The best thing about this store is the location. Unfortunately, aside from traveling into New York or 20 minutes west, this seems to be the only music store in Hudson county. The gear selection is weak compared to most other music stores. However in a pinch you can pick up just about whatever accessory you might need. Cables, picks, stands, etc… No high end gear sold here. Prices are marked up about 10−20% compared to musicians friend or guitar center. I asked an employee to price match an item for me and said «you will have to speak to the owner, who’s not here today». Good job buddy, tell ‘Jerry’ you will make up the lost $ 220.
Staff lacks decision making skills, or any real useful item knowledge. Store hours could be longer. If they aren’t selling top shelf items, cut the crap and charge accordingly.

Let’s be honest, this place is no Guitar Center. However, they do offer quite a decent selection of instruments, and equipment. And you can expect quite a comedic like atmosphere half an hour before they close.
My biggest gripe with them is that if you don’t specify what you want exactly, they’ll give you the lowest quality item they have availabe. For example, I asked for a digital tuner. Yes it works fine, but the tuner they gave could only tune to standard tuning, and not each individual string. Another good example: I asked for a peg winder, and they gave me this cheap plastic winder that falls apart into pieces after winding down the pegs to restring them.
Lesson learned: ask for the best available item or be specific with them. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
