They have a lot of useful things to buy here. Almost everything is organized and where it belongs unless it’s the children’s section but that’s understandable. One very unnecessary thing that they did was make an app for the store in order to get points and discounts. Not everyone who goes there is up to date on technology you know. I suggest you go back to using the card, that was simpler. If you do not like to be looked at constantly and be given bad looks I suggest you don’t come here, the employees are rude and stare way too much at the customers. They don’t even help you if you have a question or need to find something.

Gave this place 3 tries and nothing. Never purchased anything after looking and looking. Everything is expensive for a thrift store they think they sell gold -.-. Then what they think is namebrand is exageratedly expensive: A. No gurantee it’s real B. Not always in the best condition.
Would give them a zero if could. It sucks because they are so close by but w. e, I’ll still to actual retail.

If I could rate negative to zero stars I would. I had made a purchase back in June. I had purchased what was portrayed as an authentic Chanel 2.55 handbag. Inside it had included an authenticity card & Chanel pamphlet of purchase. The retail price for this handbag was $ 299. Upon making the purchase I had made a statement to the cashier Marcia of how much in awe and surprise I was that I could score a authentic handbag valued at $ 1,500+ for the price of $ 300; Marcia had responded back «The value of that bag is woth more than $ 500». After her making that exact statement I had then felt confident in making this purchase that to me would be an investment. While ringing up my purchase for the transaction two other cashier’s had joined my cashier and watched as I was being attended to which I felt was unnecessary and made my purchase appear to be somewhat a specticle.
That same evening I had learned that my purchase was ultimately fake. I had learned that the authenticity card was false, the real authenticity card would resemble a credit card in its consistency also including a gold lining along the perimeter. The authenticty card I had was of a perhaps a thick cardboard consistency and had a rainbow lining along the perimeter. The interior was not the same of the authentic one. The Chanel clasp was also very similar but not what a real Chanel 2.55 would entail.
The very next day following my purchase I had went to the store with the handbag and had spoken to the manager Leslie. Initially she had seemed somewhat sympathetic to me being upset that I had purchased what had been advertised and verbally authenticated Chanel item. She had told me that all employee’s are required not to authenticate items however this policy was clearly not practiced in this particular situation. She had then began to tell me that whenever her boss comes (which I find is not an adequate enough answer) he will then get in contact with me in reference to my situation but she was unsure since he comes and goes biweekly. I was not offered a return since they do advertise no refund policy but given to this situation circumstances I felt it was more than appropriate enough considering we are now dealing with a violation of consumer rights and portraying something as authentic.
Several days later David Morely district manager had then contacted me and told me his cashier Marcia had claimed to never make that statement which was dishonest but expected considering the circumstances.
Fast-​forward to now, I am now simoultanesly dealing with a credit card dispute against this merchant, along with several other legal complaints made against this transaction.
Please be aware when purchasing any items advertised as authentic, especially if any verbal statements are made to persuade/​con you into a purchase. You will prevent yourself from stress, and the frustration of dealing with the process that is involved with receiving your money back from con-​artists who deal unfairly with customers that are educated and informed with their consumer rights.

I was a huge fan of this UNIQUE thrift store for about two years until I recently visited the store yesterday and realized all the prices went up. I felt as if I was shopping at Target. I found a simple glass vase for $ 12!!! it was used… i don’t understand why so expensive.

Walked out of here with three brand name, looked like never worn, blazers for work totaling a shocking $ 27! Although I had those amazing fines they don’t have quiet such a big selection as I’d hoped when I saw how big they store was. Most of their clothes is scattered around with mixed sizes and types of shirts, pants etc. It could be a bite more organized for the amount of staff they had working.
Oh and just a warning, even if its the winter come with a light jacket!!! It is extremely warm and gets very hard to breath!!!

i went today, everything is very expensive, one mug for $ 9.99 this is insane, and its all used stuff exactly as in salvation army which is one mile away from them, i believe they buy from salvation army and goodwill and they sell in high prices… one more thing if you don’t speak spanish you are in trouble i asked for the bathroom and the cashier didn’t know what im talking about. i will never go there again!

