My experience has been extremely bad. I took a 1987 Lotus Esprit to British Car Doctors, wanting a 30mile servicing, and checking of gaskets. Nothing happened for a year, and then the next thing I know was my motor was sitting on the floor out of the car. The owner, Paul Jeffrey Warren, wanted money. I was trapped. So, I gave him a large deposit to put the motor back in the car. He took the money. Never did the work. Now claims he has no money, does not have the parts he claimed to purchase, and claims no more money. Paul Warren now works in Arlington Automotive of Tysons Corner, VA. He has my car there. But, no motor in the car. No progress has been made since 2011. And, he blew the large sum of money. Former staff of his state that I am not the only person that experienced this type of issue.

Some jobs too small… I hesitate to write this review because these guys have a deserved great reputation for body-off, concours-quality restorations. Unfortunately I took my vintage Mini to them for what I thought would be a very small job. The car looked and ran great and simply would’ t pass the DC emission inspection. Seven weeks and $ 2k later… the car still won’t pass inspection. When they asked for another week and another $ 500, I finally said«please just give me my car back.» The entire seven weeks I had to make call after call, couldn’t get a returned email, and got the feeling I was bugging them with my penny-ante little car. So, if you have a big restoration job, listen to the other reviews here. If you have something simple, take it somewhere else. I’m poorer and wiser for not doing so.
