Junie Moon Market Cafe

This restaurant is definitely worth getting off Interstate 44 for. The food was very good, the service fast and the waitress pleasant and attentive. Most deserts are homemade and we enjoyed every bite. They offer half portions of salads leaving room for peach cobbler.

I decided to try this place out with a group of friends. Molly, our waitress, needs to smile more! She looked miserable and was not personable in the least. The atmosphere was depressing. No one seemed happy to be working there. I asked for the new Philly burger, medium well. It was pink in the middle and tasted like the oil it was cooked in wasn’t hot enough! (Greasy!) Steak fries had a sweet flavor and were ask too crazy. Didn’t finish my meal and walked out without leaving a tip.

Great service! The menu had so many enticing selections. My boyfriend’s mom insisted that we try the roast beef sandwich and man I am glad that I did. I have left there stating that this was the best roast beef sandwich I have ever had. The bread was delicious but it was the beef, it was so tender, not a bit of fat or stringiness at all. It was like they made the sandwich with a thinly sliced roast. The homemade chips were good, not great. I can’t wait to go back.

I was in the Union area for an auction and after a few hours of listing to auctioneers, bidders, and hoarders fight over a mix of antiques and crap… I was hungry!!!
My boyfriend’s family and I found Junie Moon’s and were rewarded with some good grub.
I had a bowl of their peppery chicken soup… which was hearty & delicious. The soup had a creamy broth and two oversized dumplings with a nice, peppery kick. It was served with a generous portion of white baguette bread, which was great to dip into the soup.
Prices here are very reasonable and the portion sizes are just right.
If you are in the Union area with a hankering for some good, honest comfort food… Junie Moon’s is your destination!

Normally we love it, must be an off-​day. Service was okay, tomatoes were old, french onion soup had very little liquid in it — it was like onion bread pudding. Chicken is always good. Try again next time.
