So refreshing to find a restaurant that isn’t afraid to use spices! This place holds so much healthy flavor in its food they earn the name tastebuds! Had the raw nachos, the walnut crumble and chips were heavily seasoned with cumin and chili giving the flavor for the whole salad and the use of cashew cream paired with avocado was so delectable! Also ordered a veggie burger was the perfect size and they have vegan cheese! Both were devoured! Can’t wait to go back and try some new dishes and some sweet treats. Wish they were open on weekends!

5 stars for location, atmosphere, customer service, pricing, and superb plant based cuisine! Delicious food for vegans, vegetarians, gluten-free, and meat lovers(there are no meat based dishes) ! This place is called tastebuds because your tastebuds will sing and beg you to go back for more! I brought my dad here and at first he wanted to go somewhere else to pick up a meat based dish. However, after I convinced him to try my sweet and sour chick’n(imitation) and pumpkin curry rice he was so blown away by the beautiful combination of favors dancing on his tastebuds that he bought some for himself. The iced Mint cucumber drink is divine, rejuvenating, and refreshing! Be careful with the desert. It’s decadent, mouthwatering, and will cause you to lose sleep over wanting more. I personally love the goji berry brownie.(Vegan and gluten free deliciousness). Please open another location in Sonoma County so I can eat there often!

Food was delicious, fresh, and affordable! I ordered the Veggie Burger(w/Cheese) with Sweet Potato fries and the Sorrell drink(very refreshing). Soooooo good, it was flavorful and the cheese and sauces set the burger off. My fiancé ordered the Raw Vegan Portobello Mushroom, which was also very flavorful and filling. The burger was so good, we ended up ordering a second one. We also ordered the Strawberry Cream Cream Pie– the pie was great, the filling was delicious, Im not too crazy about coconut(the crust) but it was still a great combination. I love this place, its not just for vegans ANYONE would enjoy the food, environment, and staff. Definitely a MUSTTRY if in Ukiah.

Love this spot! Tasty vegetarian food that leaves your belly feeling good. Rich in veggies, light on oil and salt. They also make really tasty drinks including a yummy herbal drink similar to Mexican Jamaica, can’t think of the name right now. They have nice desserts too! I always stop here anytime I’m passing by Ukiah on the 101 I like it so much.

I could freaking eat at Tastebuds every day and I am not vegan, or even vegetarian for that matter. This is my favorite Ukiah restaurant by far. I love getting to mix and match foods. The rainbow bowl is delish! Even my meat-loving husband loves Tastebuds. It is a little bit pricey, but this is slow food and it is legit. No GMOs and you feel amazing after you eat here. Spice is nice!

Organic vegan awesomeness. Super friendly staff. Food was delicate to the palette but totally satiating and substantial. Some vegan food feels like you are eating bird seed. Although the menu has a fair share of seeds and nuts this is a place to take a meat eater and watch them drool over the vegan delights. Recommend the tempeh rueben, raw kale salad and the curried potatoes. Honestly though you can’t go wrong. This place has reggae vibes and flushes with locals. As I was totally welcomed by visitors. I’ll make a point to stop back.

Driving down State St in Ukiah saw the bright colors and a sign that said Organic so I had to double back. I’m glad I did as the food was fantastic. Had the barbecue Tofu and Bean Curry with Alkaline water. Very hip clean atmosphere and totally laid back. Emily the manager was very kind and caring. When I get back to Ukiah I will for sure eat here again.

My second time going to tastebuds. I got a veggie burger with fries to go. I love the food and hospitality. The combo plates are well worth it. They fill you up.

I was in Ukiah overnight for business and wanted a quick, healthy dinner that was relatively inexpensive and found Tastebuds to be all three. Thanks Unilocal! I arrived around 8pm after a long drive and was pleasantly surprised at their happy hour — half off prices! Most reviewers have already commented on the menu(or you can look it up yourself) but I opted for 5 choices plate for variety and topped it off with a lovely sorrel drink. Cheerful staff and a fun place to see the locals come in for some grub with reggae on in the background.

It’s like this every night at Tastebuds. As you make your way towards the door, sometimes catching eye contact with the 8 o’clock warriors lining up in their cars at approx 7:45, is part of the deal. They smirk and you feel all weird. You know, like you’re picking up drugs on a corner, and they know exactly what’s going down. Except worse, it’s those sweet and sour mock chicken. But of course, you’re in there looking at the menu and there’s no Sweet and sour chicken. You end up leaving with whatever’s there like. Every. Night. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. Sweet and sour mock chicken should be served err’day though. This place is really good.

This is a must-stop on my 101 migrations. I was excited to see that they have expanded and now have indoor seating, which is wonderful in the Ukiah heat! This is a vegan-friendly, casual restaurant with a cafeteria-style vibe. You can see all the options in front of you and chose what you like to fill a plate. They also have a menu on the chalkboard for to-order items and a refrigerator filled with various house-made drinks and desserts. I’ve been here two or three times and I always leave with leftovers, stuffed and satisfied. I also love that it’s food I rarely see elsewhere. Absolutely recommend!

Ordered the 3 item combo: pumpkin rice, cabbage salad, and I think it was sweet and sour or orange«chicken.» Everything was amazing and flavorful! The pumpkin rice was soooo delicious, I couldn’t get enough. The combo included 2 scoops of the pumpkin rice, which was perfect for left overs. The«chicken» was really good as well and included potatoes. The cabbage salad was very refreshing and spicy. There was so much food on my plate I was able to save some to have later on in the day. When I opened up my leftovers I swear they tasted even better than they had at Tastebuds. The food is amazing and not to mention healthy. I will be back for more and more!

I really enjoyed my meal at Tastebuds. I had the 3-item combo with forbidden rice, zucchini, and a half-half serving of jerk tofu and the faux-fish. I wasn’t crazy about the forbidden rice(I’ve never had black rice before) but overall the combination plate was delicious. Next time I would get the rice and beans or quinoa as my grain. The faux-fish was a favorite. I also had the ginger cucumber drink. Spicy and refreshing but rather sweet. Great service, comfortable space, reasonable prices. I would definitely return.

Holy crud, this place is great! You don’t have to be vegan to love this… it’s simply great tasting fresh food. That it’s vegan is a major bonus, sure, but it’s delicious no matter what. This makes me want to move to Ukiah. Wow. Great service, too.
