A special Saturday drive to Urbana for a fun lunch– great outside appeal drew us in. What a disappointment. Tempered by the brunch menu my sweetheart ordered the sweet potato waffles with chicken and chipotle syrup 12 $ — he received plain waffles with plain syrup! No explanation until we asked. The server was darling — but the chef/kitchen staff /manager were not up to par. As no apology… Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Crab Benedict smelled super fishy — only ate 1. Go with eyes wide open! Expensive disappointment.

Very dated décor, but it is a nice place. And there are not many options in Urbanna. I had oysters for an appetizer, which were good. But it took way too long to get them. Had only eaten 4 by the time our entrees arrived. I had the crab cakes, which are very good, and my wife the fish tacos, also very good. Service was okay, and the place seemed clean. Little bit of sticker shock on the prices though.

Not fan. The customer service was good. We sat in the bar. The restaurant is very nice looking both inside and outside. I order the calamari and it was pretty good. It was a little salty but still good. I loved the fried onions and peppers that were fried w/it. My boyfriend ordered the fish tacos. There wasn’t much meat and the tortillas didn’t look good to me. Packaged for sure. His fries would have been amazing but they tasted stale. I ordered the crab eggs Benedict over a biscuit w/hollandaise sauce w/a side of yellow corn grits. I didn’t not like this dish. 1. There was shell and/or crab parts all through the crab. I kept having spit it out. The hollandaise was runny and the eggs were over poached and one of the eggs was partially missing. The bugs cut was stale and soggy. The grits were disgusting. They had a giant oil slick on top. The waitress tried saying it was butter. It WASNOTBUTTER! I couldn’t eat any of it. I mean the top of the bowl of grits had a full layer of oil laying on it. Beers were ok. Had 1 or 2 craft beers.

Took the family for Sunday brunch. The Chesapeake Omelet was excellent and my wife loved the«chicken and waffles.» Great venue, very clean, good food, great service. Highly recommended!

Although the food and pricing was good, they ran out of a lot of stuff like chicken, calamari, scallops, and oysters, which is basically the major items on the menu. I thought this was odd for a noon brunch on a Sunday. The wait time was also a little longer than expected. The waitress was nice enough to keep us informed.

The Works is a fun little spot in Urbanna. Unfortunately it’s only open Wednesday-Sunday for the winter season, but I’m sure it picks up in the spring. A bit pricey, too, but all the food is made from scratch and you get big portion sizes so you get what you pay for. The bar staff is very nice. They were quite helpful with suggestions and convinced me to try the meatloaf. As a meatloaf aficionado, I have to say theirs was actually half decent. It felt a little chewy, but the mashed potatoes were excellent. They were a bit chunky but nice and buttery, just how I like em. With so many tasty options available and the limited selection of restaurants here in Urbanna, I know I’ll be back sooner than later.

Such An amazing new restaurant in Urbanna. Our server was very nice and everything was ready in a timely manner. The calamari appetizer is perfectly salted and breaded with a delicious remoulade dip(large portion). I got the«works» Caesar salad which has sriracha mixed in it and I highly enjoyed this rendition of the Caesar salad. I also got a side of truffle Mac n cheese… mmmm. My boyfriend got the surf n turf which he thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend this restaurant… new favorite place to eat in the area :)

Abouta 2.5: The Works Bar & Grill has been in the Urbanna town since July ’14. They pride in themselves of specializing in local seafood and fresh local produce. My husband and I decided to check this out for some appetizers. The exterior of this restaurant was cute, as they had a nice little patio and the perimeter was adorned with oyster shells. When we walked in, we were both surprised at how expansive this place was and how it was quite large. I loved the nautical decorations, such as the octopus/squid paintings, the mermaid artwork, as well as the ship mass design on the ceiling. There was also an indoor fountain with rubber ducks floating around. We were seated right away, and we ordered some beverages, and, our server, Dave W. brought out the incorrect one: P For appetizers, I tried out their fried wings in the Red Stag bourbon glaze — the glaze itself was pretty good, but the flavors did not permeate through the meat(so the chicken meat itself was not flavorful). I am thinking that you should request additional sauce on the side to dip your wings in! In addition, I tried their Crab Dip, which did not came out as piping hot as I would have liked, but it was still cheesy, creamy, and delicious. It was filled with lumps of crab meat, which I appreciated! However, the pita bread triangles that were served with were stale and dry :(Dave was a little forgetful and a bit MIA throughout our dining experience, and didn’t really check up on us at all the whole time we were there(nice guy, though!). +Crab Dip(ask for FRESH pita bread) +Red Stag bourbon glazed fried wings(should ask for extra sauce to dip the wings in)

We had lunch here on the weekend. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! The patio is lovely. Great prices on the wine and beer. The crabcake was great, the salad was great, and the truffle mac & cheese was really tasty. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again. The interior of the restaurant was very striking. Even the bathrooms were pretty(and very clean). i wish we lived closer so we could enjoy this place more than once or twice per year.

I’m not a huge seafood fan, but my wife loved their crab cakes and crab dip. Tons of fresh crab meat in both dishes. I’m a bit of a beer geek/snob — great selection. Several craft brews on top in additional to the normal stuff, full bar, and stacked wine selection. I’ve had the works burger and the meatloaf, both tasted great(I recommend either if you’re not in the mood for seafood) and the portions were just right in my opinion. Left me a little room for dessert if I wanted it, but didn’t leave me hungry without it. We’ve been twice and will definitely go back again next time we’re in town.

We had a lovely meal at The Works on a busy Friday night. We chose to eat indoors, even though there is a great patio. Margaritas were excellent, especially with the gold tequila upgrade. Calamari starter was a generous portion of tender rings with a spicy sauce. Ceasar salad was delicious, cold, and had just the right amount of anchovy flavor. Shrimp and grits was very tasty, very creamy, maybe a little shy on the grits. The perfectly prepared shrimp and sausage made up for lack of grits. Truffle mac n cheese was outstanding. Service was slow, however the servers appeared to be doing their best, and with big smiles. We actually enjoyed the slower paced meal, and the busy atmosphere. Lots of smiling and happy patrons. A success!

Opening night at the Works was fantastic. The food was great, our servers Angela and Zach were fun and friendly and made sure we had a great time. We had reservations and they were ready for us when we got there! There were some minor snags with getting some of the the bar and food items, but it was the best opening night we have ever been to. We would highly recommend the Meatloaf and the Mac & cheese, the Shrimp & Grits, and the Cayenne Chocolate Pâté. The Crab Cakes were the best I have EVER had.
