First time here and we will definitely be back. Food was fantastic and the drinks were awesome. The only thing was the service was not great. But the KICKASS band Philosophy of Soul made it all better. They play here regularly and if you haven’t checked them out… you MUST!

Came here a week and a half ago. Put in $ 10 in the Touch Tunes jukebox. Apparently the owner doesn’t like Metal. After hearing my Slayer, Ministry and Motionless In White the owner completely shuts off the I Touch jukebox and I still have 6 or so songs to go. Hmmm, a couple of songs ago she turned it up when someone played some Country music. I’m not a fan of Country, but totally respect that someone paid good money to hear the music they want. I know everyone’s musical tastes aren’t the same, but shouldn’t we all respect them regardless? Why have a Touch Tunes jukebox if you’re going to be selective on what your patrons listen to??? This is America right? The waitress said the owner couldn’t handle it. The waitress was sympathetic and comped one of my beers. Appreciate the gesture, but what if I would have rather heard the music I paid for instead??? Anyway… the food is great here and have been coming for years, so I’m not trying to deter anyone, but I suggest when you go just flood the Touch Tunes jukebox with as much METAL as you can and see what happens!!! \m/

My date & I stopped in here for a beer and maybe some appetizers. The guy running the place seemed slow, inattentive and lacked any kind of friendly attitude. The place reeks like old cigarette smoke and dirty cooking oil… nasty. We ordered a Pomona Queen and Stella on tap. Both beers tasted terrible. The Pomona Queen was bitter and not very cold. The Stella was flat, tasted stale and was headless. The guy never returned with menus, never returned to check on our status… its a small place c’mon really? We took a sip or two from the terrible beers, waited around for our server to come back. But decided forget this smelly place, the poor service and the bad tasting beer and go elsewhere. I even struggled to pay the bill; the guy(assuming the owner) never came back to our table, I had to go to the bar and flag him down, then he held onto my card while running around the bar for 5 minutes before actually processing it… damn! Never stepping foot in this establishment again.

This place is so amazing! Makes me feel at home! Let me explain… I’m on a business trip from the Bay Area and some of the food is seriously reminiscent of my «home» food. We were just looking for a place to get some beer and good food and we have found it! The staff is super attentive and friendly and on point. Will definitely return when we are coming through town again! Thanks for the experience!

Just had lunch at JD Allison’s Bar & Grill. I ate here once before, but it was a different restaurant and a billion years ago. Thought we’d try something different than our usual Charlie’s Stars and Stripes stop after hitting the hair dresser for a lunch time bangs trim. Really liked our server, she was friendly and attentive and kept my iced tea full which is very important to me! I had the nachos and as described by our server, they were HUGE. I think that these nachos would have been perfect except the chicken wasn’t that great. it was extremely salty and too much of whatever other seasoning they used made me not care for it, so I left a lot behind. Also the olives tasted funky. Otherwise, though, these would be good nachos. I might try them again sans chicken and olives. One friend had the blue cheese wedge salad and the other had the tuna melt and both loved their food. The tuna melt is interesting and has apples and cranberries in it, but my friend said it was really good and not overly greasy like a grilled sandwich CAN get. Atmosphere and vibe was that of a bar, maybe even a neighborhood hang out type of bar. It wasn’t full on this Friday lunch time, but there were plenty of tables being used. The prices are average for the meal and restaurant and over all we enjoyed it and would definitely return.

I go to a university nearby and like to eat here if I have a while for lunch. The waitresses are hot and leave you alone. Bring a text book, Crack a cold one and try the chili cheese fries.

My BF and I are regulars here and we LOVE it! I always get the fresh fruit and Brie plate(a MUST, it always gets wide-eyed stares from on lookers) and my BF likes the Turkey and Avocado. Portions are extremely generous, and drinks are always perfect! We love that they are also PETFRIENDLY on the patio, and our Anna gets a fresh bowl of water whenever we go. Great atmosphere, top-notch service and crafted food that leaves you feeling very satisfied!

We found this place for lunch while near by. It is absolutely delish! We got the wet n wild fries for an app… Such a huge portion and so darn good– basically the big brother of in n out animal style fries. We gobbled them up and basically had to force our selves to eat our other meal because the fries were so big and good. I got the soup and salad combo, the soup is amazing! The baja chicken soup(sans breadbowl) with thick and tasty with lots of white meat. The salad is a good array of mixed greens(not just iceburg). My friend got the buffalo chicken salad and it was huge and great quality product. The place was actually pretty darn busy for lunch and there was only one server/bartender… She was great! Always checked on us, water always full, she was wonderful. We got the meatball sandwich togo for my hubby… will post back on good it is.

