Wonderful food and wonderful people! We were all pleased with everything we got. chicken fried steak omelette, brisket omelette, stuffed French toast, wow! worth the short wait time on a Sunday morning!

Their omelets are consistently good and service has always been good. The burgers and sandwiches I got were good, but standard fare. I’ll give it a few more years when their grill is well seasoned from hundreds of burgers. Having said that, any cook that knows how to cook eggs properly, without putting any brown lace on them is tops in my opinion! Hence the four stars: eggs and service!

Great service from our waitress and good food(especially the buttermilk pancakes). We went on a Sunday morning and had to wait for a table for two, plus the kitchen was slow to bring out a simple order consisting of a few plates of eggs and pancakes, otherwise I’d go 5 stars. Menu says they offer gluten free items but it doesn’t clearly say what they substitute for the gluten items. For example, one menu item states the eggs, potatoes, and bread(might be the #2) is gluten free but it doesn’t tell you they substitute veggies and fruit for the potatoes and bread. We assumed wrong thinking it was GF potatoes and GF bread. Last but not least, great oldies music to go along with the restaurant’s theme.

The food is great and the service is good however, there have been multiple times I have come in and noticed flies, roaches, and even a mouse! The place seemed cleaned so I continued stopping in from time to time… Today however, a flew into the middle of my hot pancakes pool of butter and died. I am so extremely grossed out I doubt I will ever return. I gagged profusely and almost vomit from this experience.

Good place to go. Have never been disappointed. Wish the hours were longer. Love their skillet meals! Seems a bit on the high side, but is ok on occasion. Large portions, but small in hash browns.

Ok this is officially my go to for breakfast. I always just drove by here and never really paid much attention to The Diner but one morning last week we decided to give it a go. They have a variety of omelettes including Colorado and meat lovers as well as an egg white with spinach. They usually come with a side of hash-browns and toast which are deliciously toasted and buttered. You can also substitute these for their home style French toast which my wife and I split. The waiters seem to always have a smile on their face and are pretty fast at checking in on you for refills or if you need some salsa for your eggs. They seem to have a lot of other items for your sweet tooth when it comes to breakfast style items and is Vet owned. The only drawback is they close at 2 so i haven’t had a chance to try their lunch menu out yet. If you need a good breakfast I can’t recommend this place enough!

I live in Austin and visit Tyler frequently to visit friends and I’ve actually only picked up «The Diner» food to go… And every time the food has been amazing. I know getting food to go can sometimes be tricky bc sometimes it isn’t as good as eating it in the restaurant, however the food has always been great here. The staff always has the food ready to go and are super friendly. I definitely recommend the food here and will definitely be back.

Place was crowded on arrival had a 15 minute wait, not so bad our waitress Alyssa was friendly and attentive I ordered the crab cake Benedict with hashbrowns and my husband had the Denver omelette with bacon and we shared the cinnamon roll pancakes. I didn’t care for my Benedict but my husband loved it(it was new for me) but I loved those pancakes! Would definitely come again for those pancakes.

After reading numerous reviews I finally decided to give it a shot. Ordered the Louisiana skillet and i was overly impressed. I was expecting 2 – 3 small shrimp, instead i think i got about 6 – 7 pretty nice shrimp. The tilapia was«meh», but overall i was pleased and will definitely go back.

Very good breakfast. Service was great. Sausage patties are Jimmy Dean! Hash browns were great but serving size a little smaller than most places. Only one piece of toast so I ordered another one. Wheatberry bread was good. Coffee was great also. If I lived in Tyler, this would be my fav, place. Enjoyed looking at the b&w pics places in business in Tyler in the early 1900s.

Great food and service. Decent prices and wonderful flavor. I had the brisket omelette and the boyfriend had the one with all the meat. Both were delicious. Will be back on our next visit to Tyler!

Really good lunch spot. My husband and I ate here after worship on our way back home out of town. I got the chipotle chicken sandwich and oh my goodness it was so good. I can see myself craving that thing. I believe it was the jalapeño bun that sold me, it had a nice buttery taste and it was soft! Thank goodness we are moving to Tyler in the future, I would definitely get that again. My husband got the lunch special; blackened chicken with a side of red beans and rice and vegetables. They brought it out without any rice, but they corrected it. He didn’t like it, said it was bland. I told him I would never get that any where other then a Cajun restaurant lol. The service was decent, nothing spectacular. I look forward to trying the breakfast there.

My family and I have eaten here several times and it is consistently great! Service and food is excellent. We have tried the multigrain pancakes, Texas waffle, southwest chicken salad, patty melt burger, eggs, sausage. Everything we have eaten here was phenomenal! This place is great for breakfast, lunch, families, couples. Just love it! No complaints.

Get the Chicken Fried Steak omelet. They dice up a great tasting fried steak then put it in their omelets. There still are those signature cruchy pieces of a fried steak combined with a very well seasoned batter! Get it with a side of gravy and reality as you know it has completely changed… js

This place is great. Had the cinnamon roll pancakes. Freaking awesome! Coffee isn’t all that good though.

Awesome place for breakfast. Lots of choices make it really hard to decide. French toast is excellent — has a bit of cinnamon in the batter. Large variety of gluten free and paleo options.

I love the food. although i haven’t made it past Eggs Benedict though… And the batter fried bacon is really something you at least have to try once! Breakfast is crowded on weekends… and the wait is long so be prepared… and make sure they write your name down. because sometimes if you don’t… you won’t get called and be sitting for a long time. I once had to go back up and ask if we were on the list. i was assured we were 30 min. later i went back up and asked again they said yes. when i asked to see where we were… we were not even on the list… now that was a very bad start to the morning… but yes i am still a fan! Well worth one blunder… Wish your hours were longer!
