Ok so they had my favorite dish of all time: carne guisada, and boy was I not disappointed! Rice was on point, fresh, not oily, almost like my mom’s white rice :) and let’s talk about the carne guisada(beef stew) it had the right amount of salt and favors, again not oily, lots of carrots and potatoes and the meat was super tender! Not to forget about the beans, what can I say that they were on point. The best part of it is that their lunch special is only $ 6! That food will last me a week! Such a large portion! I’m happy I ventured inside this neighborhood joint! They do deliver and take credit cards(they use Square!)

100% Best Dominican food hands down. I inhaled my food in seconds. The seasoning is perfect. The price is decent. Not many good Dominican restaurants in NJ. I’m glad I found this one. Good place to try out… you won’t be disappointed.

Very delicious & authentic Dominican Food. I was reccomended here by the local post office worker. She told me that the price was right and the food was on point. I was craving Mangu(smashed plantains) and I misshed the cut off time which was after 11am. I instead went for the lunch special which was $ 6 and included a generous amount of rice

The service is nice/ok, but ssssssslllllloooowwwww. Do NOT come to this place starving! The churrasco… Bad cut! Mostly chewy and gummy. MAYBE I’ll go back to try the basics(rice, beans and chicken). Definitely disappointed.

I got the Churrasco Mofongo and my mom had the chicken mofongo … The monfongos were great, just the Churrasco didn’t taste like anything. Next time i’ll order the chicken one. My mom loved hers!

My friend recommend Casita Criolla Restaurant, and it is very good. When I went to the restaurant my first impression was terrific because I felt in my native country. The food was really good. I ordered fish fillet stuffed with shrimp and my friend ordered churrasco with fried plantain. We drank natural orange juice and passion fruit juice, and for the desert we ordered chocolate mousse and guava tres leche. The waitress was very friendly and fast. I like that restaurant a lot and now is my favorite restaurant

I’ve been wanting to try this relatively new restaurant as its in my neighborhood. We went for dinner… when we walked in, there were several folks sitting about but not eating… it was a tad awkward but once the waitress saw we wanted to eat in, she quickly accommodated us at the bar. It was rather warm in the restaurant but a large fan helped to keep the air moving. We started with beef empanadas which were really good. We ordered the Churrasco steak with tostones(fried green plantains) and Pollo ala plancha(they have a longer name for this) with french fries. We finished it off with dessert which included Tres Leches(my all-time fave) and flan with pineapple. The Churrasco steak was good… but the chicken was better and I’ll definitely order this instead next time. The tostones were well cooked and tasty. The desserts weren’t impressive and will be skipped on future visits. Apparently they are not made in-house and come from New York. I found the prices to be well, pricey. My Churrasco steak was $ 18. A dinner for two, granted 2 appetizers(empanadas), 2 dinners and 2 desserts for $ 40 isn’t a bad deal but I’ve experienced better value in other Latin American restaurants. Service could have and should have been better. Three times we had to ask for a water refill and a check took quite awhile to produce.
