Vanessa was our server and she was amazing. She was attentive and helpful. The food was incredible and the service impeccable. Thank you for a great experience! Volveremos pronto!

This place was a great find in LA. The spicy Hollywood roll is a new favorite and my server Miles was super nice and always checked up on my table.

So… it took me 10 min to find someone to seat me. There’s only 1 sushi chef behind the sushi counter. I ordered a salad with fresh tuna. it was delicious! Worth the wait. Ordered an ice green tea. It was good. The server is very nice. Ordered an order of salmon sashimi(4 pieces). It was okay. I wish the pieces were thicker. This place is not the wow factor I was looking for, considering it’s at a tourist place. It okay. It will fill my sushi craving.

I went there a few days ago. Great service and delicious food! Two servers that looked like twins were really fun and helpful. I think their names were Miles and Jules. I would be definitely coming back.

We had dinner here after a day at the universal studios park. I had the seafood udon(don’t remember the japanese name) and it was absolutely delicious! It had chicken, scallops, green mussels, ebi tempura and fishcakes in it. My boyfriend had the unagi with rice upgraded with the spicy tuna and it was great as well. The prices are good for what you get and our waiter was extremely friendly and helped us really well.

It’s was pretty good. We had several rolls and a takoyaki appetizer. I was really excited to see the takoyaki because I don’t really see it very often. Prices are a little high but I think that is no be expected at Universal.

Don’t know why there are so many negative reviews? This place is alright! Wasabi is great if your shopping at Universal City Walk or spending much money and time at the Studio theme park and NEEEEEED to relax over a fine meal. We decided on Wasabi for a sushi/roll fix while visiting the park cause you know… we weren’t feeling the carnival food. If you’re at the Studio, I suggest you swing by just after 5PM. Its not as crowded and by the time you finish you can head back in to the park and see that the crowds have mostly died down(a win!). Food: I wanted spicy. If this is you, go for the Terminator Roll. Ay Wey!(see pic). Really tasty and delivers on spicy goodness! Another recommendation is the TNT roll. Not too spicy and nicely presented. Rainbow rolls, Philly rolls etc are standard and available. The fish cuts for the sushi are pretty good. Actually bit more than I expected for this touristy location. There was a bit of a delay in the prep of the food though and it wasn’t very busy. Not the servers fault. Overall: A great escape from the greasy processed stuff that dominates the theme park. Polite service, casual ambiance and great selection of sushi and other Japanese meals. Its worth trying out! Cheers.

I’m only giving 2 stars because of nice employees. Sushi was horrendous! Super hard, and not fresh at all. I’m disappointed. I had good hopes about this little place is right on city walk! Christian was genius! He was our server, I noticed he wasn’t taking notes of what we and next table(4 people) ordered, so I asked, how he would remember all the orders by memory. He said, this is a test for him since he is studying to be a nurse. Wow! He was also very helpful, and nice. He even brought us 2 Mochis for my bf’s bday. We expressed what we think of sushi, so manager came over and showed how attentive he was. His name is Philip. He ended up discounting the meal for us. We appreciated it however they should try to read between the lines, and change their sushi.

The sushi was decent but extremely overpriced. $ 15 – 16 for most rolls. Not a great deal of selection for the rolls either. The Universal roll(ie Rainbow roll) and Philadelphia roll were good. However, considering how many other good sushi places there are in Southern California, it just wasn’t worth the cost. They need a better selection of simple rolls(tuna, spicy tuna, salmon avocado, etc.) with more reasonable prices. The atmosphere was meh. It was a Saturday evening and ton of people everywhere else but this place was largely empty. probably because of the prices.

What happened to the old menu? This used to be my favorite sushi place and I was a customer for 10 years. Most of my favorite sushi dishes appear to be off the menu now. What we ordered was still good but it wasn’t great. Left very disappointed.

Excellent service! The only place on city walk that serves sushi. The place is always clean and they play great top 40 music. I love the staff. Very prompt service. Sat really fast and got drinks so fast.

Came here on a Thursday night after a full day at Universal Studios. The vibe is more upscale. Most people who were in there seemed to just be getting off their 9 – 5 shift. This place was pricey for the quality I received. I’m assuming it’s pricier because of its location. I ordered a Crunchy Shrimp and Philadelphia roll with miso soup to begin with. The soup was tasty for a cold night. The rolls came out great. The server was polite. Overall okay experience.

