Absolutely love this restaurant! It is a bit pricey and a bit of a wait to recieve food(but SO worth it) so my family, friends and I only go there a couple times a year. The saffron rice, mixed with chicken marsala with garlic Naan is a must! Also, the family that owns this establishment are very friendly and attentive!

Never left here I satisfied or unhappy! Every plate I have gotten has been excellent. The service is quick and friendly. A very home-like and comfortable environment. Amazing naan bread and mango lassi!

This is one of my top 5 Indian restaurants I’ve been to. The only tiny thing that was a bummer is that service was verrrrrry slow, but it was one sweet woman running the entire front of the house, so I couldn’t fault her for that. And what they lack in speed of service, they definitely make up for in quality!!! There was a miscommunication in what I ordered, and they were very quick to make me the dish I had my heart set on. It’s always very difficult for me to complain, so I really appreciated this tremendously! My chicken tikka was amazing, and I have been thinking about it and their pickle dish ever since our visit(2+ months ago). I can’t wait to be back in the area so we can go again! GETTHEPICKLES.

The food has great flavor but the 3 stars is because the prices are ridiculous for what it is. About $ 14-$ 20 for an entrée but NOTHING is included. Raita, dal, rice and bread were all extra charges. If you go with a group you can share those sides because they’re generous but dinner for two put us at $ 50 without appetizer or drinks.

Wouldn’t know about the food. Pulled into the dead restaurant and we were the ONLY people there. The host/owner(?) sat us down and then got on the phone for about 10 minutes. Never checked on us, didn’t even acknowledge us. Folded my menu, sat it to the side of the table, waited patiently… more phone convo. Not even a glance in our direction to signify she would be there shortly. Could have used a sip of water to tide us over, at least. Ugh. We got up and left. No wonder they never have any business. Very disappointing because we were hunting for a local vegetarian option. Boo.

Had a good food experience. Only four stars because they are pricey. $ 13 – 16 for one dish.

I only wish we had Indian-ish food this good in Orange County. I read the reviews before coming and it seemed like a toss up… some really great reviews and some terrible. Since I’m a big fan of Indian food and there are limited choices in Ukiah, I tried. The chicken tikka masala and onion kulcha were outstanding. Yes, it is a little pricey BUT I guarantee you that it’s worth it. The chicken was all white meat(most places use dark), the cream was rich and the onions in the naan were super flavorful. The lady that greeted me was very sweet and even made small talk(not usually a fan but it was nice this time because the place was not busy). If I’m in Ukiah, I’ll make a point to stop here again.

The Himalayan Café is one of the best places to eat in Ukiah. The food is expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The staff is warm and friendly– attentive but not overbearing. My favorite dishes are the lamb vindaloo and the vegetable korma. Of course every meal needs garlic naan, pickle, and a mango lassi. Bön appetite!

Ordered tandoori chef special– too dry and small serving. Shrimp biryani and chicken tikka masala was a disappointment

Waited for more than one hour to get the food. Portion of the food is good. Quality of the food is not good at all. Order Chicken Tikka but really difficult to say it was Chicken meat or something else Also price is in higher range At least I did not like the food

Great food, good portions, lots of flavor. Very nice service. I had the Chicken Tikka which is served on a sizzling hot metal plate. Really tasty spices and good caramelized onions.

We went to Mendocino for a 2 day trip, we all were delighted to find Himalayan/Indian restaurant with good reviews in this town where we were staying. The food is super expensive and tasted very bad. One dish costs 13 – 15 $ average and the quantity is also less. Try some different restaurant and please do not waste your money at this place.

I give this restaurant a 1 star because of service. We ordered dinner for 4(2 adults and 2 toddlers) and it cost us $ 90, a price I’d be willing to pay if the food was good enough, it wasn’t great and the portions were tiny. The only dish I’d go back for seconds on would be the rice. They messed up one of our dishes and shorted us one dish, when we called about the error they said no, we got everything. The order we were missing was one of their breads, we’d obviously know if we had bread or not. Salmon is also NOT the same as chicken. If they had corrected the mistake we would try the restaurant again, since they essentially called us liars we will not return.

Awesome food and service. We aren’t much into spice and curry, but this place was great. A good variety of options and food. Everything was prepared well and we would definitely return.

On a Saturday, my boyfriend and I walked in to get an early dinner before a movie. Their sign on the door said their hours were 1:30−9pm and a sign out front saying OPEN. There was also a couple on the patio eating a meal. We walked in and immediately told«we’re closed». No explanation, nothing. We thought maybe we misread a sign or something. Nope. Hours on the door say 1:30−9pm and a huge sign out front saying Himalayan Café OPEN. The couple out front were being waited on. I called back later and was told they weren’t open until 5. Strange, seeing that everything else pointed to the restaurant being open. We decided to go back later after they were open. Nice atmosphere inside. The service was quick and the staff were very nice. Food was decent as well. I would recommend this place, but be sure to double check hours.

Not bad but overpriced. I had the Himalayan combo and it was good. The purred eggplant(chefs special) was mediocre. 15 and up per entire is pricey for what amounts to Indian food.
