I have been here many times with no complaints of the food. The last time I went here to eat, my tab was 18.70 — I split the tab with the friend. Service that night was particularly crappy, even though the restaurant was empty and we ordered a lot of food. They never came to check on us, never refilled drinks, never asked if we need boxes, didn’t say anything when the check was given even after we had to ask for it. Therefore, no tip. Although you might think I deserve this for not tipping, but when I checked my bank statement a couple days later, they charged me 22.70. They added a 4 dollar tip. As well to my friend’s card. That’s pretty sneaky and low.

was there for dinner tonight with a party of 10, 7 adults and 3 small children. not only is this restaurant very pricey, but one dish, which we ordered for the small children was terrible. fish filet with greens. this fish was tough, one child spit it out, it was so bad. you would expect fish filet to be edible by children. i tried one piece myself and to be honest, i couldn’t tell you what kind of fish they use, certainly wasn’t cod. additionally, a tip was automatically added to the bill, which i believe is now illegal in california. there are too many other good restaurants in the area to even consider this one. go someplace else.

If I can I will give them no star. Warning please check ur stuff before leave otherwise if u leave anything by mistake they will never return it back. I left my iPhone 6 plus by mistake. After 10 min I came back and told them that I left my by the table and they said they never found any phone. I told them to check ur security camera they said it’s down and not working.

Proud to say it’s one of the best Chinese restaurants in town. They have a really strong crew in the kitchen. The food always fast, tasty, and the bill is always reasonable! 5 out of 5

Me & my family have been coming here for about 3 years now, religiously, they know all of us haha. If I’m craving Chinese this is where we come, they have AMAZING lunch specials and the flavors are delicious, we’ve had a lot of different plates here and they all seem to taste great! If you’re craving Chinese & find yourself near this place, don’t pass it up!

Take out or dine in, this is my go to Chinese. The shrimp fried rice and honey walnut shrimp is to die for! I always order those two at least. Dine in, server are nice and courteous. The price is about right and food are made quickly. Thinking about it makes me want to order =)!

Having just moved to the neighborhood, I found this place through Unilocal and this place is great. While waiting for my «take out» I’ll have a drink at the bar and watch families come to have dinner who are regulars. The are people constantly coming in to pick up their orders. I love their Hot and Sour soup. Service is great also.

My family and I so love this place. We’ve been coming here for years! And through those times I really feel like this is our extended kitchen. They treat us like family. Nothing beats that! Food always taste great. Food portions are always more than other popular Chinese food place.(Or maybe they just like us) If you don’t come here you’re wasting your time and money somewhere else.

Hong Kong Restaurant is just your average Chinese take out when you’re too lazy to cook. My boyfriend’s mom orders food from here all the time. It’s not anything extraordinary but it doesn’t suck either. It’s decent for the price and great for family meals. My boyfriend’s family dines here for birthdays since it’s cheap to feed over 10 people for decent food. Crab ragoons, mushu pork, house special friend rice, crispy noodle, fried flounder, salt and pepper fish, salt and pepper shrimp, and mongolian beef are a few things we normally get.

Friend and I stumbled upon HK Restaurant for lunch last week. Being unfamiliar with the area and not being able to drive to Fremont for some real Chinese food, we settled on HKR after looking up places on Unilocal.Friend was a little under the weather and was craving wonton soup. We arrived during the lunch hour where a few tables were occupied. The interior is your average Chinese eatery. We seated ourselves and the waiter came by to take our order. He was a nice guy and seemed to be the only person scrambling around the front of the house. Friend and I both ended up ordering the seafood wonton soup($ 6.75), except I got rice noodles and she got egg noodles. Our orders came out really fast. Surprisingly in less than 10 minutes. The portions were huge and everything looked delicious. The bowl consisted of squid, shrimp, scallops, wontons and bok choy. I wasn’t a big fan of the pork wontons. I know I’ve made better wontons at home on my own. The worst was the scallops — the tasted incredibly fishy. Friend and I suspected they were rotten. The shrimp were tolerable but it was evident that they were soaked in too much baking soda. The rice noodles weren’t silky or fresh, but tasted like the kind you buy prepackaged at the Asian grocery store. A huge disappointing lunch. Overall, the chef left very little to be desired. Waiter was nice but can’t justify returning for the food.

