My mother tried this place and said it wasn’t good at all! Plus, the people are rude… I pass by it all the time but the luscious smell of Jamaican food around the corner at Tropical Jerk always calls my name…

Hempstead workers: Why are you going to Subway and Chipotle – and, if you work at Hofstra, the campus center – for lunch every day? For $ 8 at Spic (e)y Spoon, you can get an enormous meal of really good jerk chicken and rice. It can’t possibly be finished in a single sitting.
This is far from being the only cheap Caribbean restaurant in the area, but it’s one of the better ones that I’ve tried.
p. s. I did not try the goat head soup. I didn’t even ask about it.
