Horrible, Trifling, Liars is the best way to describe this store. I am a BM in my friend’s wedding and we ordered and paid for our dresses on November 22, 2014. Today is May 19, 2015 and I am just able to pick up my BM dress! The wedding is June 6th! I have no idea if I need alterations and barely have any time to get them done if needed. This store has given every excuse in the book, they never contacted the bride, they always said they are waiting for the dressmaker to call them back, they could not give tracking information. Several BM’s called complaining about this piss-poor customer service. I plan events as a part-time job and I would never recommend anyone to purchase anything from this store. It is too much of an uneccesary headache and totally not worth it. DONOTGOHERE!!!

I brought my cousin here to look for a prom dress and I must say when we first walked in I did NOT think we would have any luck! Keep in mind we she found a dress at a nearby boutique, but because I made an appointment at CM we decided to wait. I’m sure you know how teen girls are once they have there heart set on something that’s it! We were immediately greeted by an associate and once checked in we told someone would be over to assist us. We were directed to two sections: one with all one of a kind creations and another with dresses from other companies. While waiting we pulled a few dresses and she didn’t like not one dress! My Cousin(your average teen age girl), was headed out the door. Erica pulled 3 more dresses. The winning dress was a black fitted jersey dress that flared out at the bottom with jeweled detail down the back! She loved it! The dress was $ 375& because it was a sample size the manager gave us a discount. If you are planning to go here, I strongly suggest making an appointment. Also this store is compact and overcrowded with gowns, so please watch your step!

Bottom Line: DONOTBUY A DRESSFROMTHISSTORE. Full Details: A lot of reviews will tell you how great the customer service is from a woman by the name of Michelle. That is correct, she was an amazing woman to work with and helpful beyond words. However, she is not at the store anymore. The news articles related to the store are not exclusive to the reputation of the store — The financial woes of the owner are directly affecting the business conducted in the store. Do a search for Ephonia Green in the Maryland Judiciary Case Search( ). There is currently a federal tax lien against her for $ 5.1 million. Let me point out — SHEHASNOTSOLDTHESHOP. Her financial problems are affecting the business conducted in this shop. I worked with Michelle to select my gown, and the gown I chose was the second one I tried on. Her customer service was amazing — but let me repeat, she is not there anymore. I ordered my gown on June 28th, and was told that the normal turnaround time to receive my dress would be between 3 – 4 months. By the end of October, I heard nothing. I called the shop to check the status of my dress order and was told it was«shipped.» This was around October 30th, so I could anticipate my dress the first week of November. I called again the second week in November and received no additional information. I let things slide through December. At this point, I started calling the dressmaker directly, where they informed me that the dress was not shipped. Without violating any legal agreements, I came to the assumption from my conversations with representatives at the dressmaker and the general manager of the store, that the shop was not upholding their agreements with the maker and my dress was in the middle of the dispute. I had to make phone calls daily to both the shop and the dressmaker and still had no results. Mid-December I decided to snag my veil and headpiece from the shop in the fear that they would unexpectedly shut their doors due to the financial troubles of the owner. My discussion with the general manager went nowhere. I applaud her patience with my frustration, but she gave me no alternative. I called my attorney and was prepared to take them to court for breach of contract(though, a civil suit for a piddly $ 1,300 is nothing compare to an IRS lien of $ 5.1 million.) After threatening legal action and more phone calls to the dressmaker, my gown was shipped. I finally walked out of the shop with my dress the day after Christmas. I do not fault the general manager, and by no means do I place any blame on Michelle. Their customer service within their restrictions was commendable. The owner of this shop needs to shut the doors or sell the store. The financial issues of the owner are having a direct, negative effect on the operations of the shop, and from my experience, it seems that they are not paying their bills. Let it be noted this is just my assessment, but no one should have this kind of issue when ordering anything from any store. This was an unnecessary headache that ended out well. No bride should have to deal with this when trying to organize the rest of what should be a beautiful and joyous process. I hope my review will sway you away from this shop. I cannot repeat enough: DONOTBUYYOURDRESSATTHISSHOP!

