Ahhh the Disney Store – one of my happy places:-) Four stars for excellent selection, great merchandising, the friendliest employees on the planet(even surpassing Chik fil-a), and efficient counter service even when the lines are long. I never walk inside the Disney Store without smiling. Something cute, cuddly, or «awwww”-inspiring always catches my attention and draws me in. Oh and who can resist reading the Disney character names on the employees name tags. Mine would be Elsa, of course(It’s already my Starbucks name anyway). Making eye contact with an employee guarantees your being wished«a magical day» even if you don’t buy anything! Where else in the mall does that happen? If Disney World is the happiest place on earth, the Disney Store must be the happiest place in Tyson’s I!

My experience was disappointing and unacceptable in this store today. Our Elf on the Shelf brings my kids an ornament each year on the day they arrive(after our tree goes up) which is tomorrow. My son recently started talking about how the Elf would bring him a Stitch ornament after falling in love with Stitch on a recent trip to Disney. Since my son also has a Santa list that basically consists of expensive electronics(which he won’t get) I figured I would try to make this wish come true since he is getting to the age where he may start to question if good old Saint Nick is indeed real. I called at 10:08AM to see if they had a Stitch ornament in stock. The cast member who answered the phone told me they had plenty of them and took my name and would put one aside for me. So I drive out a couple of hours later to find out that they did not have any Stitch ornaments and they had not had any in a few days. First the manager tried to blame it on me asking if ‘i was sure I called the right number. I pulled up my call history and recited the number I called which she confirmed was her store. So then the manager in the store explained that I had called during«opening ceremony» and that the employee I spoke to probably did not actually check if my item was in stock as they were probably too busy with opening the store. So thanks Disney I made an unnecessary trip to the mall, paid tolls, gas and wasted my time. Had the employee taken the time the time to look or ask me to call back when she had more time to look I would not have made an unnecessary trip where I paid tolls, gas, and wasted my time(two hours) on a super busy week already. Disney I do suggest you make sure your employees don’t assume an item is in stock and promise to reserve one for a customer if they haven’t indeed checked to see if it is actually instock.

This is about a return. I purchased a Princess costume set from . I contacted about placing the return that was shortly after the 30 days. It was a gift that turned out to be too small. The customer representative told me no problem I’ll get it to the Disney store or mail it in within a week and a half. I could take it into the Disney store even though I live about an hour away then trying to mail back in awkwardly sized and shaped item. I got to the Disney store and the manager on duty. said nobody called her this so she could not return it. However the dress comes in a garment bag and on hangers. The cashier kept checking the item over and over again. The dresses falling were out one was on the floor. The cashier kept checking it as if everything wasn’t there. The dresses were pushed back in instead of properly put away when it was being returned to me because they could not do the return. When I questioned her more she just said I had to mail it back. I asked the sales associate that was doing my actual return an other item for the phone number to customer service and the name of the Store manager. I stood around 15 minutes waiting for Disney to open. I called Disney store customer service. The customer representative asked for a new credit card to refund the money. She asked to talk to the store manager who would not to take my iPhone from me and talk to representative. The manager and called Disney. I don’t know the extent of the conversation. What I overheard was«and then the customer said something and something and gales of laughter». The manager hung up the phone and looked at me and told me customer service said she could not do the return despite the fact that customer service ask for another credit card to do the return to. When I went to pack up to leave in disbelief of the experience. I dropped the receipt and the manager just looked at me and said don’t forget your receipt. Once again I am standing there for 45 minutes with a cane and leg brace it is not easy for me to just bend over and pick up the receipt. Because of my leg brace on my right leg. When I got home three hours later I called customer service. They had no problem issuing me a return and picked it up from my home for free. They so that there was replacement credit card on file leading me to believe that the manager was just controlling the situation because she could. This Disney store manager humiliated me over a $ 80 return.

We have always had friendly and courteous employees help us and greet us at The Disney Store. For merchandise that is not everywhere, particular characters or sets, the selection is difficult to beat, and if they don’t have an item in stock, the employees have been very helpful in suggesting alternatives, or ordering the item from the website. For the children, it’s a nice respite from the usual chaos of shopping at Tyson’s. I find the prices to be reasonable for official Disney merchandise, and when there’s a sale, the prices are extremely good for the quality of merchandise offered. Definitely worth a trip, since even when busy, the staff does their best to help everyone and provide for an efficient experience.

I have loved bring my kids here previously until last weekend, one of the sales people turned out to be an «evil witch» inappropriately reprimanding my 7yo daughter for simply picking up and looking at some merchandise(pair of shoes), removing the item from her hand, frightening her. Come on, you’re Disney, please make sure you hire people who are not going to traumatize my child.

Good selection from a variety of movies. The staff is very friendly and there’s a spot at the back where they have clips from movies playing. Get there before it opens at 11 am and you can help«open» the store by looking for Tinkerbell and using the castle key to open the ropes.(I couldn’t believe the staff does that every morning but it is SO cute!)

I was expecting the store to be pretty hectic the week before Christmas, but it was surprisingly calm in there. The staff seems only somewhat friendly, but who knows how crazy the store might have been earlier in the day. I went in to get a princess night gown for my 5 year old cousin. They had a really good selection and it was only $ 12. This is my first time purchasing clothes for a child, so I’m not sure if that’s actually a good deal or not, but I sure thought it was at the time! And she’ll love it regardless, which is the only thing that really matters. The aisles are a little small and passing people is a bit difficult, but overall a nice store and location.

Okay, so I may or may not have told my three year old that this was Disney World. The truth depends on what kind of human being you are. The real Disney World costs one human sacrifice to enter. Would you deny a small child the pride that comes from THINKING you went to Disney World? So anyway… This place actually isn’t that bad. I’m the type to walk around a store scanning barcodes on my Amazon App to check online prices. Everything that I scanned was priced about the same, which was really surprising. All of their stuff is grouped by movie/show, which may appear to be a logical grouping strategy. In reality, it’s just a ploy to get more money. «Oooh, Nemo!!!»(You can get a Nemo toy, sweetie.) «Oooh Toy Story!»(Okay, well do you want Nemo or Toy Story? Fine. Get both). «Ooh Cars!»(Okay, we’re leaving.) I actually found myself wanting to get her stuff based solely on the depressing reality that watching Disney movies and shows has become my life now. I’m not ashamed to admit that I actually started singing the theme song to Little Einsteins when I couldn’t find any of their toys and one of the employees said she didn’t know what it was. Okay I’m starting to lose respect for myself. [end review]

It’s sad that they renovated a few years ago and became a little smaller. Surprisingly, you can find some pretty nice deals here, especially at the end of a movie run in theaters. They have a surprisingly nice clearance selection where you can find some nice deals.

This is a decent-sized store with all the most popular items. They’re right by Macy’s and Starbucks, so it’s a pretty high-traffic area. Try out their new lotions! Fun and glittery, which brings me back to my childhood.
