Serving locally sourced meals, though not usually with a smile. Still beats the chains and the two other restaurants in town. Great porch for outdoor dining, cavernous interior with creaky wood floors.

Excellent place! Highly recommended. If you are in this area, you know there is just not much around. Crosstrax is a little oasis of excellence in an area where there are very few restaurants/delicatessens. So there isn’t much competition, but I think this place would still thrive if it were in an urban area where there was more competition. Of course, I wouldn’t ever want it to move, and part of what makes it so wonderful is the location. The building is very cool, inside and out. There are other things for sale, not just food, and there are many tables(even a couple outdoors) to sit and eat in a beautiful location. The service is great. Very fast and accurate. They always get every order exactly right. And it’s not just the accuracy, it’s those little details. I was noticing the other day: when I get a bagel there, it’s an excellent bagel, just the right texture and flavor, and they toast it just the perfect amount, and the cream cheese(they make their own flavored cream cheeses) is excellent, and they put just the perfect amount of cream cheese on the bagel. .. you get the picture. Simple, wholesome food done perfectly. Good coffee, also. Oh yes, and the cake! The cake, the cookies, the scones, the bars. .. definitely have a treat when you are in there. I have not yet had anything I did not like. One day it was blueberry cardamom bars. Ridiculously good. In addition to prepared food and deli items, the other things you can buy there include: local books, local milk and cream from an Amish farm down the road, fresh local organic produce items, local food such as from Cheryl Wixon’s Kitchen, calendars with local information and history, some really amazing handmade soaps, yarn, arts and crafts, etc. If you are in this area and looking for the best food within 20 miles, this is the place to go. Note: In the winter, they close at 6:00, so go for lunch or an early supper.

My only complaint is that they’re not open later!(I think they close at 6 every day, which I actually can’t begrudge them, because the owner and employees deserve to get home at a reasonable hour). I have a very tight food budget so I rarely eat out, but I eat here as often as I can swing it. I think I would describe the food as healthy meals that my mom would cook, if she were feeling inspired. I’m a fan of tuna fish sandwiches, and at a lot of delis, the tuna is extremely boring. Why would I pay for a sandwich that I could make better in my own kitchen? Not here – the tuna was gussied up with several interesting ingredients(I wish I could remember specifics… it was a while ago). The recipes, to me, feel inspired – whoever comes up with the menu is not just running on auto-pilot. It’s a pleasant place to sit and eat, always lots of locals. And free wifi.

Fresh local produce, with daily specials, and a wide range of fresh backed bread, this is a good hit if you happen to be driving through the tiny metropolis of Unity. Service is quick and friendly, the coffee is good, and I don’t really have any complaints. Prices are reasonable for portion sizes, and you can get any sandwich grilled. When the place has amazing bread that crispy texture you get from grilling and melted cheeses makes it that much better. I’m not sure when I’ll be in Unity again, but when I am I’ll be stopping here.

Solid Coffee, and a breakfast sandwich worth waiting for. The deli store also offers local milk, heavy cream(in mason jars!), and various meat and cheese selections from farms near and far. For a tiny town like Unity, this is a great place for a pick-me up.
