When you live in a town as small as Union City, your options are limited when it comes to a grocery. It’s a bit of a food desert, if you will. If you’re paying a visit to Save-a-lot, chances are you’re either a.) picking up eggs, bread or milk(necessities) or b.) on a mission to save money. Don’t get me wrong, most everyone wants to save money when purchasing groceries, but if you’re looking for quality produce, I recommend heading to Aldi’s in neighboring Greenville or Winchester. Save-a-lot offers the unhealthy approach to saving money on food. The mentality that you need to live off instant Mac and cheese if your income is on the lower end of the spectrum. I’d love to see them cut back on instant and offer better(still affordable) produce.
