Obviously we all hate Comcast as a corporation, but the Urbana service center has always done me well. The initial set-up was handled with so much more ease than in the last city I lived, and they were able to easily waive the nonsense fees I was supposed to pay for screw-ups by the company.

Unlike the other review, this is meant to be an assessment of the Customer Service Center, NOT Comcast customer service in general. Spoilers: My experience was overwhelmingly positive. We had unhappily been Comcast customers for a few months. I recently accepted a job offer out of state(where there are better options for Internet/cable service(Brighthouse holla)), so my husband and I decided to close out our Comcast account. We read online that trying to cancel service over the phone is a total nightmare. The best approach is to visit a local Customer Service Center in person with all equipment in hand and state that you want to close the account. Familiar with Comcast’s reputation, we gathered up our things, drove to the center, and prepared for the worst. We went on a Wednesday afternoon around 1:15PM. Surprisingly there was no line at all. The woman working at the counter called us up right away. We handed over the equipment and made our request. She said sure, no problem. After three minutes or so, she printed out a receipt for us. She explained for some reason the account had been locked and she couldn’t close the account outright. To trick the system, she first removed all of our services then was able to close the account. We were all set. That was it, no hassling us into staying or offers of discounts. The process was quick and painless.

This review is about Comcast Xfinity Customer Service overall, not the Urbana Service Center! We recently moved, and used the Xfinity Movers Edge. Not only did we have the worst service trying to get our service moved form one house to the other, we had even worse service, and I didn’t think that was possible, after they buried our cable and damaged the wire and we lost our cable and internet service. I spent hours on the phone on the«Customer Service» line, without any real help. I was hung up on 4 different times, promised 6 call backs that never came, and even sighed at and mocked on a call, in which I found out was a service center in Bogota, Columbia. Rating the Comcast Customer Service with One Star is honestly even too high as far as I’m concerned.
