I dropped off my KRK monitors in July, just got ‘em back. The estimate at the time was @45 or 50 bucks if it’s not covered by warranty, easy repair. The final bill was 172 with no notice that there would be any additional charges. New, the units cost that or less. Guy doesn’t answer phone, doesn’t let you leave voicemail messages, doesn’t let you email him. He’s no longer authorized to do KRK repair. Wonder why. Go anywhere else.

Somewhere in the shipping process, one of my minions improperly packed my backup Allen & Heath and caused the ground post to snap off. I checked A&H’s website for authorized repair facilities near San Antonio, and decided to go to Avalanche. I expected a clean, friendly, organized, courteous shop. What I received was a run-down facility in a dangerous looking strip and a curt receptionist sitting in the middle of a mountain of paperwork and broken or consignment gear. In fact, a slight breeze could have made an AVALANCHE of Pro Audio(gear and paperwork). See what I did there? It took seven weeks before my mixer was«ready». The call informing me that my mixer was ready was probably the highlight of my experience with this company. I arrived at the location to pick up my mixer to find a new appendage on it. Instead of the professional and OEM ground post, something much more horrific was in it’s place. Do you think, when the audio gods at Allen & Heath made this beautiful and delicious piece of audio mixing technology, they intended for it to have a GIGANTICDARKGREENAMP-STYLE«BANANA» BINDINGPOST frankensteined onto it? I took one look at it, sighed in disgust, paid the additional $ 8 and was thankful to have my mixer back. My mixer is now an unholy abomination thanks to the professional service by Avalanche Pro Audio. Yes, I could probably take it back and try to press the issue, but I’d rather scratch pentagrams into my mixer and paint it with goat blood before I took it back to these folks. My receipt says that they called A&H and were informed that a banana plug would be just fine — something just doesn’t seem right about that. Somewhere in the seven weeks, they could have ordered the OEM part — hell, in seven weeks, they could have designed, fabricated, and mass produced these tiny parts themselves. I’m going to lodge a complaint with A&H and drive my mixer to Austin to have someone else look at it. There are a ton of negative reviews on Google Maps as well — if you’re looking for an authorized audio repair location… avoid Avalanche Pro Audio at all costs.
