I have been to this salon three times. The first service was wash, blow dry and curl. I requested tight curls because my hair is soft and fine. My curls were falling by the end of the day and I had no curls the next morning. I decided to give them a second shot and requested two strand twists. That same day, my twists were starting to come out. My ears were also burned from sitting under a dryer that was way too hot. I spoke with owner, Carol, about the twists. She was very professional and invited me back, at no charge, to remedy the twists. She said my hair was too soft for twists and we consulted on a new style(braids on sides and rod set). Well, my hair looked nice initially, but the next day, no curls! After spending over seven hours in the salon, between two days, to rectify a messed up hairstyle, I should be happy, right? I should have a style that lasts at least two weeks or three, as Carol said it should. Well, it didn’t. I gave the salon two stars, only because Carol was very professional and she did try to make me happy. However, I can’t give the salon any more stars because after 3 visits and 3 different people who tried to fix my hair, I still am unsatisfied with results. I suggest if you have soft, fine hair, you try another salon.

This salon is located near the 69th street transportation center. Very convenient to access and located in the Barclay Shopping Center. Texture & Style Salon is by far a classy and professional salon. The owners Art and Ms. Carol are very nice and make you feel very welcome. I was attending a formal event and got my hair done by Blair. He is excellent ;) please stop in !!
