IHOP

This 5 star is solely because of the service I received. The food is like every other ihop but the service I got tonight was unlike any I’ve ever got before. I believe his name was Jamaica, and just man. Not only was he the friendliest guy I’ve probably ever met, it’s as if he was reading our minds. Like I would literally think of something and he’d either ask if I wanted it or would just bring it seconds after I would think it. Like not even 10 seconds would pass of my thought, and it was like BAM, here you go. He interacted with us the perfect amount, just enough to make sure we were fine but not too much to interrupt the meal. I really wish ever server was like him, he was solid. Like really, he deserves a promotion and a raise with his positive attitude and work ethic. Usually I only tip servers like I tipped him if they’re a woman with some Double D’s or a rear end like J-​Lo. But his service was was really A1. He even put the right amount of ice in my drink. 5 outta 5 stars, plus some. Seriously.

Went here after the movies and got seated right away. Our server was really nice and patient bc I was being indecisive about what I wanted to get. Food was okay. Didn’t finish my pancakes though bc it tasted too soft/​soggy

Me and some friends came to eat here at 12:30am and customer service was horrible this guy named Carlos was rushing us when we were looking at the menu and we got the unlimited pancakes but he said we couldn’t share. Don’t come here save your money and go somewhere else

Food is terrible. Hashbrowns too salty and tough, eggs are cold, crepes are tough to eat and you barely get any sauce to go with them. Too much cheese on the omelettes, always have to scrape it off. Toast always burnt, and everything in the menu is really dry. You will need to drink a few cups of water to even eat anything. The only reason this ihop even has any stars is because the service is good. Nothing wrong with the service, JUST the food.

i love this ihop location coz its near my house and its 24hrs. the crew are nice and friendly and fast service. because we always go like 3am so not that much craziness. its clean place and good place to get whenever u feel like eating bfast all day…

The food is good. But over the course of the last 3 – 4 visits the service has gone down hill. This opinion was echoed by another regular customer this morning. Not sure if it’s because the service staff is understaffed or a sign of something bigger. Have been visiting this location for close to three years and the change is only in the last 4 – 6 months.

Why is it when i personally make a phone call and ask what the soup of the day was they respond with loaded potatoe (which is my favorite) and ministrone. So i asked will the loaded potatoe be served all day they said yes. so i live in oakland and i drive to the union city location because of course they said that they would have loaded potatoe. I get there and guy sat us down gave us our drinks and i ask 1 more time what is the soup of the day he said the 2 soups they mentioned when i called so i ask may i have the loaded potatoe he said he couldnt serve me that to wait for our waitress, so by the time she finally comes i tell her i want the soup and she tells me she only had ministrone. WTF! IM HUNGREY JUST GET ME SOMETHING ELSE… i specifically drove up there only for the stupid soup… i would make my own uf it didnt serve so many people.

Although this wouldn’t be my go to place for breakfast, because we were visiting my parentals, hence we ate at IHOP for breakfast.
On Sunday’s, it’s best to come in and have breakfast BEFORE 10am, anytime after that you’re absolutely screwed and will have to wait a long time, plus it gets crowded and I don’t know ’bout you but I don’t do crowds.
Anywho, we were seated within minutes and the busses was quick to take our drink orders. Maria, our server was on it, within minutes of being seated she was ready to take our orders. I think she was already in the «crowded-​gotta-​be-​quick» mindset, even though the crowd hadn’t even showed up yet, all good. After placing our order, the food arrived within 15 minutes, quick.
A lot of traditional dishes were on the table, good eggs, sausage and bacon… all good breakfasty stuff.
My hubs and I changed out our toast for the Swedish pancakes. Best decision we’ve ever made. The Swedish pancakes come with a strawberry like butter which is the perfect combo with a freshly made crêpe, Delish! My T-​bone steak N eggs was bomb! My steak was cooked perfectly and my over– hard egg was perfectly cooked, usually some places don’t know how to cook over-​hard eggs but IHOP knows what’s up.
For a quick place for traditional breakfast, stop on in… I hear they are open either really late or ²⁴⁄₇!

Nicole is awesome, SHE NEEDS A RAISE, as we walked into IHOP her smiling face was the one to help us out ! Friendly and warm .
Every time we come here she’s always smiling not like some of the other waitresses!
Now time for some Banana Foster Brioche French Toast, yup breakfast for lunch

On a Friday morning at 10:45 a.m. I had to wait about 20 mintutes for a table for 1. I waited an additional 10 mins before Pilar asked me for my drink and food order. She was polite but inattentive. The food arrived hot and as I ordered except for the side of ranch I asked for when I placed my order. After eating I sat around for about 20 mins waiting on a to-​go box and my check. The only reason why I got it was because another server named Leah saw I was waiting… and waiting. …and waiting! Service could be a lot better as far as attention goes but each person I encountered was very polite and friendly. Also, the cooks working today brought their A game!

