They have stopped serving a natural casing dog and are now serving a skinless, smaller dog that is entirely different in taste and texture. Might be Ball Park, Oscar Mayer or another awful brand. Yuk.
This place used to serve a note-​perfect natural casing grilled hot dog and has gone from first to worst virtually overnight.
What a shame.

Although this is a hot dog place; Franx has excellent salads. All the ingredients are very fresh, and you get a large amount for your money. I believe the salads are $ 3 and I added grill chicken and it was an additional $ 2. The chicken was also super fresh, and well cooked.
On another occasion, I had the Philly dog, and a vanilla milkshake. All pretty good. The bonus was the free order of fries when you check in on Unilocal.The ladies who prepare the food, are very nice, and display great customer service. I definitely will come back if in the area.

Came in with a group of 6. There isn’t a lot of room, so not a great place to eat in. They have a counter against the window and we took up the row.
They were a bit frazzled I think, but handled the rush well. There were more people behind us. A few items were missing here and there, but the staff was quick to fix it — and very friendly! Everyone in our group got different items… Hot dogs with odd toppings, grilled cheese, cheeseburger, chicken salad, sweet potato bites, various fries, onion rings, shakes — everyone liked what they got. The combos and offers make this place worth it for sure.
We would probably go more if there was better seating.

awesome! i had a hot dog with grilled onions and one with the creamy coleslaw. both good! then had some onion rings and sweet potato tots. also good. my folks loved everything as well. def. would be my go to hot dog place!

I placed an order for pickup. I arrived around 12:20 and the place was empty which really surprised me. I had a classic dog with sauerkraut, mustard, and bacon and a side of baked beans. Everything was really good!!! I will definitely be back and was satisfied with everything.

Decided to give this hot dog place a try. Was pleasantly surprised. The food was great. There is something for everyone here. They have hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, wraps, fries, home made sides. They have your just every day hot dog, or you can try one of their special ones, or customized your own. They have daily specials, and the waffle fries were to die for. The place is spotless clean. You get a lot for your money. Give it a try.

Great selection of hot dog choices!!! Had the Thai This, BPT, and Nikko’s Soulfire… All the toppings are made fresh, and you can taste the difference! I’d recommend this place to any hot dog lover!!!

The best thing here is the cheese waffle fries. Omg! They were mouth watering! The hot dogs are pretty good. They have snap, crackle, and pop. Everything you need. The dogs do not have any special flavor but they are still good. The place does have a ton of specials each day of the week. That’s definitely a plus. Specials and discounts are always good. Not to mention that the sprint store is next door. Bonus for sprint users. They do close early but I will be returning for the cheese fries and fountain drinks.

The frank had to be on the grill for at least 45 minutes. Hard and crunchy all the way thru. Not enjoyable. The lady behind the counter was pleasant which was a bright spot.

I can’t say enough positive things about this place. I love small, independently owned establishments. The food is awesome (esp. the crisp waffle fries and homemade toppings) and the staff is super friendly. Try the creamy slaw, it’s amazing. I love that they use potato buns too. One of my favorite lunch spots.

This is a nice little place that is hidden, sadly, behind a cigar shop and sprint. The hot dogs are cooked just right. But the best part is the waffle fries! Those are out of this world. Defiantly check it out.

The Union-​Springfield stretch of Rt. 22 has a ridiculous number of food options, but Jack’s Franks is one of my favorites and a change of pace from all the chains. I try to hit it up every time I’m back in Jersey. The franks are delicious and they have about 10 or so recommendations of unique dogs (eg Thai Dog) which have all been quite tasty. Fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, and soup are all delicious too. Never had the chili.
Aside from the food, this place has personality. There’s always giveaways and contests and though I’m never there for the action, they apparently have karaōke. They also have a soda machine with RC Cola, Bosco Chocolate Soda, and Birch Beer! So it’s fun to experience those options. Before Jack’s, the last time I had a RC Cola must have been the early 90s, but it’s good stuff! The staff is really friendly and personable too. Other pluses: Place is very clean, they have a cool iPad point of sale system, and usually they’re bumpin’ some good music. They also accept LevelUp which is convenient. I think the prices are very reasonable.
Downsides: Easy to miss the turn off since it’s tucked away in a small strip. Also, don’t go here for healthy options, they ain’t about that.

Good snap to the dogs AND they have a choice of 34 toppings, some free, some .25 and some .50. The possibilities are endless, with all toppings free on Wednesdays. (Try a dog with spicy/​sweet sambal paste, sour cream and fritos!)
Other daily specials include Chili Dogs 2 for 1 on Mondays, Buy 2 items, get a third for free on Tuesdays and so on. They also have chicken fingers, fish fillets, soup, grilled cheese, etc. — for those odd people who don’t like hot dogs. But I saved the best for last — Sweet Potato Tots with Jack’s garlic mayo or chipotle mayo — it doesn’t get any better than that !
The people behind Jack’s are lovely and the place is small but spotless. Hard to find (it’s in a small strip mall behind a Sprint Store) but definitely worth the effort!