Decent size smaller than most unique. But poor selection of men’s blazers and ties. It’s on the bottom Floor of the Kennedy center. Didn’t find anything this trip but it was cleaner than most and more organized than most but 0 finds.

Unique is the best! It’s my favorite thrift store (along with its sister store Value Village in Hawthorne) by far due to the vast selection and awesome prices.
They have pretty much everything under the sun. Clothes for men, women and kids. Shoes, bags, jewelery. Towels, bed sheets. Tchotskes. Plates, silverware, cookware etc. Electronics. Lots of books. Small furniture items. Decorations. Toys & games. Other really random stuff that you’d be surprised to see a secondhand store selling. It’s definitely a one stop shop for all your thrifting needs. Despite having such a variety of stock everything is nicely organized.
I’ll tell you why I visit this place so often: the prices are insane! Way better than Goodwill or Salvation Army. PLUS on Mondays and Thursdays everything is 25% off, making it DIRT cheap. Like literally dirt would be more expensive than a shirt at Unique on 25% off day. This is almost a bad thing because it takes a lot of willpower to pull back the reins and not buy more than you need. I’ve walked out with stuff I’d never use or wear just cuz it was like 3 bucks. Keep in mind there’s NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES of any kind so make sure you like what you’re buying.
There’s a couple of downfalls that are keeping me from giving 5 stars. My biggest gripe is you can only take 3 things into the fitting rooms at once, which is kind of annoying considering they only have two stalls. Because of this, the wait to try stuff on could be long depending on how busy it is. Also, their employees are not the friendliest and some are downright rude. Many of them speak zero English. Thankfully I speak a good amount of Spanish for a gringa, but I’ve seen others struggle with language barriers firsthand. Other than less than pleasant employees and long waits at the fitting room, Unique is a great place for all your used goods needs.
If you’re into thrifting, Unique is your place. It’s not the trendiest store and it takes some sifting through to find the good stuff, but it’s worth the time and effort. Go and check it out!

definately love Unique. You have to be prepared to do some hunting but isnt that what thrifting is about? Everything is very clean here. so clean that i have purchased sheets from Unique. I live a little further away so I dont get to go as frequently as I would like to but, i have never had a bad experience!

I have been going here for a long time. And the people that work here are what keep me coming back. Unfortunately over the time I have been going here the prices have tripled compared to any other thrift store. Everything is priced for 50 percent off days. There are people that go in everyday and wait near the back where they do the sorting to take anything they can sell on ebay and management seems to not have one concern about what’s going on. I love this place. But it’s hugely disappointing to see how it’s gone from an awesome thrift shop to a place that all of the deals and fun have been stripped away so the owner and general manager can make another dollar. As far as the store goes it’s very clean and organized usually.

Very expensive. Don’t waste your time going when they have 50% off sale. The place is a zoo. Very organized. Many things should just be thrown away and not sold. They really need to lower the prices on some of the old merchandise.

This place is crazy! Not just the amounts of people who come here but by all the merchandise they sell. I wish it was more organized and not just men’s section here or kids section there. They need to fully organize the each and every clothing item or toys. I know it must be crazy to even work there. I went there on a Saturday (Not even there special discount Sunday or Mondays) and I saw at least 20 employees all in that one section where is employees only and organizing a whole lot of stuff.
I think its a hit or miss when you come here. You can find someone grand for the best price ever you can find a sh*tty thing that’s worth less than what they offer. They sell some random stuff to like VHS tapes and has its own lamp section. There’s old box tv’s that I remember back in my day was the best thing going. They do have a lot of obsolete things but that’s what’s great about this place is that there is a chance you actually get something worthwhile. Vintage is starting to comeback so if you want you can sign up for their Unique card and get on their phone and email listing for when new merchandise arrives.
I got an ugly sweater for $ 5 bucks. I wasn’t even looking for something to buy. I think that’s one of the ways to attack a place like this is to just go with the flow. I saw some playboy 3D books behind the counter which was random also. If you can tired walking around they have chairs they are selling or you can sit on the box tv’s as well.

