Very disappointed on yesterday’s visit. I went there at 1pm and I was surprised that this place was so empty since I have not came here for 3 years. We ordered the edamame, the shells of edamame were dried. Maybe it is over night and reheated. The Seared Ono is something that I always craved for and make me drive from LA to Ontario. Again, I was very disappointed. The Ono(white tuna) was not seared enough. The fish is small and the rice is taken very big portion. At the end of the meal, we all did not get the complementary fruit as it used to be. Lastly, we need to find a restroom 30 mins after our meal, so you know what’s going on.

Been going to this place for ayce for a few years. The rolls are pretty good and I love most of their baked rolls. The problems I have with this place is they take forever to bring the sushi to you and getting your drink refill same thing. We went with a large party and were there from about 130 till 300. We actually were told that we could not order anymore!!! Now mind you we didn’t order anymore that what normally 8 people would eat and we ordered plenty of beer and soda. Didn’t know they had a time limit. Fact is that it would take at least 20 minutes between orders of maybe three different rolls. Want to still like this place but that was bad customer service. Three stars just for that.

My go to sushi spot! I’ve been to a lot of different sushi places and I always come back to this one. If you’re looking for good solid sushi, this is the spot. It’s nothing too fancy but it’s a great family spot with great service!

This is our go to sushi spot when we want good sushi, great price and great service, the owners have made it a point to know our names and our drink orders. The josh roll is one of my personal favorites.

Sho Sushi was a good experience. I agree with Paul G., I don’t get where this low-scores come from — I had a nice first impression of the food. The chicken is better than most other places because of the easiness in chewing and how the first bite you taste a second of crisp before the tender portions. The udon is good also + the lunch combos aren’t that bad at all. The waitress was nice to us and we were appreciative of the small talk. Usually coming to places where the staff like to small talk sometimes is a good way to engage people and I enjoyed it. The sushis look amazing — I would come back to try it — with the all-you-can-eat which makes me wanna try. While the price may be a bit steep, the food looks real good. Kudos.

Sadly the quality seems to have gone down the past two trips I’ve gone. There’s one good sushi chef who makes the rolls with a small amount of rice but the last time we went the rolls we ordered we’re half rice half other stuff which is not a good ratio of sushi. Prob won’t be coming back any time soon and will stick to normal sushi for the time being.

If you don’t get all you can eat and someone else at your table does expect to be watched the whole time. The lady watched me the whole time to make sure I wasn’t eating any of the sushi and gave attitude when I ordered from the menu! Booths are very uncomfortable and food is OK. There’s better sushi places around that I would much rather give my business to.

I love this place, it holds so much sentimental value to me, the family that owns and runs this place is super friendly, service is fast and The sushi chef’s are masters of their craft, @ $ 19.99/person a bit expensive than most but you get what you pay for, they know, breathe and live sushi :) that’s why the place gets über packed after work hours, ambience and décor are on point, in all honesty it takes me back to the era of pinup girls, Japanese women dressed in american clothing, motorbikes and greasers all around. Sports/news are always on. This is definitely my hole in the wall sushi place that has seen me and the missus from dating to marriage to parenthood.

Great value for all you can eat sushi. They’ve always been nice and friendly to me and my friends. I guess other people have had negative experiences with the owner lady but she has never given me a hard time. I love this place!

Don’t waste your time with this place. Starting off with the owner is extremely rude as well the food is just blah. Drive a few more blocks down to kishi, you will be much more satisfied. Looking forward to the day this place closes down.

So decided to give this place another try after a four year hiatus! I originally stopped eating here as much better(Takumi, Yatai) opened up in the same vicinity. Walked in for lunch to see no one else in the restaurant at 12:30 p.m. The restaurant seemed a bit hot, was seated promptly and given the AYCE menu and sheet. I looked on the menu and noticed 4 new rolls added to the list; once of which was a Langostin roll, to my surprise it said that you can only order one per person. All other rolls are mediocre and un-inventive. Pretty much everything at this restaurant is a cali roll topped with cheap ingredients. The tuna looked to be not very fresh and the albacore had a real bad smell; as we speak I’ve been to the restroom three times since lunch. This restaurant continues to try to make money buy feeding the masses imitation crab. Another sour note was that the husband and wife team continuously speak Korean and it is very impolite. Top AYCE sushi spots in the IE 1. Takumi 2. Sushi One Spot 3. Yatai 4. Sushi Martini

okay so i’m updating my review. Visited again after not going for 2 years. Brought my BF and nephew since I’ve raved about it and we were finally in the area. Once we walked in we noticed it was DEAD during lunch time. Bad sign. But I remembered my fond memories here and proceeded to dine here anyway. The sushi quality dropped dramatically and I had never noticed the amount of rice they use on their rolls. Now that I’m more experienced in the sushi world, I realized this sushi could have been better. I ended up getting sick literally an hour after eating here, started throwing up and got some sort of mini fever. Worst experience ever. Definitely not returning. & it did make me pause a bit before I thought about eating sushi again. So sad and disappointing that this place dropped dramatically, I had so many great memories here.

