Alpaca Lane Criations is an amazing, undiscovered gem in Upper Marlboro. This is a great outing for families, church groups, girl /boy scout troops, or anyone looking for a fascinating day in the country within driving distance of Andrews AFB and D.C. I visited on a whim after seeing their sign on the side of the road. Sue, the owner, could not have been nicer — she greeted me at my car and offered to introduce me to the alpacas. Sue is retired military and this alpaca farm is her second career. The alpacas at Alpaca Lane are remarkable animals. Friendly, curious, funny and of course cute. Sue provided complimentary feed and showed us how to feed them. She even walked us to the other side of the barn and showed off the babies, explaining all things alpaca along the way. Alpaca Lane has a small gift shop at the farm with some great alpaca apparel. I purchased leg warmers for my wife and a stuffed alpaca for my son. I will definitely be back here, and will tell others about the experience. Make sure to add Alpaca Lane to your itinerary if you’re at Andrews, visiting D.C., or just looking for a family outing in the region!
