My son enjoyed this park because it is right inbetween the bart and train tracks so he was able to see both pass by as he played. The playground was once nice but now the litter and swarming bees make this park have less appeal. Good area of benches and tables to sit and have a picnic. Easy to park right near.

After reading the other reviews, I was curious and not sure what to expect. After visiting the park, I think some of the reviews are for Garin Regional Park and not this park though. This park is a play ground for kids with two large play structures– one for 5 – 12 year olds and one for 2 – 5 year olds, two climbing walls, picnic tables, bbq pits, a covered area with picnic tables, a small walking trail, and lots of grass. I love how the park has a nautical theme throughout. The play structures look like two ships and have holes to peek your head out of, steering wheels, look outs, slides, etc. My son loved running around there and checking everything out. The padded AstroTurf ground is designed to look like water. They have sea horses for the little ones to ride(see picture). The bike rack looks like waves. The only down side to the place is the AstroTurf is torn up in a few spots, the garbage cans are only by the picnic tables and there is a little trash by the play structure. Maybe if they trash cans were closer, people would be less likely to leave their trash there? I picked up some trash since my son kept picking things up, trying to play with them and found the garbage cans too far away for me to just throw them away while he played. My son is only one years old. There are no bathrooms there so don’t plan on staying for a really long period of time.

To clarify, my earlier post was about the ranch and gardens which are open Thurs-Sat. You can also park in this lot at the end of May Road and access the South end of some Garin park trails(for free). It is a woodsy start to the hike, and if you bear North-East, the trial is relatively shady, and because it’s wide and made of dust, relatively stroller friendly. In the spring and early summer the creek that runs through is a fun place to stop and play with small children.

A great place to take an afternoon walk, soak in some sun along the trails and burn some calories.

I can’t decide who is hotter in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom. Do you ever think about the same thing? The best place to sit and ponder this question is at the Dry Creek Park(not to be mistaken with the nearby Dry Creek Regional Park). Affectionally known as «Pirate Cove» by locals, this park is outfitted with two large play structures shaped like ships that makes for great POTC scene re-enactment. While your kid runs around rotating the many, many steering wheels, shifting the gears, poking her head out of the portholes throughout both structures, you too can pretend you are there with Orlando. After you’ve slid down all the slides, scampered across the bows of both ships, looked through the periscopes, and shouted«hello!» for the umpteenth time through the«intercom» with your toddler, you can teach him to stand at the helm of one of the«ships» and say«I’m the king of the world!»(oops different movie). When you’re done fantasizing, er– I mean playing, you can enjoy a nice break at the shaded picnic tables or unfold a picnic blanket on the grass and enjoy some lunch. Don’t have too many refreshments though because you’ll quickly snap back to reality when you realize there are NOBATHROOMS here. Go on, indulge yourself and your kid. Dream about how hot Johnny and Orlando are while your kid gets to run across the cushy astroturf yelling«ahoy matey!» to her heart’s content. Fun for your kid — yes but not creepy. Obsessive thoughts about Johnny and Orlando at a park — only kinda creepy.