I really don’t understand some of the reviews here. I’ve been here dozens of times at all times of day and every time the service and food have been excellent. This is a family run place, with Mom as host(always very kind and helpful to us) Dad behind the sushi bar(He’s a bit less talkative than your usual sushi chef but in a conversation he had with us once he explained that he is quiet because he is insecure about his English) and their son is a waiter/busboy. I like it best in the midafternoons when they aren’t as busy(They don’t hold normal sushi bar hours where they close in the middle of the day, they’re open all day every day except Sundays) on Friday/Saturday nights they can get very crowded. Service is still great though, if a bit slower. They are Korean, but you’d never be able to tell from the food itself. I also always enjoy their music choices, 90s-current pop in the afternoons and Kpop on busier nights. I love their specialty rolls, especially the Hot Night and Josh Rolls, and they have many times given us chef’s choice rolls with all different kinds of concoctions that have been excellent. The food is quality and you absolutely get your money’s worth for the AYCE price. We have time and time again ordered way more sushi than what the AYCE price would be valued at ala cart and never have they given us a hard time about asking for more the second, third or fourth round. But we also make sure to finish every morsel before asking for more and surely don’t expect to be able to take anything home under the AYCE option. The pieces aren’t thinner than normal sushi restaurants like I’ve seen other AYCE places do to try to cut costs and they don’t give you too much rice to fill you up. I also LOVE that other non sushi things are part of their AYCE price like miso soup, salad, edamame and more. I can’t sing their praises enough and I wonder if some of the poor service experiences people have had are due to unfairly high expectations and rudeness on their own parts. I have never had anything close to a poor service experience there in 7 years of many, many, many visits.

One of the best places to go if you want to eat yourself silly on sushi. The all you can eat for $ 25 is a steal. I’m having a hard time understanding the poor reviews for service as I’ve never had that experience. I generally go for a afternoon or early evening meal during the week. I did go one time on a Saturday night and it was very crowded which caused service to be slightly slow, but never rude. Crowded restaurant equals slower service at most places so can’t really knock them for that. I’m more about food than service anyways and always take in to account how much I’m paying to judge the service. They are always very accommodating on what is ordered and will make anything you ask for. The hot night roll, spicy tune with spicy salmon outside with a spicy sauce, is one of the best things I’ve eaten at a sushi bar. In talking to the owner one day he said he feels bad that his English is not better so he stays quite to not say the wrong thing. Maybe that is read as poor service? Worth the stop and I would make a special trip out of my way for this place. For best time go during the afternoon before the crowds.

Since my first review, I’ve probably come here 4 or 5 times and each time has gotten a little bit worse. The owner of this place is a very cranky asian lady. She’s become very rude and demanding since I first came here. On my second to last visit, my mother and I came in around lunch time. My mom couldn’t finish her sushi rolls so instead of wasting it, she politely asked for a container to take it home. The owner either got offended by this, or woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but either way; she started raising her voice talking about how we can’t. We even offered to pay extra, but she wasn’t having it and just got angrier. On my last visit(5⁄11) we came in once again. We had about an hour and a half to eat before we had to leave and the service was terribly slow. There was only one guy working the sushi, while some other guy was in the back doing God knows what. It was totally ridiculous since the maximum number of people there was 6. What’s strange though is that people that came in after us got their sushi before us. Half an hour into this, we decided to leave since we have to go soon. Of course the owner got upset and started raising her voice. Telling us that they were coming, but that wasn’t the case. As a matter of fact, the people that came in after us who got their food before us were asian… So I’m not sure if that has anything to do with getting better service.

I have eaten here twice now at lunch. Both visits were very relaxed and quiet. I hope that they do get busy in the evening, but the lunch special choices and happy hour priced cut rolls keep the tab down when ordering a la carte. I cannot remember all of the names, but the spicier rolls are delicious. I think the sushi is of good quality too. Service was friendly and adequate, but we did not require much help either. Overall, a dark and cool interior lends to intimate meals. The friendly staff ensure that I will return when I am in the area.
