sodas and candies they have. All of the rootbeers I’ve tried have been amazing, but beware of some of the ginger beers and ginger ales if ginger is not your thing! Some of them can really pack a punch! My boyfriend especially loves a grape soda they have called«grape ape.» And I have to admit, for a grape soda, it is very good.

Several years ago a colleague of mine showed me a video on You Tube for Galco’s Soda Pop Stop in Eagle Rock, CA. It was run by a man who loved his patrons and loved his business. It was a one man one location small business. I’ve gone back there when in my home town of Los Angeles over and over again. Yesterday I stepped into Rocket Fizz for the first time. While it is a chain… With multiple locations all over the country… I was immediately immersed in fun, amazement over the 100’s of kinds of soda(Sweet Corn, Key Lime Pie, Buffalo Wing, a gazillion brands of Root Beer, Ginger Beer, Cola [nearly all of them Cane Sugar sweetened instead of corn syrup], and the tons of candy new and old available. Go with a few bucks, there will be many things you want to try.(If you take kids take more than a few bucks) Rocket Fizz is fun from the moment you walk in. Great atmosphere & design and fascinating sodas & candies. The only thing that it’s missing is the small businessman pioneering a unique place going it alone. But since, I don’t live in L.A. anymore Rocket Fizz is pretty sweet to have right in my own backyard. Go!
