Our favorite breakfast spot. Portions are huge for the price. The Trucker’s special is fantastic but I can’t imagine anyone finishing a full order. Wow! Chicken fried steak is excellent. The breakfast steak is not the best but it tastes pretty good. The service is always good and the staff very friendly although the weekends get crazy busy and it’s not always easy to get a refill of coffee. Not the girl’s fault though… they are running their butts off in there.

Breakfast at Castle’s is a divine little slice of heaven. My husband and I are at odds about what to call the place: I refer to it as a greasy spoon, he prefers«country diner.» At either rate, TRYIT! The breakfast portions border on ridiculously large, so bring an appetite, share, or prepare to ask for a to-go box. The hash browns are magnificent, and the egg sandwiches always toasted to perfection. Hubby loves the country-fried steak with eggs over easy, and the daily breakfast special(it’s the same every day) is mammoth: 2 eggs, hash browns or home fries, your choice of meat, 2 slices of toast, and coffee for like six bucks. This is hangover medicine, for sure, but also just a great place to grab a bite while reading the Sunday paper. The atmosphere is as country diner as you get – booths, generally packed at breakfast time, with a counter with stools at front. There are photos of the food all over the walls, and white boards displaying the gargantuan menu are everywhere. Expect lots of dudes in hunting gear or overalls and John Deer hats – that should tell you how real this place is. It’s truly great«down-home» cooking. Lunch and dinner menus are wonderful too – they serve buffalo burgers from a nearby ranch – though as you can tell I’m super partial to breakfast. If you’re in the area, or just traveling through, be sure to check this out! (Note: They only take cash, though there is an ATM near the cash register)

I stopped by around 8:00 am on a Saturday morning. There were quite a few vehicles in the parking lot… a good sign. I was quickly greeted by a very friendly server who took my drink order. I noticed on the Specials Board that in addition to the standard breakfast meats, they offered Fried Baloney. I am 76 and baloney was a major food group in my younger years. However, this was a first for me at breakfast. I ordered up 2 eggs, homefries, FRIEDBALONEY and a English muffin. My breakfast was excellent. I have driven more than 1 million non comercial miles across all 50 states since 1954. I have seen my share of country restaurants. Castle’s is a winner in my book. I want a tasty breakfast, friendly service, a clean facility, an interesting menu and finely, a drink to go. You will not be disappointed with a visit to Castle’s.

Hubby took me out to breakfast today as I don’t cook on Mother’s Day. We arrived 15 minutes after opening and the parking lot was ¾ full; a good sign. Nothing fancy here, but good food and fast service made this a nice place to eat. He had the trucker’s special, which is a large plate of home fries, biscuits and 2 eggs covered in sausage gravy. I tried the biscuits and gravy; very tasty. I had eggs, bacon and toast; not bad, but would go over easy next time, as the scrambled were a bit overdone. The bacon was a generous amount ant the bread was good as well. I love a place where the servers are continually cruising the place with coffee pots, ready to refill your cup as needed. With tip, this was a whopping $ 15 meal… stop in when driving US36!
