While a little dreary this place is pretty great. They are active space giving a place for both adult gamers and kids to come and play a wide variety of games. Their selection is solid and encapsulates everything from RPGs to contemporary board games to card games and some comics. A friend and I went in to find some games for her daughter and both the guy working the counter and a couple of the customers were interested, enthusiastic and super helpful. It makes me happy to that there is a place like this in Ukiah.

This is a great store with a surprisingly large variety of merchandise for its size. They carry comics, posters, board games, card games, miniatures, and much more. They also have a variety of open board games that you can play in the store and an in store gaming console set up.

The Sword and Board is a solid space for comics and gamers in Ukiah and one of my favorite stops. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable and more than happy to help you find what you need. I hope Ukiah can keep him around for a long time! :)

The local comic book shop here in Ukiah is awesome. The owner is incredibly approachable and does not project the «elite gamer» mentality that I have seen at other game stores. The shop in Santa Rosa is like like that. The staff is friendly, and there is a nice collection of comics and other assorted games, figurines and collectibles. I know that people drive from Lake and Sonoma counties to participate in events here.
The best part about Sword and Board is the actual space to meet other people and play games. There are weekly Friday Night Magic tournaments, drafts and an Edh league. Saturdays there is a big warhammer scene, complete with tables and terrain. Tuesdays are board game night, and the shop has a great collection of games for the board game crowd. I often see new and exciting games being played. A great place to find something to do in Ukiah, and it is located downtown by eateries and the Brewery.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet!
This is easily one of the finest establishments in Ukiah. The hobbys which this business promotes are extremely healthy for our community. The owner is fantastic with his product knowledge and the pricing is reasonable. The staff will actually break off from their duties at this store and assist with deckbuilding or game playing. It is really nice to see this kind of service pop up in a place like Ukiah.

This store is cool. I went there to sell some Manga comics and the owner was really nice, he gave me a good deal on my comics. I don’t really know much about selling comics but he gave me the option of store credit or cash for my comics. There was no Manga in this store for me to trade, or I might have done that. I ended up taking the cash. If you like American comics then this is the store for you. They have a large selection of comics like Batman, Superman, and good other comics.

If you’re a comic book nerd like me this place is awesome. Take note that I only get to go here when I visit too. I like to buy up all the comics I can because they keep the face value for several weeks. It’s wonderful! The guy who owns the place is a class act and makes sure that he helps you with whatever it is you need. He’s very knowledgeable on his products. Which helps when you’re looking at new games or comics you haven’t read yet. I’ll be going here as often as I can, I might actually have to take day trips when certain releases come out. Kudos guys!

I am not a gamer and don’t understand this whole magic thing, but my son loves it! He goes to sword & board regularly. They provide a great place for kids to hang out and play their games. I was just there today to buy some magic Christmas gifts for my son. The clerk was fantastic and helped me choose some things I think my boy will love, if not he can exchange them. Highly recomend this establishment!

An awesome comic book, board game, trade paperback, and gaming store. Something you wouldn’t expect to find in a town/​city like Ukiah. I went in there to check it out and came out of there with a ton of expansions for some semi-​obscure board and card games, stuff I do not even find in Sacramento! I would highly recommend!

I’ve seen the Comic & Game store pass from owner to owner since I was 10 years old. Honestly there have only been a few that have ever really brought out the potential of the shop.
The owner of Sword & Board has done an incredible job catering to the needs of all the clientel. Whether you are Magic, Warhammer, DnD, 40k, or Board Gamer player you will find everything you need here.
The comic book selection is great and the owner has no problem ordering any books that aren’t on the shelves. I’m very happy to have a place like this in Nor Cal! :)