Limited menu, but when looking around it looks like the kitchen was an after thought. Pub atmosphere with TV’s everywhere which support local sports as well as professional. The food is actually pretty good but be prepared to wait because good food takes time. Portion size is pretty large and the ingredients are quality.

My friend and I went last night and order a couple beers, water and wings(that don’t come with celery). — they were good, service was slow. I woke up early the next morning with the worst upset stomach.- I have been bed ridden all day. Not sure what happened from kitchen to table, but I spoke to my friend today and she informed me that she has had the same symptom. I myself have worked in the food industry for over 12 years and hope that nothing fishy is going on there. What ever happened to us is unfortunate and I will not risk my health by going back there. :( — nor will my friend

This place is definitely above average. The service is a bit on the slower side, but wasn’t bad. My waitress brought my orders out quickly and was attentive whenever I needed anything. I came on Thursday when they have $ 5 steak dinners. The steaks are a bit small and require you to order at least 2 drinks(alcoholic or not) but for the price, it is absolutely worth it. You get a steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, and a salad. They have $ 5 sliders on Mondays, $ 1 tacos/enchiladas and $ 3 mexican beers on tuesdays, $ 6 spaghetti dinners on wednesday, and $ 5 steak dinners on thursday. The waitresses are very attractive as well.

Horrible, horrible service. Very limited menu, and what’s on it isn’t good enough to justify such limited choices. The amount of food does not justify the price in the least, either. The women who work here are far more interested in flirting than in serving, and the men are just uninterested in everything. The garlic cheese bread was dry and tasteless. It’s made with a very dense, bland bread, then just has cheese slapped on top. The fried bologna sandwich was greasy(yes, I realized it’s «fried» but it was ridiculously greasy) with under ripe tomatoes. The bread was supposedly sourdough, but was completely tasteless, although thankfully less dense than the garlic cheese bread. The fries were decent, but our waiter/bartender never bothered to check back with us to see if we needed anything, so I was stuck with eating them plain. When it came time to pay the check, we had to flag down our waiter/bartender. He dropped it at the table, but then disappeared back behind the bar and never came back. I had to walk the payment up to the bar, where he then proceeded to take at least three drink orders before acknowledging me, then stuck the check with our credit card behind the bar and once again took off for about ten minutes. There’s not a chance in heck I’ll go back to this place. Not a single thing made it worthwhile. Oh yeah, they also had a display of Victoria’s Secret boxes and numerous vases of flowers behind the bar. Looked like a funeral for a pole dancer.

I have to give this place 1 star. The servers are horrible. I don’t go around posting bad things out of the blue. I’ve been here over 20 times and have gotten good service a hand full of times. The servers have a lot to learn about customer service. The food is good but not worth putting up with the bad servers.

As far as bars go, this place is one of my favorites. I used to play tons of shows at The Wire which was located a few doors down, so after sound check your options for getting a beer were 2nd Ave Saloon or this place. Let me be honest, these two bars attract a very different crowd. It is just my preference. but I much prefer hanging out here. This place just has a really good vibe. Everyone is friendly, they have a great selection of beers on tap, and the food is even pretty good. It’s not very big so it’s not the easiest place in the world to get a table, but it offers a much better overall experience than it’s neighboring bar. If you’re looking for somewhere to drink in Downtown Upland, this is my recommended spot!

First and foremost, this isn’t the biggest of establishments to eat at. We came here to watch the football games, but getting a table for 5 was too difficult to manage so we split up for a table of 3 and 2.(There’s only about 5 – 10 tables in the place) I came here after hearing about their cheap bottomless mimosas. I was under the impression that I could just go for that deal but you also have to order a meal to get the mimosa deal. That kind of sucked cause I’m either gonna fill up on food and get no mimosa OR I’ll fill up on mimosa and settle for microwaved leftovers for later. I ended up ordering an omelette which was okay at best, maybe it was the«wait» for a table that made me irritable but I wasn’t happy after my meal. In addition to having ordered food I didn’t want, the service for my «bottomless» mimosa was slow and I saw the bottom of my glass several times. Maybe they wanted bigger tips from other parties, but my lack of bottomless-ness had me irritated cause that’s what I came for. Also, when I tried to use the restroom after my meal, I come to find out that the bathroom door doesn’t lock. Not cool. Maybe I’m overreacting, but the small atmosphere, mediocre food, «bottomless mimosa» deal, and unprivate bathroom makes me not wanting to come back here often.

While antique shopping around Downtown Upland I decided to stop by JD Allison’s for a mimosa. I was greeted very rudely by Michelle who talked to me like I was more of a pest than a paying customer. I live in Upland and visit JD’s often. I won’t be doing so again.
