I used to be a huge fan of Sam’s Club, nationwide. In fact, I used to prefer them over Costco. Unfortunately, I believe that their CEO, Rosalind Brewer is a racist, and doesn’t like white people– especially white males. Here’s a quote from Ms. Brewer, in which she, in my opinion, spews a discriminatory hiring practice towards whites: ****“My executive team is very diverse, and I make that a priority,” she told Harlow. «I demand it of my team and within the structure. And then, every now and then, you have to nudge your partners, and you have to speak up and speak out. And I try to use my platform for that. … I try to set an example. I try to mentor many women inside my company and outside the company because I think it’s important. «And I talk to my suppliers about it. Just today we met with a supplier, and the entire other side of the table was all Caucasian males. That was interesting. I decided not to talk about it directly with [the supplier’s] folks in the room because there were actually no females, like, levels down. So I’m going to place a call to him.”**** As far as the Tyler Sam’s Club, aside from their racist CEO, Ms. Brewer, this store has to be the most disgustingly filthy location in the country. The employees are lazy, rude, and a Manager once even threatened physical violence towards me. Yeah, Paul, a Manager threatened me once. He said it was a good thing he was on shift, otherwise he’d kick my ass. I laughed at him, and the store Manager took me into his office to «ease» the situation, while he offered freebies to me. He also practically begged me not to call corporate, as he knew his buddy Paul, would most likely be a goner. I’ll boycott Sam’s because of Ms. Brewer, and especially this location, due to the thuggish mentality that Management seems to condone. COSTCO= better products, better prices, better return policy, and they pay their employees better.

I have been a sam’s club member for many years and I just keep going back. The sam’s in Tyler has wonderful employees. They are friendly, helpful and will go out of their way to make you happy. I have even bought a mattress, box spring and bed frame at this location. The guys loaded it onto my husband’s SUV and secured it so I wouldn’t have to pay the $ 100 delivery fee. Every employee at this store has been great with any encounter thus far. I highly recommend. The pizza is great too. Not expensive and it’s ready to take home quick. I have no complaints, only the highest praise for these people here. They have a great selection of beer and wine so I’m not sure why other reviews said they did not. I also have used my MasterCard here and had no problem and usually use the self check out lane. Love it!

Sams now has wifi so that’s a plus. Good deals on televisions. Good deals also on books and household items, as well as food, but not everything is cheaper in bulk so you have to be smart about what you purchase. Video games are not always inexpensive compared to online. Prescription program is good. Vitamin deals are good, and holiday items too. Members mark beats namebrand normally but not usually store generics. Members mark toilet paper and paper towels are a good deal. Store is clean, parking lot large. Would recommend.

I just got a membership yesterday. My family has been going to Sam’s in Dallas for over 20 years. It is still too early for me to give a full review of the Sam’s in Tyler, but I do want to respond to what Joe N. said about them ONLY accepting Discover card. I was there yesterday and they took my Visa with no problem. I can’t imagine them not taking the major credit cards. It would appear that they changed that policy if in fact it ever existed. They do have a Sam’s Discover card and it may have been part of a promotion or something and that may have been what Joe N. was referring to. I was not there, so I can only speculate.

Nice to have a Sam’s Club on south side of Tyler. Large and clean, they have big variety’ & Takes Wal-Mart gift cards. Especially love the book collections and the DVD isle. They are friendly, & pharmacy with many $ 4 prescriptions but limited hours, different from stores. Can be overcrowded. I do not feel they regulate their registers/clerks well to keep up with the crowds. You often wait in line forever for your turn. You can sometimes find help on the floor. Family«pigs» eating entire meals from the food sample carts block the aisles, especially Saturdays & Sundays. Nice food stand for pizza, hot dogs, shakes(but boy, are they slow!) Parking lot is a pain, often difficult to get close. I have had to go BACK to the parking lot to get a cart to shop. Gas prices are SOMETIMES the best around but usually can be found cheaper. Have great deals for the discriminating shopper. $ 40/annual pass. Management needs to improve their inventory on the frozen food’s, same old for last year. But over all it’s good to go their get what you need and get out an home! Oh yeah 1 more hit, they only Accepts discover Credit cards, no visa, master card… BOOO