They were ok — I needed a last minute adjustment to a bridesmaid gown. I called approximately 2 weeks before I had to wear the dress. I called and they were able to fit me in in the next few days. The seamstress let out the dress and hemmed it for $ 100. No complaints here, but the customer service was just ok. There was some type of mix up with my account — it wasn’t rung up properly, but I kept my original receipt. I also had the feeling if I needed any adjustments after the first set that I would have been out of luck.

I was in my BF wedding. she lives in the Tidewater area, I’m here, but the wedding was in Charlotte, NC. As my dress needed alterations to the length – I decided to go to CM. I called to schedule an afternoon appt. for after work. When I get there – there was a bride and her bridal party there. So I had to wait(standing up) as they were in all the seats available. They don’t multi-task very well at all. The seamstress got to me and she had to stop so many times for something other than helping me. I’m cranky, tired and my feet hurt! I’m thinking please get with it! The floors in the dressing rooms were filthy and needed vacuuming(didn’t want to stand on barefoot or the dress to drag and pick up despicable lint. The cost for the alterations were the most ridiculous I have ever seen. I spent $ 178 on the dress, $ 88 for shipment to their location,(they neglected to call and let me know the dress arrived) so I was cutting it close to get the alterations in time for the wedding. I spent $ 210 on alterations — she cut approx. 2 inches from the bottom of the dress to hang perfectly on my shoes and she tightened the bust so I wouldn’t have any mishaps. I’m still in disbelief for $ 170 in alterations! I’m in the wrong business apparently! I paid more for the alterations than I did for the dxmn dress. I tried explaining that to the lady at the counter and she understood but still charged me $ 210! Cash, check, or charge! The dress was ready in 2 weeks and it was done right the first time so there weren’t any hold-ups. I’m not robbing banks for a living so I will definitely do my homework the next time before I spend my hard earned money at CM again.

Worst experience of my life — I should have gone to David’s Bridal. At the time that I went(2008) the store had been turned over to new management and not for the better. Everyone was rude and inattentive; I didn’t feel like my experience was personalized. I had MANY problems the day before we were supposed to fly out with the bridal party’s tuxes and had to return several times that day with complaints. I was never once given an apology for all of the inconvenience. I even wrote a long letter after the wedding voicing my complaints and never got a response.

I have NEVER been so disappointed by the lack of customer service at a retail store. My husband’s best friend got married and ordered 7 tuxes for over $ 2,000.00. Since my husband was working the next day, it was my duty to return his tux. I checked with my husband on the return time, checked the outside garment bag and found in writing that the late fee would be $ 20 if it was not returned the next business day. To my surprise, when my parents returned the tux for me, they were told that they would be charged a $ 50 late fee. Figuring this was a mistake, I called and talked to Brittany(an assistant manager) who explained that the time and $ 50 charge was stated on the receipt and that they would charge me regardless of what was stated on the garment bag. I asked to speak with the owner(who addressed herself as Mrs. Green, I believe) and after re-explaining that I did not have the printed receipt in font of me and simply followed the instructions on the actual suit garment bag, my thought was that she would understand. Instead, I was confronted with an owner that did not want ANYTHINGTODOWITHOURCONVERSATION. She was rude, ubrupt and actually hung up on me because she did not want to hear the complaint. I will NEVER shop here again and I encourage those of you reading this to be AWARE that this is a retail shop that believes the customer is always WRONG and that they are never liable for their own mistakes.

Don’t let the name mislead you. I am certainly no country girl! But I did buy my wedding gown here. I am the frugal type, and was not looking for anything in the ways of brand name, so I really can’t vouch one way or the other for the brands of gowns that they offer here. What I can say is that my particular gown was gorgeous. And I paid less than $ 500 for it – which is really unheard of. There was a tiny tear at the bottom of the zipper, which means that it was discounted by about 30−50%. Easily repairable(I think I paid $ 20 to get it repaired). Not only were the prices fabulous, so were the people. I basically walked in and said — I want to pay less than $ 500 for wedding gown, show me what you got! And they did. No pressure to look at more expensive gowns, nothing. That’s more than I can say for David’s Bridal or for the ‘previously owned’ gown place in Rockville. A great experience, a beautiful dress, wonderful people, and quite affordable.