First impression wasn’t great. No warm and happy welcome, just have a seat here. Picked out the usual favorites from Chinese restaurants of a total of 5 dishes. Dishes: House Wonton Soup(M) –Chicken broth with wontons and assorted vegetables in it –Good sized portion for the whole family of 5 –Server helped pour it out for each of us Honey Walnut Shrimp –Small portion –Little amounts of walnuts –Shrinp glaze was a bit crunchy House Special Fried Rice –Pretty good –Fair sized portion –Not too oily Mongolian Beef –Lots of onions –Very very oily –More peppers and onions than meat –Would not get again or recommend Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce –Mainly gave the stems of the broccoli not the leafs –Small amount of sauce on top Total: $ 65 Overall, this experience was not the best. Would not come back here. Prices are too high for the portions received. Would rather go to Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant off Fremont Blvd.

Whenever I am in the area I make sure to get take out from here. This trip we did it twice. The food is always consistently good and the service is quick. Last night it was orange chicken, crab Rangoon, house fried rice and fried prawns… there was more batter than prawn on the fried prawns but the crab Rangoon were perfect. A few days ago we had sweet and sour chicken, Snow White chicken, house friend rice, egg rolls, Szechwan beef(which was sliced too thin and a bit dry) and pot stickers. The pot stickers were the star of that meal. The inside of the restaurant is in need of a deep cleaning and remodel but I prefer to get it to go.

Came here for lunch and was immediately seated. I ordered a combination place. Broccoli Beef that came with soup of the day(hot and sour or chicken and corn) I chose the hot and sour which came out immediately after ordering. It tasted fine. Nothing great. When my plate came shortly after that the food was steaming hot however i couldnt help but feel like it was just warmed up and not really made by order. I also ordered hong kong style noodles which as always came out to perfection. Other than that everything else was okay. The server was great he was very accommodating however the woman that was working at the same time was rude and watched me eat the WHOLE time it was awkward which is why i have no pictures to share. The prices are fair and you get big portions however if you get food here i recommend to do take out.

Likes this Restaurant, it may look that much but it offers varities of tasty food @ a great price. Try their West Lake beef soup, and sweet & sour pork, its to die for. Lol. Anyways our tummy keeps this Restaurant happy. Only 3 – 4 wait staff, wait time for orders are not bad.

This place is legit! I always come here for the same dishes. Hot & sour soup, Peking spare ribs, honey walnut prawns and house special chow mein. I come here so frequently the lady recognizes me and knows exactly what I’m going to order. The food is amazing and it’s down the street from me.

Recently this has become my family’s go to restaurant for Chinese food; either dine in or take out. Prices are good and portions are reasonable. Service is also friendly, accommodating, and prompt.

Been going here for years and the quality and service are awesome. The wor won ton soup is our«cure all» for our sicknesses including hangovers. Walnut prawns, Peking duck with the«duck bread» and clay pot items are normally ordered at every visit. Haven’t really had a bad dish here ever. If you’re in town and can’t decide where to go, go to Hong Kong Restaurant in UC! You will not be disappointed!

I’ve never had a problem with them until now. I called to make an order and the woman on the phone had the WORST attitude. «What kind of chow mein do you want?» And I asked what kind, she raises her voice in frustration«What kind of chow mein?! CHICKENPORKBEEF?!» So I just hung up. You don’t ever talk to customers like that who ask simple questions especially when there are numerous Chinese restaurants around. Your attitude probably reflects the 3.5 Star rating your restaurant has. Don’t take it out on me because that’s not my problem.

Just moved out here and I needed a wonton noodle fix and this place did the job! Service was on point and food came out fast. I had the House Special Wonton noodle soup which was very flavorful compared to what I’m use to in Chinatown. Gave it 5 stars because I felt they satisfied all the needs I could ask for.
