The worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. Seriously. Took them 1.5 hours to serve our group of 6 and it wasn’t busy. We were the only ones there! The food was horrible and was way over priced for what it was. And the wait staff was totally rude and incompetent. Everyone they’re acted like they had paired to hard lady night and we’re grumpy and hung over. Avoid this place. I honestly don’t know how this place got any good reviews.

This place was perfect for our needs: a group of hungry college athletes, bus driver and two coaches on a long road trip. No one looked irritated or impatient with us, indecisive about«to go» or eat in, moving tables — staff fed the driver first(order in/first out) so he could take a stroll. The rest of us enjoyed big portions, tasty foods with dozens of options and a good time. Great spot! Had character and friendly locals.

Great value. I shared a patty melt and side salad with my wife. Salad was huge and fresh. Son had a steak sandwich and it was surprisingly tender. Definitely recommend. Very friendly staff too.

Of all the truck stops, convenient stores and backroad general stores on my one-thousand mile trip, Crossroads was the best. The portions in rhe restaurant were great! The food was fresh, the service was fantastic and it felt like home. Anyone coming through Umatilla, if you’re hungry and have a craving for a small-town diner, check out crossroads. I paid $ 10 even for some strips, fries, cole slaw and a drink. The Hamilton I spent might seem a bit much, but trust me. For the same price at say, Burgerville(which I love) wouldn’t get you this much. In fact, about half of what Crossroads generously provided. I didn’t catch the waitresses name, but she was very pleasant and remembered all her regulars, so kudos to her!

Road Trip 2014 and we’re in Umatilla, Oregon on the way to Portland. Where to eat, where to eat? There aren’t a ton of choices in Umatilla so we looked at Unilocal, flipped a coin and ended up at Crossroads Truck Stop. They have a Mini-Mart, Lounge and Diner. It was a tad confusing when we entered the restaurant. We saw the counter seating and some folks sitting in booths. We looked at them and they looked at us, but no employees to be seen. We walked in a bit deeper and saw a cook sitting at a table, probably on his break and two servers, one at the register, counting money. We asked if we should just seat ourselves and we were told to do so. We waited a couple of minutes before one of the servers said that she’d be right with us. It became apparent to us that we had walked in during shift change. Once things got rolling, we were pleasantly surprised. Service was friendly and adequate for a diner environment. A little polish would definitely make our server an all-star. The food was surprisingly excellent! I had a dinner portion of Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes, Corn and the optional Sausage Gravy. The steak nearly covered the plate, it was so large. Perfectly breaded and covered with a peppery sausage gravy. The corn and accompanying garlic bread were merely bystanders in a sea of goodness. She had the Fried Chicken with French Fries and Corn. There were also four half-slices of white toast that didn’t really seem to belong since there was no butter or sauce. Regardless, the Fried Chicken was terrific. Even the Breast piece was moist. The crust was crunchy and well seasoned. The French Fries were right out of the fryer and hot and crispy. Oh yes. Each meal was served with your choice of Soup or Salad. I took the Chicken Noodle Soup and she got a Mixed Green Salad. Neither was particularly special but both were good. In spite of our usually large appetites, we both ended up with leftovers.

Hot diggity! I found me sum fried buh-ree-tohs. They come in all flavors like BBQ, bean and cheese, beef and cheese, chicken and cheese, and my favorite: beef and bean. For $ 1.69 you can get your hands on a mean bean burrito. Doesn’t get any better than that! Heck, they even got a bar called The Ugly Dog Lounge. They weren’t open when I went so Imma have to dock them a star.

Typical old school truck stop. Lunch special — hot turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes and corn. Nothing wrong with this one. Brisket sandwich, baked beans, fries, wedge pickles, good bbq sauce. Made to get your hands sticky. Attentive waitress. Good find!

Guy Feiri would probably like this place. Not sure it would make it on his show, but for someone who loves hole in the wall places this could be his first sinkhole by the side of the road. The food is not going to knock any ones socks off. Just being honest here, it’s a friggin truck stop out in the wasteland… I mean country. Crossroads main customer base is… SURPRISE truckers. And farmers, weary travelers, escaped cons from down the road, prison guards, and any one not included in the above. We’ve stopped here twice so far and have been pleased both times. Mashed potatoes, gravy, fried chicken all done from scratch. Portions are large so if you’re driving only eat half and skip the carbs we don’t want you to become a statistic! As we were leaving I noticed a donut twist the size of a small child with jam or other such fruit filling in each of the 3 twisted pockets. Fortunately i already had my fill of sugar and carbs and I was driving so I avoided the temptation. There is a lot they offer here so if you go away hungry or unhappy, it will be your own fault.

Try the brisket! Beans are home made some of the best I’ve had. The diner is pretty plain. Service was attentive.