My first Unilocal review and I’m usually not inclined to complain unless it’s beyond ridiculous.
Simple lesson for this IHOP and other restaurants to understand: DON’T SEAT PEOPLE IF YOU AREN’T READY TO SERVE THEM!!!
Halloween night 2015 at 2 AM, my group of 3 walks into the lobby and are given an estimated wait of 30 minutes. That’s fine, it’s late at night and you’re inundated with customers so I understand the long wait. However, we get called in after only 15 minutes of waiting. Hooray, so we get seated, get our menus, and we wait for the server (who also doubled as the greeter) to come back to take our order.
As he continues to call people into their seats, he tells us he’ll come back for us. After 20 minutes of waiting, he says, «No one came to your table? Lemme call someone for you. «And at the 40 minute mark, what made us get up and leave was that a table that was seated after us had already gotten their drinks and food!!! And we were just there with our menus, no water, and no acknowledgement from any staff members. Right as we were leaving, the greeter finally came to check up on us, but it was too late. Sorry Union City IHOP, you’re now on my naughty list.

I will never order IHOP to go ever again!
1^st my wifes over medium eggs were runny and nasty. The egg whites were barely cooked. To make it better the food is very cold. This place is highly disorganized, and took a very long time to get our 2 plate order together.
No fault to the cashier who was doing her best, but management needs to give that poor person more help! 1^st off the food that has been ordered to go should come out of the kitchen, bagged up and ready to go like Dennys does. Instead IHOP likes to have the cashier bring random to go orders and let them sit on the cold counter. Meanwhile having to check people out, bag stuff, bring more random orders out, check out another customer, get back to bagging, then answer the phone, then check another person out, bring more random orders out, mixing everything up, and then repeat. Eventually your to go order will be bagged and very very cold for you to «enjoy».
We always thought IHop was better quality, but guess not. Well just stick with Dennys going forward.

So I ordered the country fried steak dinner with salad late last night. It was a busy night, I understand I had to wait a bit for it. When the staff handed me my order he told me that they were out of salad and if it was okay. I was too tired to do anything I just nodded and walked out.
Come to think of it, I should’ve complained about it. IHOP should’ve asked if I’d like to substitute or something. The service is getting really bad lately, come on guys!

I want to start by complementing there manager Angel. Not only is he always friendly and smiling at the customers. He helped us with our issues with a smile. To be honest I’ve haven’t come by a nice helpful managers in a very very long time. A good Managers are hard to come by, but not Mr. Angel. Thank you again Mr manager your awesome!!! Oh yah food is awesome of course nothing like a good breakfast place like ihop. New York Cheesecake pan cakes are a MUST!

7 years since my last review, time for an update. Went here this morning with wife for early breakfast at 7am. I got the Steak Omelette, it was awesome. The topping of avocado was extra charge, but worth it.

My wife was asking me for IHOP for mothers day earlier today. She was looking forward to this the entire weekend and we thought that it would be better to call in our order, as she is currently pregnant and it’s a bit of a chore for her to go out. So we started calling the restaurant at 7 am. After constantly calling for two hours, I go there in person to put an order in for take out.
Now, I know that it’s Mother’s Day and that they are going to be busy. I am very aware of that… however, as I was waiting for the food, I overheard a few employees joking about leaving the phone off the hook. I looked over the cash register and behold, the phone is off the hook, as it remained for the next 15 minutes as I was waiting for my food.
Now, I understand that they are busy, but leaving your phone off the hook so you don’t have to deal with your customers and having your employees joke about it is just pathetic and insulting. I doubt that I will be going back.

Today was actually pretty crowded because it was Christmas. I ordered the breakfast sampler which comes with eggs, 2 slice of bacon, 2 piece of sausages, 2 piece of ham, hash brown, and pancakes. I’m not a pancake person so I substituted it with French toast. The food was all good, but the hash browns was undercooked. It was kinda hard to eat so I didn’t really touch it. Overall, it was okay.

Always good at IHOP. Been going here for years. I love their different variety of pancakes and even their crepes breakfast are so good! For some reason, theirs pancakes are the best flavored and syrup. My new fave is white chocolate pancake with fruit and whip. They used to have International crepes which had Nutella, strawberries and whip but not anymore. I guess the Nutella was too expensive to serve. I can have breakfast food anytime of the day! =) Their other meals are really good, too.
This IHOP is open late on the weekends but super busy since it’s by many residential and the freeway. I recommend to not go here during the weekends as waiting time can be over an hour and service can be slow. Also, parking is scarce as the movie theater and other restaurants take over. Other times are okay.
I still have to have my pancakes at IHOP especially when I am lazy to cook for the fam bam… ;-}

The food is IHOP style. Taste good, not great, not bad. The servers were pretty nice and on top of all the orders. We came into this IHOP with about 100 people from Logan High School Marching Band and Color Guard. So we kind of took over the whole restaurant, I don’t even think they knew we were coming. The manager looking guy seemed to really stress out over the bombard of people. He was concerned the servers would not perform with maximum capacity, but quite the opposite. He would not fill all the seats at once and left a table of 8, and 2 booths open and made the people wait in the lobby. From my point of view the servers were doing a fabulous job and he was the only one visibly stressing out. He should have filled the tables instead of leaving the people in the Lobby. The food was good and the servers were great!