Our first time at Wasabi was a great experience. Christian was our server and was extremely helpful. He gave a large variety of his personal favorites and the most popular items on the menu. We ended up getting fried calamari, California rolls, the spicy Hollywood roll and the lemon drop roll which was actually taken off the menu(by far one of the best rolls I’ve ever had). My girlfriend is really picky about sushi because she doesn’t like anything raw. Christian offered to customize any roll for to her liking which was really nice. He saw that we were on Unilocal before we ordered and mentioned that if we checked in to the restaurant we would get free garlic edamame; it was really good. Overall we definitely recommend this place to everyone, and will definitely be coming in again next time we visit.

We ate at the Sushi Bar. Jose Santiago, our Sushi chef, was fabulous. Best Ginger I’ve ever had. Made us Crunchy Shrimp roll. Goya was very good. If we ever come back, we’ll be sure to stop here again.

What a wonderful experience! We came for the opening weekend of Harry Potter world and after an exhausting 2&½ hour universal tour ride, we were starving. We came to wasabi and the food was amazing. Even better was the server Christian who made our experience a great one. He was engaging and on top of all of our needs without even asking. Drink refills, menu knowledge and on top of my allergy needs. He even gave us shots for my birthday. All I know is, food is good and the service is even better, I will be back. Management deneka is super sweet too! Thanks!

So went to Universal Studio and inside the park there are no good food that I like inside. So I decided to come outside of Universal Studio to hunt for food. I walked by and saw Wasabi At Citywalk. Perfect! I am tired of having burger and this place is great. I was definitely craving for Sushi Came inside and the décor was pretty nice. The place is clean and the server are extra friendly. So I ordered two rolls, tempura and gyoza and because I checked in I got free edamame. So the rolls are ok not like great. The first bite was really good and its probably because I was super hungry. The 4th bite, it was so so. I can feel that the management try to create that upscale atmosphere but to me, I don’t think it was like super upscale. The sushi is definitely priced at mid range, so not too bad. I think this is the only Japanese place in the City Walk Universal Studio.

‘Wasabi at CityWalk’ did help our Japanese food craving the other night! I was here with the Hubby the day after Christmas. We were super hungry after having quite an amazing day of fun at the Universal Studios. We initially spotted Buca de Beppo, which is located further ahead from Wasabi, but then decided to sneak peek in here just to give it a shot. We waited outside to be seated in, it just took couple of minutes for the hostess to take us in and she was welcoming. The restaurant looked busy and we took our usual spots, the Sushi Bar, for that’s our most fav place to eat in at any Japanese restaurant we go. And now on, we were taken care by ‘Shida’, the guy at the sushi bar. He was friendly, attentive & served all our dishes real quick. **Yelpers — Unilocal Check-in and get a complimentary Steamed Edamame, either garlic or plain** We ordered almost all of their available veggie rolls, everything tasted Great along with the garlic & wasabi!!! ~ Complimentary Garlic Edamame($ 6) — Serving size: Medium, Awesome! ~ House Miso soup($ 3) — Small portion size, Good! ~ Avocado rolls($ 5) — Fresh avocado, 8 pieces, tasted YUM! ~ Vegetable rolls($ 6) — 5 pieces, Likes! ~ Cucumber rolls($ 4) — 8 pieces, Delicious! To our great surprise, House Miso Soup was given as a complimentary dish towards the end to Celebrate the festive season, apart from the Garlic Edamame! Overall, we enjoyed Wasabi’s cozy ambience, liked those impressive dim lit balloon-like décor lamps, a sure decent place to hangout!

They aren’t bad for citywalk, okay prices. When I came here a year ago the sushi was AWESOME, but just last week it was okay good. They did have very good service, although it was a Thursday mid-afternoon(not busy). Universal City walk is like a bunch of happy zombies, paying no attention to where they’re going or where they’re stopping to take a photo, and I’m sure that affects service at most places along here but they have always greeted and seated us quickly. Would definitely go back but wouldn’t make a special trip. The outdoor seating was really nice now that it’s getting cooler, but enjoyed eating inside too. It’s casual and modern.
