The Tan Loft

Most peaceful Brazilian I have ever had! Marasol is such a sweet woman, and she completed my service very quickly. I also love that they use numbing spray here.
The only con is that the outside of the building does not say «The Tan Loft» so it was a little hard to find. However, when I called Marasol she came right out to greet me.
I will definitely be returning!

Excellent place for waxing, reasonable prices. I had Marysol (I believe she does all waxing). Quick and as painless as waxing could be ! I like that she mainly does appointments, no craziness of walk ins. She also has many other services as well. Overall not a fancy spa setting but clean and efficient!

I’ve been going to Marysol for over 5 years from Jersey City and would never go anywhere else to get a Brazilian. I’ve tried a lot of places before and when I found Marysol totally by accident I never went anywhere else. Trust me when I tell you there’s a lot of bad places that do Brazilians.
I also make it a point to go every 2 weeks to get a mani and pedi from Cisne. I never have to worry because it will always be done right.
The salon is always clean and very accommodating when you have to schedule an appointment.

Since this salon was within walking distance from home and had good reviews, I decided to give it try for a Brazilian wax. I was greeted warmly upon arrival by the owner and shortly escorted to a waxing room. The room was clean but definitely in need of a fresh coat of paint. If you’re looking for a posh spa atmosphere and experience, this is not it. However, Marysol was knowledgeable, personable, and professional. Let’s be honest, getting a Brazilian requires some awkward and embarrassing positions… Marysol talked me through everything and was as quick and efficient as can be. I am typically very sensitive to wax, but she did a superb job handling the wax to ensure my skin was not burned. The quality of her service is top notch, and the price… a steal! I will definitely be back next month!

It was my first time to come here today and so happy I went! I called to see if there were any available appointments today (which I know I was last minute to call the day of) for a Brazilian Wax and surprisingly they took me in right away! My experience with Marysol was wonderful. This is my second time ever getting a Brazilian Wax: affordable ($ 40), painless, and she was so on point with everything! Very clean waxing experience, friendly staff and cozy environment! You won’t regret it at all. Marysol is so lovely! Looking forward to checking out other services this place offers :)

Marysol is simply the best! I come here bi weekly for manicure, pedicures, facials and of course Brazilian waxes. The spa is clean and you cannot go wrong with any of the services they offer. I’ve been getting Brazilians for about six years and who knew that the best place to get them would be in my hometown? Marysol is so friendly and she has found a lifelong client in me. Go! You won’t be disappointed!

Got my chest and back waxed for my vacation. Marisol was great! Took her time and got me thru the pain. Ouch. This is a great place!

An amazing waxer! Just got a Brazilian and she made me feel very comfortable. It was nearly painless because of the products and wax she used. I will definitely recommend her to all my friends and return whenever I am in town!

A hole in a wall… small, unkept and outdated place. Went for a eyebrow wax, the lady that did it was the owner. She did a rushed and horrible job. But even worse she uses the same wax stick on every person, — I asked — but unfortunately I asked too late because I blinked and my brows were «done». She doesn’t take her time to do brows properly. She smacks hot wax on your skin and sends you off on your merry way. No sculpting, eyebrow trimming, not even a little aloe vera for my red burning skin afterwards. By the time I got home I had awful bumps that lasted for days

I have been getting a Brazilian wax for about 7 years now, but when my budget changed after moving to a town home… I had to cut back. I finally got back on my beauty grind and went to the European Wax Center. What a disappointment! The girl left patches all over my cookie but I’m just not the type of person to complain. Instead I took to Unilocal!And found this place! Who would have thought the owner Marysol has been my parents’ next door neighbor since I was little! She was amazing and super understanding. Best Brazilian wax I have received in years! Made my appointment and will be making this my one and only wax place :)

I’m surprised no one has reviewed this place yet! The Tan Loft has been renamed to the «T.L. and Beauty Works,» due to the fact that the owner (Marisol) eliminated her tanning beds in favor of waxing beds (her claim to fame). I’ve been Marisol’s client for 11 years now, and the T.L. is my go-​to spot at home for eyebrow, face, bikini waxing, and manicures and pedicures. I’ve also gotten spray-​tan done in the past for special events (which is still done). Marisol is tops in the area for Brazilian wax, and she also knows how to deal with sensitive skin. This salon is *very* clean, the staff is very friendly, and Marisol is extremely professional about what she does. I’ve seen both male and female clients attend the salon for waxing services. While many scout Stuyvesant for the best deal, my motto is quality over quantity, especially when dealing with such sensitive areas (skin, cuticles, etc.). Highly recommended.
