Visa passed away in April. I’ll miss her warm welcome, smiling face, and lovely food.

This place is kind of hard to find! Its behind this strip mall by the railroad track. Walked in not thinking how good this place was going to be. They have a good selection of lunch menu to pick from. I got their sandwich with chips. I tried risotto my coworker got and also their soups are good too. They have outside sitting if you like to sit outside for some vitamin. All the ones I’ve tried so far did not disappoint me. Foods are made after you order which means a lot for me. Since I like my food to be fresh and knows that its being prepared correctly. Just wish this place was closer to my work so I can go everyday. But its like a stretch for us to try to make it back in an hour.

I meant to write this review a number of weeks ago, but it got overlooked. I came in here on a whim, and had one of the best deli experiences of late. V knew her food well enough that she could ask a few questions and know what I wanted before I did. The homemade soups are amazing. The sandwiches are perfect. I only wish it was in a better location. It seemed a little dark for the bright and flavorful food. I will definitely be back, even with the dark location

I’m somewhat of a regular at Deli V and I absolutely love it! Visa(the cook & barista of the place) is so warm and friendly, she’ll take really good care of you :) The food here is delicious, I love to get soup in a bread bowl — but Visa’s always switching it up and having me try something else! And you can’t go wrong with one of her tasty lattes, this morning I picked up a chai :) Definitely recommend going here! It’s a friendly place and there are cool shops to walk around when you’re done eating ;)

I work at a Salon about a block away from Deli V. Though, I have never actually been to their location, but the popularity of it in my salon gave me the eager to order. The best part is that they deliver to us! Customer service is great!

I love that Deli V comes into my work to take orders! As a Nail Tech I don’t really get a chance to go somewhere to get food. Perfect that Deli V delivers. The only weird thing is their tuna has apples and raisins in it… :p

I feel bad to give such a bad review since the lady who waiting on me was so nice. But… I ordered a turkey sandwich lettuce wrapped since I do not eat bread. I’ve order this often at other deli’s and it is usually great. Not here, the lettuce was soaking in water and nasty, the turkey was rolled meat(yuck) and the tomato was soft and tasteless. Even the pickle garnish was completely nasty, old and dried out. The best part about the lunch was the kettle chips that i almost refused but glad I had the chips to eat, very expensive bag of chips for lunch. I drove past dozens of great places and sorry I stopped here.

I ordered catering from here for local dignitaries at a community event. They were less than stellar at helping to pick a menu for our budget, meaning that all she was willing to do was hand me the menu. However, they set up the service beautifully, the portions were ample, and everyone was happy and sated. I had another event where I would have loved to have gone back but the unhelpfulness with the menu was a factor. As for personal lunches and mini meals, things have always been Yummy.

Tried this place ten min ago cuz of good Unilocal reviews but dam this place sucked. Hidden it definitely was. It looked nice but me and my girl ate there and it was 25 bucks for 2 sodas a panini(which turned out to be a grilled cheese with one slice of turkey and two pieces of bacon) and 2 soups. One a bread bowl which turned out to be soup with a hamburger bun in it. And a lodes potato soup which was horrible. Never again

I love their daily home made soups, and the sandwiches with their store baked bread is excellent! I brought home some of their cookies to the kids, and they devoured them!

Deli V is a hidden gem in downtown Upland. I was introduced to this great little eatery a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. There is nothing I have ordered that I didn’t like. My usual dish is their Ham and Cheese Panini with a Caesar salad. The price is not cheap, but neither are the recipes. The salad dressing tastes light and creamy as if it was just made, and the Parmesan cheese is the real thing not some powdery shreds. Even the pieces of romaine lettuce seem to have been carefully selected and prepared to give the salad an elegant feel. The sandwiches are equally well crafted and flavorful. More often than not, I am also tempted into indulging in one of their decadent soups. There is always a new one to try with flavor combinations so creative and delicious I’m often left speechless. *not an easy thing to do: o)*

Homemade soup is the highlight of this wonderful deli, but the other offerings are wonderful, too. The owner told me she made the breads from scratch as well as the soups and her obvious pride in her work makes this a great place to go. I look forward to my next visit. This deli is across the street from the Metrolink station, but does not face the avenue that would bring it more business. Too bad, because a place like this deserves to be bustling with customers. I had the soup and half sandwich combination and found that either the soup or the sandwich would have been a sufficient lunch. I ordered the beef barley soup, a choice I do not usually make, after trying a sample at the counter. It was terrific! This soup was not like its canned counterparts which are usually more liquid than ingredients, but was, instead, rich in ingredients and full of flavor. The texture was almost like a sauce, a bit rich and liquid without being watery. The half sandwich I had was primarily turkey, served on sourdough(homemade) and topped with thick sliced bacon that was flavorful and lean. My wife’s sandwich was tuna salad served on a dark, almost black roll which was also homemade. The tuna itself was creamy, but not too creamy, and included raisins, an unusual ingredient in a tuna salad. The soup and half sandwich combination was $ 7.95, an excellent price for food that was THIS good and this filling. We ate here because we managed to miss our Metrolink connection and I think that serendipities like this one are really blessings we often enjoy but take for granted. This deli is wonderful and worth catching a later train for!

Visa is great! Her food is wonderful. Her tuna melt is the best I’ve ever had, and her cakes, cookies, and soups are unparalleled. Visa herself is a wonderful hostess. We usually sit outside with our dog but Visa invariably comes out to say hi and chat(well, I guess we usually come outside of the rush hours). I wish we lived closer to Upland so we could visit more often. UPDATE: I assume that Deli V is going to close, although it doesn’t seem to be officially stated. According to a notice on the door, Visa tragically passed away in her(more or less) native Singapore, presumably near her children and mother. I’m still shaken.

Had my sandwich picked up for me from here… I got a tuna salad and it came on a weird, round bread roll that I’ve never had before. It would’ve been ok, I guess, had it not been for the RAISINS in the tuna salad!!! Ick… Perhaps their other sandwiches are better? I’m just simply in no hurry for an encore: /

Do you know how much they charged me for an orange juice smaller than the size of my hand? Like two bucks. WAAAY too much for that amount. And it wasn’t organic or anything — just plain made-from-condensed orange juice. Whoopee. *rolls eyes* Not to mention they totally burnt my croissant warming it up. Yeah. Cuz I love burnt bread and overpriced orange juice when I wait in the rain for my train. Next time I’ll buy a smoothie or something. FROMSOMEONEELSE. The only plus=they watched my bike for me while I was inside ordering. Thanks!
