I made an appointment because he was listed under my insurance as a participating doctor. I called the day before and got an appointment for the next day immediately. He does sit behind the desk and takes notes as mentioned. He physically examined me based on my symptoms. He wrote me a prescription and gave clear instructions. He helped me when my general provider did not; so, im happy with dr. Kim. I was in and out within 15 minutes. I dont think english is his first language, but i understood him. There was 2 instances when the accent was problematic and i asked him to repeat, and he did. Not a big deal. Just stay on point if you talk to him; he’s no nonsense. They only accept cash or check for payment. Office looked fine: it had a tv and plenty of magazines and brochures to read. I suppose the furniture was a bit worn out, but that didnt matter to me. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I think they said his practice is only part time.

We are very disappointed with his services for our mother. We have found out that she has cirrhosis and her liver is not working properly. Had to take her to the emergency room to get that information and they had to drain her stomach. The doctor said you didn’t know this? We were in shock to find this out. He never once did one examination on her. Instead takes her into his office and sits behind a desk. Never felt her stomach. He should have known with the size of her stomach with all the fluid building that it needed to be drained long ago. He saw her 6mo and never did anything to help. We are done with him. If your looking for results and a dr to help u better understand what is happening … Go to another dr. This one is not for you! In order to post this I have to Input a 1 star. This is an absolute 000 star.

I saw Dr. Kim because of my insurance. I checked in, it was easy, the receptionist was nice. I was seen in a timely manner. I was pulled into his office, not an exam room. We discussed why I was here, my medical history an what I expected. There is a separate exam room as to not be distracted by a concurrent medical exam and discussion. The physical exam was thorough then a plan was developed. We agreed that an EGD was needed. He checked his calendar and quickly set up the outpatient procedure. He explained everything in detail. He has a bit of a heavy accent. I had my procedure at San Antonio Community Hospital. He was on time, spoke to my family before the procedure and then immediately afterwards. It was reassuring that he asked if he could lay hands on me and pray. That was a nice feeling of peace and calmness prior to going under. I went home no problems. I came back a week later for results. Again in his office and not an exam room, that is so old school. Everything checked out. I was seen within a couple of minutes of my appointment in and out fairly quickly. We discussed a follow up plan. As for his office it was very clean, a little dated, but glamour is not everything. And for the other reviewer who said the receptionist could not tell you what time you would be seen, they must have left something out. Dr. Kim is a specialist and sometimes they get called into the hospital during an emergency for a patient and often the office staff does not have any time reference, since the doctor is keeping someone from dying he may not have time to check into his office. I loved the old style, Marcus Welby MD style. Thank you Dr Kim for your excellent care.

Only gave a 1 star because it wouldn’t let me leave a rating. Office is outdated and worn. Made an appointment, and waited for at least an hour. When I asked the receptionist a time frame of when I could be seen, she responded, «i dont’t know». I asked if appointments are meaningless and she said yes. This is the worst office I have ever been to.
