Prior to this restaurant being called Dora’s it was North State Café, and overall it was much better. The new owner is nice, but with a couple of exceptions the food is not quite as good.

Great salads, soups — especially the squash soup! This is a wonderful little lunch spot and is fast becoming a treat for me every month when I travel way up north for work. The staff is courteous, though not overly warm– maybe because it’s a small town and they know I’m «not from around here, are ya?» — nope– just kidding– think it’s more that they are always packed at lunchtime. It’s a small place and I am looking forward to it getting warmer so I can enjoy the outdoor seating. They have some games and books I think for patrons to enjoy — I usually have my head buried in that soup.