Wowsa! Yeah wowsa! So I started thrift shopping not too long ago, maybe a few
years back & I always tell my friends about how awesome it is to buy the used goods. My friend & I were trying to kill time & she said «Let’s go to a thrift store.» I’m like umm okay, surprised but excited she was interested. We brought along our guy friend & his daughter too since we were all hangin out. I Unilocaled the nearest thrift store open around 7PM & Unique popped up. We had to call for directions though since the address on the Geepus, (GPS) was leading us to the land of absolutely nowhere lol. Once we got in, through all the mighty stale attic smellin goodness there were thousands of thinfs in this store!
Woooooooow. I had a huge smile in my face. My friend’s little girl found alot of good toys, there were even children’s biles for 10 bucks. Her dad spent 18 bucks on like 10 different toys. I honestly thought I was just gonna buy a small 5 dollar purse, but holy crap I found 4 winter coats that were like 12.99 each but were probably like 80 & above in yesteryears (80s, 90s whatevs) I felt very stylish, & my friend bought a few coats too! I also grabbed a really nice blazer & sweater thingy, & also a snowman bottle xmas decoration. I can’t wait to go back again & go to the other Unique shops. They also have discount days! Alot of stores that are second hand don’t sell as cheap as this spot, so I’m so glad I found it. It’s like thrift heaven in a lil’ ol’ basement of a small plaza in Union City! Check it out but call for directions first! LOL. Happy Thrifting & hope you don’t grab all the stuff I might want! Haha! :)

Hugh space, huge selection and good pricing. Only the place is also like a riot happening at 11am on a Sunday morning and the line up was already circulating half of the store. My boyfriend dragged me out of there immediately.
So know how much time you’ll spend there and leave your men at home (unless he is willing too root with you too!)

This is the best thrift store in New Jersey that I know of. It is clean, big and organized. Everything is nicely priced. They have some of everything in this store. The shoppers are sometime greedy. Most of the workers don’t speak English too well. Learn a few phrases to help you navigate around the store. One of the non-​speaking English workers, I stay away from because she has a bad attitude. The rest of the workers are beautiful, nice, helpful workers. Be prepared to stay a little while to thoroughly go through each isle. Each time I go there, I don’t know what I am going to find. It is so much fun. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. There is a nice craft section for people who are crafty. You almost want to take everything in that section. I personally think that it is the best section of the store. It’s just nice to go there to relax and enjoy yourself. I recently got my VIP discount card. I am a happy camper!

Went there for the first time today and I absolutely love unique thrift. The racks were very organized by size order which was a major plus. I found me a camo jacket for $ 5 bucks and thee cutest brown bag for $ 7. Score! My girlfriend also found a Ralph L. Polo jacket for $ 10 as soon as we walked into the store. I think she fell in love with this store. My new fav thrift store that I will visit often.

Legit, vintage-​styled things.

Wow… Wow…I went there today for the first time and was so impressed. It was huge and well organized and very clean with a nice atmosphere. But even better was the fact that I scored a fuschia Mika raw silk dress for five bucks (I looked it up online when I got home and found one selling on ebay for fifty bucks!!!), a gorgeous red wool coat (never worn), an amazing 1890’s steel coffeepot and a couple of beautiful vintage plates. Will definitely be going back next weekend.

Personally, I expected better. I’ve been to enough thrift stores to know a good selection when i see it. If you are looking for something cute, re-​mixable then pass on this spot. If you just need clothes that aren’t the most stylish, then go ahead and shop away.
I will say their accessories are okay, but compared to the Salvation Army and Goodwill, they are a bit over priced. Unique Thrift is EXTREMELY organized and clean, and they do have a huge selection.
On the way there, I luckily ran into a Salvation army on 10^th st and Kennedy blvd. MUCH better selection and for the same and even cheaper price. Plus they had furniture at the S.A. Won’t be going to Unique Thrift again, anytime soon.

To start out, I am a big Unique Thrift fan. They are big, with lots of selection, and well organized. This one is no different and has great prices, and a good selection of books and clothing. Their board game selection (I am a huge board game nerd, and love thrifting for them) is lacking, but I found my best game thrift EVER here (Starcraft board game, complete, for…4 dollars or something?)
Basically, if you want to thrift, I always recommend the Unique chain. This one is a great, great example. Most thrift places in the JC/​Hoboken/​NYC area are super overpriced, but not here! Take a morning and see what you can find!
